03-19-22 | Richmond v. Providence -2.5 | Top | 51-79 | Win | 100 | 9 h 56 m | Show |
At 6:10 pm, our selection is on the Providence Friars minus the points over Richmond. The Spiders pulled off their fourth straight upset when they upended Iowa, 67-63, as a 9.5-point underdog. But underdogs have covered just 41% in the post-season over the past 32 years off 4 straight upsets. Take Providence minus the points. |
03-19-22 | Michigan +6.5 v. Tennessee | Top | 76-68 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
At 5:15 pm, our selection is on the Michigan Wolverines + the points over Tennessee. The Wolverines have been one of the most under-achieving teams this season. Michigan was tabbed in the preseason to be a Top 5 squad, but has only won 18 of 32 games (14-18 ATS). The good news for Juwan Howard is that his roster does have a lot of talent. We'll take the Wolves + the points, as they're 14-7-1 ATS in the post-season as an underdog. In contrast, the Volunteers have covered just four of 20 non-conference post-season games as a favorite of 8 points or less. Take Michigan. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-19-22 | Creighton +12 v. Kansas | Top | 72-79 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
At 2:40 pm, our selection is on the Creighton Blue Jays + the points over Kansas. These two teams met last season, and the Jayhawks edged the Blue Jays, 73-72. Both teams come into this game off impressive wins. Kansas blew out Texas Southern, and covered the 21.5-point spread by 5.5 points. Creighton also covered by 5.5 points, as it upset San Diego State, 72-69, on Thursday, as a 2.5-point underdog. However, the Blue Jays suffered a key loss in that game's overtime session when Ryan Kalkbrenner, sustained a knee injury. Of course, his absence has been accounted for by the oddsmakers, so I have no problem stepping in to take the Blue Jays as a double-digit underdog. For technical support, consider that revenge-minded teams have covered 60% since 1990 as an underdog of more than 8 points in non-conference, post-season games. Take Creighton. |
03-19-22 | Western Illinois +7.5 v. UTEP | Top | 54-80 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 27 m | Show |
At 3 pm, in The Basketball Classic, our selection is on the Western Illinois Leathernecks + the points over Texas El Paso. Western Illinois has lost its last eight games to the point spread. But this long ATS losing streak has conferred point spread value to the Leathernecks, and has also set them up in one of my better NCAA systems, which has cashed 70% since 1990. Moreover, Western Illinois is 10-0-1 ATS in non-conference games, when priced from +3 to +15 points, while UTEP is a poor 8-16 ATS when favored between -3 and -15 points against non-conference opposition. Finally, UTEP is a wallet-breaking 0-7 ATS vs. non-conference foes in the post season. Take Western Illinois + the points. |
03-19-22 | North Carolina v. Baylor -5.5 | Top | 93-86 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 59 m | Show |
At 12:10 pm, our selection is on the Baylor Bears minus the points over North Carolina. The Tar Heels played their best game of the season on Thursday, when they crushed Marquette, 95-63. Unfortunately, they've covered just 22% of non-conference games since 1990 as an underdog (or PK) off a win by more than 10 points. Meanwhile, the Bears are 43-20-1 ATS vs. non-conference foes. Take Baylor minus the points. |
03-19-22 | Oregon v. Texas A&M -4.5 | Top | 60-75 | Win | 100 | 14 h 25 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Texas A&M Aggies minus the points over Oregon. After a 7-game SU/ATS win streak, the Aggies have lost their last two games ATS. I look for Texas A&M to get back into the win column (in Vegas) with a cover today vs. the visiting Ducks. Texas A&M is an awesome 62-33-1 ATS on a 2-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, including a perfect 8-0 ATS in the post-season. Take Texas A&M minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-22 | Colgate v. Wisconsin -7.5 | Top | 60-67 | Loss | -110 | 23 h 24 m | Show |
At 9:50 pm, our selection is on the Wisconsin Badgers minus the points over Colgate. The Raiders have won 15 straight games entering this tournament. And that win streak ranked 3rd behind South Dakota State (21 games) and Murray State (20 games). Unfortunately, long win streaks don't necessarily equate to ATS success. And South Dakota State found that out against Providence in early action, on Thursday. We played against South Dakota State yesterday, and will also fade Colgate on Friday night. Indeed, teams seeded #13 (or worse) are an awful 26.3% ATS in the NCAA Tourney when they were on a 14-game (or better) win streak. Take Wisconsin minus the points. Good luck, as always....Al McMordie. |
03-18-22 | Davidson +1.5 v. Michigan State | Top | 73-74 | Win | 100 | 22 h 22 m | Show |
