The Raptors are a nice move on Tuesday night. 

Toronto has started the season 0-2, but catch Philadelphia here at the right time. The 76ers were blown out by the Cavaliers last time they took the floor and have a very shot confidence. 

Philadelphia is also a team that doesn't have as many weapons as they typically do. Aside from Simmons and Embid, there isn't much depth this season to Philadelphia. Look for Toronto to get themselves going early here as they are extremely motivated to get their first win.

The Nuggets are the move on Monday night. 

The Rockets have had drama to start the season with players not following protocols. That has left them shorthanded and they needed an epic James Harden performance just to stay in the game against Portland. While they nearly stole it, it's going to be tough for him to put the team on his back like that again. 

Denver is a deep team that can slow Harden down. Look for them to put a focus on that, while they try to make someone else on this depleted Rockets roster beat them. Given the strength this offense has for Denver, they should be able to put together a complete performance here.

Golden State -3.5

The Warriors are a nice move on Sunday. 

They have clearly struggled with the absence of some key stars, but this is a matchup they have an edge in.

The Bulls have been a wreck through their first two games, especially on the defensive end. They haven't been able to slow anyone down and they've struggled with controlling the paint. Look for Golden State to attack the rim here, as the Bulls just haven't had any luck slowing down the Hawks or Pacers inside the arc.

Brooklyn -3

The Nets are a nice move here on Christmas Day.

Brooklyn is going to be a dangerous team this season. While their main core of Durant and Irving have already shown they are clicking, the supporting cast is extremely impressive.

They handled the Warriors from start to finish in their opener and now take on a Celtics team will still have some issues here in the early going.

They replaced a few pieces and aren’t going to be as good on the defensive end. Expect Brooklyn to exploit that here on Friday and really attack the rim like they did in their opener.

Milwaukee -8.5

Grabbing this line now is extremely valuable.

Golden State started the season off in Brooklyn and just absolutely got throttled from start to finish. This line should just keep going up as the game gets closer.

The Warriors just lack any sort of spark aside from Curry. They don't have the firepower any more offensively and struggle to even slow teams down.

Milwaukee plays extremely fast and their length and speed will own the Warriors in this spot.

Charlotte -2

The Hornets are a nice move on Wednesday night. 

These two teams open the season with oddsmakers not having too much faith in either. 

Charlotte is an interesting team, especially given the drafting of LaMelo Ball. They have the ability to put up some points with him and the cast around him, making them a dangerous team. 

This Cleveland team has a lot of gaps to fill and will even be without Kevin Love here for Opening Night. Look for them to have issues slowing down the speed of Charlotte, which should result in some easy transition buckets for the Hornets.

Kevin Durant left Golden State after the 2018-2019 season and now will see his former team for the first time after the weird season that unfolded with him being out. 

Him and Irving will take the court for the first time together and catch Golden State at the right time here. With Thompson out, Curry remains the sole point of scoring for this Warriors team. With this being the opening game, you have to expect the intensity to pick up.

Look for the Nets to bottle up Curry and for their offense to take off here in the early going.

Los Angeles took control of the series with a win last time out and now can close the Heat out here.

Lebron James and company have looked to be on a mission and that in turn has led them to some dominant play on both sides of the floor. Look for them to get out early in this one and really put their foot on the gas, as they have been able to dictate the pace for the most part in this series.

With an early lead here, the Heat will be on their heels and the pressure will be on, which will be too much to overcome against this Lakers squad.

The Heat have value grabbing the points in Game 1.

Miami has been a team inside the bubble that hasn't backed down from anyone. They are the complete package, top to bottom, on both sides of the floor. 

The Heat just absolutely attack and have plenty of offensive weapons that can cause a lot of havoc. 

The Lakers have had issues on the defensive end inside the bubble themselves, which doesn't bode well for them. Miami has the ability to steal Game 1 here as they can frustrate the Lakers and have them on their heels this evening.

Look for that to be the same here once again, as Boston will turn the pressure up on Miami. The Heat struggled mightily to find open looks and that should be the case once again here on Wednesday night in Game 4.

The Clippers have value laying the number here.

Los Angeles blew a huge lead in Game 4, only to be beat in OT at the buzzer by just an absolute dagger of a 3 pointer. 

The Clippers simply went ice cold around halftime and never rebounded in the third quarter. The one big thing to take away from this is that they did mount a huge lead and just needed to shoot even remotely average and we could have seen a blow out still in their favor.