At 9:40 pm, our selection is on the Davidson Wildcats over Michigan State. This is a great match-up between two veteran coaches (Bob McKillop, 33 years; Tom Izzo, 27 years) who have been with their programs for their entire head coaching careers. Interestingly, they've never faced each other throughout this time. This game will be played in Greenville, South Carolina, so the fans should favor the Wildcats. We'll take Davidson, as it was 2-1 ATS outside of conference vs. tourney teams, including a huge upset win at Alabama, as a 9.5-point underdog. Meanwhile, the Spartans stumbled out of conference vs. tourney teams, as they were 1-3 ATS. And Davidson's covered eight straight non-conference games, to boot. Take the Wildcats. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-22 | Iowa State +4.5 v. LSU | Top | 59-54 | Win | 100 | 21 h 43 m | Show |
At 7:20 pm, our selection is on the Iowa State Cyclones + the points over LSU. In their last three games, the Cyclones have scored 41 (Texas Tech), 68 (Baylor) and 36 (Oklahoma State). This paucity of points in two of their three most recent games will keep a lot of punters off Iowa State. It shouldn't. Indeed, in the NCAA Tourney, underdogs of +3 (or more) points that averaged 55 (or less) points over their previous 3 games have covered 61% since 1999. The Cyclones were a perfect 3-0 SU/ATS in their non-conference schedule vs. teams that made the tourney, with big upset wins over Memphis (78-59), Iowa (73-53) and Creighton (64-58). In stark contrast, LSU played one tourney team outside of its conference, and was upset by TCU, 77-68. Take the underdog Cyclones. |
03-18-22 | CS-Fullerton v. Duke -18.5 | Top | 61-78 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 54 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Duke Blue Devils minus the points over Cal State Fullerton. The Blue Devils are on a 4-game ATS losing streak. But that bodes well for Mike Krzyzewski's troops tonight, as Duke's generally been strong off ATS losses, including 39-24-1 ATS their last 64 off 3+ ATS losses (and 15-7-1 ATS their last 23 off 4+ ATS losses). Take Duke minus the points. |
03-18-22 | Capitals v. Hurricanes -150 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -150 | 16 h 42 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over the Washington Capitals. The Hurricanes return home tonight after back-to-back losses on the road to Pittsburgh (4-2) and Toronto (3-2). The good news for Carolina is that it's won seven straight at home, and is 23-6 in front of its home faithful this season. Carolina will be playing this game with revenge from shutout loss at Washington earlier this month. And the Hurricanes are 7-0 this season when playing with revenge from a defeat in which it scored less than 2 goals. Washington will be playing back to back road games after walloping Columbus, 7-2, last night. And that was Washington's 3rd straight win, as it also knocked off Vancouver and the Islanders by identical 4-3 scores. But the Caps are 1-4 their last five when playing without rest, 6-12 off a road win, and 3-9 after scoring more than 3 goals in back to back games. Take Carolina. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-22 | Virginia Tech v. Texas | Top | 73-81 | Win | 100 | 17 h 19 m | Show |
At 4:30 pm, our selection is on the Texas Longhorns over Virginia Tech. The Hokies upset Duke, 82-67, as a 6-point underdog to win the ACC tournament. Unfortunately, teams that pulled upsets as 6-point (or greater) underdogs in their Conference tourney championship game, have burned money in their initial game of the NCAA Tourney, and especially when not getting more than 7 points, as they've covered just 27% over the last 20 years. The ACC Conference had a down season. Out of conference, Virginia Tech played just one fellow Tourney team. That game was against Memphis, and the Tigers won SU/ATS, 69-61. Take Texas to blow out Virginia Tech. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-18-22 | Miami-FL v. USC -1.5 | Top | 68-66 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 4 m | Show |
At 3:10 pm, our selection is on the USC Trojans over Miami-Fla. Andy Enfield's Trojans are 26-7, but largely flew under-the-radar this season. But what's noteworthy is their record vs. other tournament teams. They played San Diego State in their non-conference schedule, and blew out the Aztecs, 58-43, as a 1.5-point underdog. Then, they played UCLA and Arizona twice. Both the Bruins and Wildcats have legitimate aspirations of winning the title, so I won't hold it against USC that it "only" won one of those four games, straight-up. But it did COVER the spread in three of those four games, so for the season, it went 4-1 ATS against other NCAA Tourney teams. The ACC conference was extremely weak this season (when compared to past years). The Hurricanes played one other NCAA tourney team in their non-conference schedule. That was a neutral court game vs. Alabama, which is seeded just slightly higher than USC (Alabama is a 6-seed; USC is a 7-seed). The Crimson Tide crushed Miami, 96-64. Of all the NCAA Tourney teams seeded #12 higher, the Hurricanes rank dead last (so, #48 of 48) in defensive efficiency at KenPom.com, with a ranking of #154 (of the 358 division 1 teams). Take USC. |
03-18-22 | Yale v. Purdue -16 | Top | 56-78 | Win | 100 | 15 h 42 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Purdue Boilermakers minus the points over Yale. This is not your grandfather's Yale team. And, by that, I mean, it's not very good -- at least not compared to past Yale teams that made the Tournament. The Bulldogs made the NCAA Tourney is 2016 and 2019, as well. But that 2016 team upset Baylor in the opening round of the NCAA Tourney, and then lost to Duke by just seven points in the 2nd round! It covered the spread by 3.83 ppg that season, and was 12-7-2 ATS overall. Likewise, the 2019 edition almost pulled an upset of #3-seed LSU in the first round, and was 14-10 ATS. But this year's Yale team was under water ATS with just a 14-15 ATS record. And in the pre-Ivy League schedule, it was blown out by Seton Hall (80-44), Vermont (61-53), Auburn (86-64), and Saint Mary's (87-60). So, it played four other NCAA tourney teams in its non-conference schedule, and went 0-4 SU/ATS. And it was 0-5 SU/ATS this season when getting 5+ points. Take Purdue minus the points. |
03-17-22 | Akron v. UCLA -13.5 | Top | 53-57 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 52 m | Show |
At 9:50 pm, our selection is on the UCLA Bruins minus the points over Akron. The Bruins had a magical run last season in this NCAA Tournament, as they won their "First Four" game, in overtime, against Michigan State. And they ended up in the Final Four, and were 6-0 ATS along the way. They then went 2-1 in the just-concluded Pac-12 Tourney, so they're 8-1 ATS in the post-season with Mick Cronin as head coach. Even better: Pac-12 teams have gone 88-58 ATS in the post-season vs. non-conference foes. Lay the points with the Bruins. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-22 | Creighton v. San Diego State -2 | Top | 72-69 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 29 m | Show |
At 7:25 pm, our selection is on the San Diego State Aztecs minus the points over Creighton. The Aztecs enter this tournament with the #1 defense among the participants, as they give up just 57.6 ppg. And they also rank #2 in defensive efficiency (behind only Texas Tech). The Aztecs are favored in this game, and we'll lay the points as NCAA Tourney favorites have cashed 61.7% in the first round of the tournament (including the "First Four" round), if their defense allowed 59.3 (or less) points. Take San Diego State. |
03-17-22 | Pistons v. Magic -3.5 | Top | 134-120 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 17 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic minus the points over Detroit. The Magic suffered one of the worst losses in franchise history when they were blown out at home, 150-108, by Brooklyn, on Tuesday. But off that embarrassing loss, we'll take Orlando to rebound tonight. NBA home teams bounce back off horrible home losses, more often than not. And since 1990, home teams have covered 63% at home off a loss in which they gave up 42 points (and 73% if they also lost that game by 22+ points). Take Orlando. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-22 | St. Peter's v. Kentucky -17.5 | Top | 85-79 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 13 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Kentucky Wildcats minus the points over Saint Peter's. The Peacocks come into this game on a 7-game SU/ATS win streak, while Kentucky was upset by Tennesee in its last game, and has covered just one of its last six, overall. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on the hot Peacocks. But NCAA Tourney teams on a 4-game (or better) ATS win streak have covered just 37.1% as underdogs of more than 3 points vs. foes on a 2-game (or worse) ATS losing streak. Take Kentucky. |
03-17-22 | Hurricanes -105 v. Maple Leafs | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 13 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over Toronto. The Maple Leafs will be without their best player, and the NHL's leading goal-scorer (45 goals), Auston Matthews. This will be Matthew's 2nd (and final) game he must serve due to his suspension following a cross-check vs. Buffalo. His loss will be deeply felt by Toronto, and especially because it will be facing one of the league's three best teams tonight. The Maple Leafs have not been playing very good hockey of late. They've won just three of their past seven games, and NONE of those teams would be in the Playoffs if the season ended today. The Hurricanes, meanwhile, have won nine of 12, including wins over Pittsburgh (twice), Colorado, and Edmonton. And while it's true that Carolina lost its previous meeting vs. Toronto, it's 9-4 this season when playing with revenge. Tonight, the Maple Leafs will once again turn to rookie goaltender, Erik Kallgren, who made 35 saves in his debut Tuesday night. But he is still unproven at this level, so we'll go against Kallgren and the short-handed Leafs tonight. Take the Hurricanes. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-22 | Norfolk State v. Baylor -20.5 | Top | 49-85 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Baylor Bears minus the points over Norfolk State. Scott Drew's Bears were upset by the Oklahoma Sooners, 72-67, in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament. And that was Baylor's 2nd straight ATS defeat. But the Bears are a wallet-fattening 47-22-5 ATS off a SU/ATS loss, if they also failed to cover the spread two games back. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-17-22 | South Dakota State v. Providence -2 | Top | 57-66 | Win | 100 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
At 12:40 pm, our selection is on the Providence Friars minus the points over South Dakota State. The Jackrabbits have won 21 straight games. But they were favored to win all 21. Their last loss: December 15 vs. Missouri State. And, like this game today, South Dakota State was an underdog. Indeed, South Dakota State has been an underdog just three times this season, and went 1-2 SU/ATS. So, this will be a big step-up in class for Eric Henderson's men. And Summit League teams have underwhelmed vs. the Big East Conference the past three seasons, as they've gone 0-7 SU and 3-4 ATS, with the average loss by 16 points. The last meeting was on November 30, when the Summit League's runner-up, North Dakota State, played Creighton, the Big East's runner-up. Creighton was an 8-point favorite, and blew out the Bison, 80-55. The Big East has dominated non-conference foes when not favored by more than 8 points, as Big East teams are 71-46-2 ATS. Lay the points with Ed Cooley's Friars. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-22 | Bucks -8 v. Kings | Top | 135-126 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Sacramento. The Kings upset Chicago on Monday, 112-103. We'll fade the Kings as a home dog tonight, as losing teams off an upset home win are a poor 87-125 ATS as home dogs of +5 (or more) points vs. rested .600 (or better) foes. Take the Bucks. |
03-16-22 | Celtics +2 v. Warriors | Top | 110-88 | Win | 100 | 10 h 45 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics + the points over Golden State. The Celts were upset, 95-92, by Dallas on Monday. And that was Boston's second straight ATS defeat. The good news is that Boston is 9-0 ATS this season (and 15-2 ATS dating back to last season) after scoring less than 97 points in their previous game. And the Celts are 29-11 ATS the past three seasons off back to back ATS defeats. Take Boston + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-16-22 | Iona v. Florida -6.5 | Top | 74-79 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Florida Gators minus the points over Iona. The Gators enter tonight's home game off back to back ATS losses. But they're 70-32 ATS off back to back ATS losses when matched up against .625 (or better) foes, including a perfect 11-0 ATS vs. non-conference foes when priced from -3 to -15 points. Take Florida. |
03-16-22 | Mavs -2.5 v. Nets | Top | 113-111 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks minus the points over Brooklyn. The Nets put up 150 points in their last game, but have been installed as a home underdog tonight. Since 1990, teams not favored by 5+ points, that scored 150+ in their previous game, have covered just 38% of the time. Take Dallas. |
03-16-22 | Bruins v. Wild -102 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 9 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Wild over the Boston Bruins. The Bruins had to play a game in nearby Chicago last night so they come to Minneapolis to play a much better Wild team on very short rest. That means back-up goalie Jeremy Swayman will be in net tonight after Linus Ullmark got the start on Tuesday. The Bruins' last back-to-back game -- just their second since January 13 -- was on March 1 and it was also on the road. In that one, they lost to the Ducks in Anaheim, 4-3, a night after beating the Kings in Los Angeles. The Wild look to rebound tonight after losing their last two to the Blue Jackets on the road and Predators at home. They've only lost eight times at Xcel Energy Center this season -- only once in OT. They've been an offensive machine here this season, ranking second in the NHL and first in the West -- even better than the Avs -- in home scoring average at 4.16 GPG. The other good news is that the Wild are 100% healthy right now. The Wild are 37-14 in their last 51 home games and 8-3 in their last 11 playing on two days of rest. Take Minnesota. As always, good luck...Al McMordie |
03-16-22 | Detroit +2.5 v. Florida Gulf Coast | Top | 79-95 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 33 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Mercy Titans + the points over Florida Gulf Coast. The Titans were blown out, 77-59, by Northern Kentucky to end their regular season. We'll take Detroit to rebound tonight, as an underdog vs. the Eagles. Detroit is a stellar 18-3-1 after scoring less than 65 points, and 10-2-1 ATS on the road off a SU/ATS loss. Take Detroit. Good luck, as always....Al McMordie |
03-16-22 | Maryland-Eastern Shore +13.5 v. Coastal Carolina | Top | 42-66 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks + the points over Coastal Carolina. The Hawks have been dominant as an underdog, including 11-1-1 ATS when getting 6+ points, while the Chanticleers are a poor 2-5 ATS as a double-digit favorite. Take the Hawks as a double-digit underdog tonight. |
03-15-22 | Panthers -225 v. Sharks | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 16 h 26 m | Show |
At 10:35 pm, our selection is on the Florida Panthers over San Jose. The Sharks' Zach Sawchenko won his first game in his young career when the Sharks defeated the Kings, 4-3, on Thursday. San Jose turned to goalie Adin Hill in Saturday's 5-0 shutout win, but Sawchenko will be back between the pipes tonight to face a Panthers team looking to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to Los Angeles on Sunday. That was the 3rd straight game Florida gave up more than 2 goals, and they're 21-3 (+16.5 net games on the moneyline) after allowing more than 2 goals in three straight games. Additionally, the Panthers are 26-14 (+10.4 net games) on the road off a loss. Finally, the Sharks are 20-35 (minus 13.9 net games) after scoring 4+ goals. Take Florida. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-15-22 | Pistons v. Heat -12.5 | Top | 98-105 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Detroit. The Heat will conclude its six-game home stand tonight. And it will look to bounce back off its loss to Minnesota, on Saturday. But All-Star Jimmy Butler (toe) didn't play in that game, yet has been upgraded to 'probable' for tonight's match. Detroit also lost its last game, 106-102, at home on Sunday to the Clippers. And that was Detroit's 3rd straight defeat. We'll lay the points, as Miami is 55-37 ATS after failing to cover the spread by 10+ points in its previous game, and 34-16 ATS when playing with more rest than its opponent. Take the Heat. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.d |
03-15-22 | Princeton v. VCU -6.5 | Top | 79-90 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Virginia Commonwealth Rams minus the points over Princeton. Mike Rhoades' Rams were upset by Richmond, 75-64, in the Atlantic 10 tournament. But off that upset loss, we'll take VCU to bounce back here, at home, in the opening round of the NIT tournament. The Rams are 6-1 ATS at home off an upset loss, and they're also 18-9 ATS at home their last 27 off an upset conference loss. Even better: the Rams also lost their final regular season game, and they're 22-0 straight-up, and 18-2-2 ATS at home when priced from PK to -13 if they're off back to back losses. Lay the points with VCU. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-15-22 | USC Upstate +10.5 v. Appalachian State | Top | 80-74 | Win | 100 | 5 h 57 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the South Carolina Upstate Spartans + the points over Appalachian State. The Spartans have been installed as a big underdog tonight vs. the Mountaineers. And we'll happily grab the points -- especially given how well the big underdogs have done in these minor (i.e., not NIT or NCAA) tournaments (e.g., 47-27 ATS when getting 9+ points). Moreover, the Mountaineers have burned money when laying points to an opponent not off a SU/ATS win, as they're 14-35-1 ATS. Take the Spartans + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-14-22 | Wizards +12.5 v. Warriors | Top | 112-126 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 60 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Washington Wizards + the points over Golden State. The Wizards have dropped their first three games of their four-game road trip, as they lost SU/ATS at the Clippers, Lakers, and Trail Blazers. So, we'll look for the 4th time to be the charm, and will take the points with Washington tonight. For technical support, consider that double-digit underdogs have covered 65.5% over the last 32 years off 3 road SU/ATS losses when matched up against a foe off a SU/ATS win. Take Washington + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-14-22 | Wolves v. Spurs +5 | Top | 149-139 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 29 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs + the points over Minnesota. After upsetting the Utah Jazz -- which gave coach Gregg Popovich the all-time wins record -- the Spurs understandably had a letdown in their next game. Indiana upset the Spurs, here, on Saturday, in the Alamo City. So, we'll look for San Antone to bounce back off that home upset loss. San Antonio is 103-71 ATS at home off an upset loss. And it's also a solid 28-9 ATS at home when playing with revenge from a blowout loss by more than 21 points. With the Spurs, indeed, looking to avenge a 25-point loss to the T-Wolves in Minneaopolis earlier this season, we'll take San Antonio + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-13-22 | Flames v. Avalanche -170 | Top | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Avalanche over the Calgary Flames. The Avs have played four of their last five games on the road and perhaps not surprisingly, they're 1-3 in those four as a visiting team. Colorado has done by far its best work at Ball Arena this season where it has the best home record in the Western Conference at 23-3-3. It's back here tonight to face a very good Flames club that has won 16 of 19. The Avs come in off a loss in Raleigh, NC which was notable because the Hurricanes won 2-0, shutting out the Avalanche for the first time all season. This is a revenge situation for the home team as the