Look for Paul George to come out with some fire and really spark this Clippers team as they still are the better all around team on both sides of the floor.

The Rockets are a nice play at this low of a number. 

Houston holds a 2-0 lead and we saw what can happen when this team puts a little effort into their defensive strategy. They had OKC struggling all night long in Game 2 during the 2nd half of what was eventually a pull away win for for them. 

Houston just has far too many weapons and can shoot the 3 ball better in this matchup.

Combine that with their ability to now defend and the Rockets have become a very dangerous team.

The Trail Blazers stole Game 1 and there was nothing shown by the Lakers that indicates they're going to run away with Game 2. 

Los Angeles struggled on both sides of the ball and the supporting cast around Lebron James and Anthony Davis just did not play well. Nobody seems to want to step up for this Lakers team and that is not a good thing when they have to deal with this hungry Portland side.

Portland is clicking on all cylinders and Damian Lillard is just on another level right now. With the confidence this team has, they should be able to keep this one close again, with a chance to steal it late.

This is a huge let down spot for the Nets on Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers (13-37) have an edge here Monday night.

The Cavs were embarrassed by the Warriors on Saturday night and this is a case where pride is on the line.

There is no reason for them to have played as bad as they did and now it's about rallying around each other. Cleveland is a young group with a few vets who can come out with some fire power. Look for them to bounce back in a big way against a Knicks team that is one of the worst in the league offensively.

Monday 9* NBA ATS Play

Utah -5

The Jazz 32-16 (24-22-2 ATS) have value laying the number here. 

Portland 21-27 (18-28-2 ATS) is not in a good spot situational here on Saturday night despite even being at home. They come in after a hard fought matchup with the Rockets earlier this week and now have to endure a back to back with the Lakers and Jazz. 

They issue they'll run into is the different styles both teams play. While the Lakers will run on them, Utah is going to put an emphasis on buckling down defensively. 

Expect the Jazz to be too much on the defensive side of the ball and really close down on these Trail Blazers shooters.

Brooklyn +1

The Nets 20-26 (20-26 ATS) are a nice move as slight underdogs Saturday. 

Brooklyn will be able to really pick apart this Wizards 16-31 (23-23-1 ATS) defense. Washington comes into play ranked 30th in total defense, giving up 121.0 points per game. They also rank 30th in the NBA in field goal percentage against, allowing teams to shoot nearly 50% against them. 

Brooklyn has some shooters that can cause a lot of issues for this Wizards defense. Given that, the edge sits with the visitors here.

Los Angeles -12

The Lakers (36-10) are a nice move on Friday night.

This is a game where Los Angeles will come out with a lot of fire as they take on a Portland team that is fresh off an upset over Houston. 

Portland has it's defensive issues though, which the Lakers will certainly pick apart. 

The Trail Blazers give up 115 points per contest which sits at 25th in the league. Given the weapons the Lakers have, they can run on this Portland defense all night long and really have their way.

New Orleans -4.5

The Pelicans (19-29) are starting to open a lot of eyes in the NBA.

They have value laying the number here at home on Friday night.

New Orleans comes in on a nice surge as the return of Zion Williamson has really bolstered this lineup. He joined at the right time as they hit a nice stride right before his actual return as they now have a lot of depth and playmakers that can shoot from inside and out.

Look for them to control the tempo here against Memphis, who ranks 26th in total defense.

Cleveland +10

The Cavaliers (13-35) are worth the move with this many points. 

Cleveland dominated from start to finish on Monday in Detroit, only to follow that up with a loss at home to the Pelicans on Tuesday. 

Cleveland showed some spurts against the Pelicans where they looked very solid, but couldn't overcome the bad runs. Now, they almost get a bit of a reality check after that two game stretch and should come out prepared in this one.

Expect them to play much more aggressive and to keep this one close throughout.

Utah -5

The Jazz (32-14) are a nice move on Wednesday night.

Utah is in full bounce back mode as they dropped a home decision to the Rockets, who played without their top 3 players last time out.

The loss was one of the worst of the season in the entire league and now you should see them really come out with some fire here. This is a perfect matchup for them given the Spurs issues on the defensive end. Expect Utah to find a lot of easy looks on Wednesday, especially at the rim.

New Orleans -7.5

The Pelicans 18-29 (24-22-1 ATS) are the move on the NBA hardwood Tuesday night.

Cleveland 13-34 (20-25-2 ATS) has had little success against teams not named the Detroit Pistons. Cleveland won their 2nd straight game against the Pistons in Detroit on Monday night, but returning home to take on a much different style opponent is not going to bode well for them. 

New Orleans and Zion Williamson have taken the NBA over as of late. New Orleans added a huge piece with his return to a lineup that has really shot well over the last few months. 

Expect New Orleans to run on the Cavaliers, especially given the back to back scenario here for Cleveland.

Dallas -1

The Mavs 28-17 (23-19-3 ATS) have value laying the small number vs. the Thunder on Monday night 28-19 (32-15 ATS).

Dallas has been a force on the road this season. They come in with one of the best road records in the NBA, boasting a 15-6 mark. 

Not only have they been playing well, but they've also been covering in road situations too. Dallas has gone 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 as road favorites. Combine that with their 6-2 ATS mark in the last 8 meetings with the Thunder and the visitors here have a tremendous edge.

Clippers -4.5

Los Angeles 32-14 (25-21 ATS) has value laying the number. 

The Clippers put aside all their drama and antics last time out and dropped a 122 spot on a Heat team that had lost just 1 home game at the time.

Now, they can shift their focus on moving forward here with Orlando, who simply doesn’t have enough to keep up. The Magic offensively don’t have enough weapons to keep up with this attack.

Expect LA to get out and run on this Orlando 21-25 (21-23-2 ATS) team, knowing they struggle to slow teams down in transition.

Cleveland PK

The Cavaliers (12-33) are the move on Saturday night inside Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. 

They open up as a PK against a Bulls team that will be on their 2nd leg of a back to back. Chicago will have to deal with Sacramento on Friday, a team that can wear you down with their speed.

Chicago's offense simply isn't built for a back to back scenario. They come into the weekend ranking 25th overall, putting up just 105 points per contest. While Cleveland has been a roller coaster ride with their young core, this team does have the ability to put up some big numbers if they get hot early. Look for them to try and take advantage of Chicago's fatigue and run early in this one.

The edge sits with Cleveland here, with the situational factors combined with Chicago's issues on the road.

Brooklyn -1

The Nets (18-25) have value here on the road. 

Brooklyn ran into a very hot Los Angeles Lakers team on Thursday and gave them all they could handle in a game they eventually fell short in. 

Now, they see a Pistons team that will almost be a breath of fresh air after having to deal with the high powered LA attack. Detroit ranks near the bottom defensively, especially when it comes to giving up the 3 ball. They have one of the worst 3 point field goal percentages against, allowing teams to shoot 37%. 

Look for the Nets to expose that and really push the attack on a Detroit defense that struggles at times to slow down the transition game.

Brooklyn just has too much of an edge here on both sides of the ball.

Utah -4

The Jazz (31-13) have value laying the points here.

Dallas continues their trip out west after beating up on Portland Thursday night. This, however is not a good matchup for them.

Utah ranks 4th in the NBA in total defense, conceding just 104 points per game. They are one of the best defensively at almost everything as they close out on shooters tremendously. Look for that to be the difference maker here as Utah's constant pressure will be too much for this Mavericks team.

Washington heads into Cleveland, who is fresh off a blowout loss to the Knicks. The Cavaliers continue to have their issues on both ends of the floor and this simply is not an ideal matchup for them. 

Washington loves to get out and run and they have the ability to score in bunches. Cleveland is going to have it's hands full with the tempo Washington plays at and will be on their heels all night long in transition.

New Orleans -3.5

This is a low number on the Pelicans (17-27) here. 

They are in a beautiful situational spot to be laying this low of a number. The home side has gone 9-3 ATS in this series over the last 12 games. 

New Orleans will also welcome back Zion Williamson which will certainly have this crowd and team energized. Look for them to feed off that energy here, against a Spurs defense that really ranks near the bottom in a lot of categories.

Phoenix has been a scrappy team to deal with, especially at home. 

The Suns come in with a lot of confidence and momentum after knocking off the Knicks and Celtics in which they averaged 122 points offensively in those wins. This team is young, but their speed is where they are able to pick apart opponents.

Expect this Spurs defense to struggle in this one, as the Suns will try to run on them all night.

Laying the points with the Jazz (29-13) is a nice move here.

Utah comes into this one with a huge boost to their lineup as they saw Mike Conley return this weekend. What was already one of the deepest teams in the NBA has just turned into one of the best benches in the NBA. 

Now, they see a Pacers team on the 2nd leg of a back to back which is always tough for road teams. Look for Indiana to deal with some fatigue and struggle here in a game where the Jazz can really wear them down.

Utah is in full bounce back mode after an over time defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans last time out. The Pelicans continue to give teams issues and Utah simply couldn't slow them down. 

Expect them to put a major emphasis on the defensive end, as they were torched Thursday. 

The Jazz are typically known for their physical style on the defensive end and it should be the difference maker here. Expect them to slow this Kings offense down and not allow anything easy in the paint.

This is a let down spot for the Blazers here.

Portland comes in off what was their most impressive win of the year as they took down the Rockets on the road last time out. It was a complete performance wire to wire, but now they are in for an even tougher time against this Mavericks offense.

Dallas has the ability to score from just about anywhere on the floor. They have so many weapons that can cause issues for opponents and this is a case where Portland will their hands full. Expect Dallas to get out and run, really pushing the Trail Blazers back on their heels.

The Magic 20-21 (20-19-2 ATS) catching this many points is a nice move on Thursday. 

Orlando comes in off a shocking win over the Lakers last night, a game in which they blew a big lead only to cash in late. 

They are playing with a lot of confidence and this team tends to play up to their competition. Expect them to really slow things down here against the Clippers 28-13 (22-19 ATS), as they are at their best when they can frustrate the opposite and force them out of their comfort zone when it comes to the pace of the game.

Miami -5

The Heat (27-12) have value laying the points. 

Miami is off back to back losses and this team has responded well to losses on the road. They come into play on Wednesday 7-2-1 ATS and 9-1 SU in 10 instances. 

The Heat have also been absolutely dominant at home. They are a solid 17-1 inside this building, playing at such a high level. The Spurs have struggled this season on both sides of the ball and will have their work cut out for them against a hungry Miami team.

The Clippers 27-13 (21-19 ATS) have value laying the big number here.

Teams playing back to backs in LA never seem to fare well. That goes double here for the Cavaliers 12-28 (17-21-2 ATS), who come in off a blowout loss to the Lakers last night.

Not only did they get worn out in that 2nd half, now they have to go up against one of the other best in the West. Expect the Clippers to come out fast here, knowing fatigue may be an issue with Cleveland. There are simply too many weapons here for the Cavs to slow down.

Dallas -2

The Mavericks 23-14 (19-17-1 ATS) are the move on Saturday night versus Philadelphia 25-14 (17-21-1 ATS).

Dallas has been one of the toughest teams to slow down on the offensive end. They rank 3rd in the NBA overall, putting up over 116 points per game. 

The weapons this team has is just too much to handle for opposing defenses. This is a case where the 76ers just heard news of Embiid and are going to endure some issues on both sides of the floor. 

Offensively, they are also just so inconsistent. Putting up just 109 points per game, they are going to struggle in a game that could turn into a track meet here. 

I've been betting against Dallas of late I know...now I'm on them.

Detroit -7

The Pistons have value laying the number. 

Detroit has taken both meetings with Cleveland thus far and now will get a chance to carry that momentum into the home portion of this head to head. 

Cleveland has been a wreck this season as they have just been filled with drama both on and off the court. 

This is a case where Detroit comes in with plenty of confidence and should be able to control this game against a Cleveland team that is dealing with yet another off the court issue during their film session.

Lakers -13.5

The big number is worth laying here Tuesday. 

Los Angeles 29-7 (18-17-1 ATS) just has too much for the Knicks 10-26 (19-17 ATS) to handle. 

Offensively, New York cannot keep up with all the weapons. The Lakers can come at teams with so many different styles and players.

The Knicks youth will be too much to overcome, especially given how well the Lakers have played on the defensive end. 

Anthony Davis leads the way as he simply doesn’t allow teams to get any easy looks at the rim. His length, combined with James and company are simply to overwhelming.

Milwaukee -7

The Bucks and Spurs finish a back to back against each other Monday night. 

Milwaukee won the first leg at home and they have a huge edge over this Spurs team. 

San Antonio simply doesn’t have the offensive firepower to keep up. Everything went right for them in the first meeting and yet they still fell by 9 and gave up 127 points.

Flip the script here to San Antonio and the Spurs aren’t built for a back to back.

Minnesota -2.5

The Timberwolves have value laying the small number.

We backed OKC last night in Cleveland and they demolished the Cavs from start to finish.

Now, we have an opportunity to do it again here and fade the struggling Cavs.

They’ve had their issues on and off the court and it’s shown with this young group. When you have veterans like Kevin Love lashing out at the GM, it’s never good for the morale.
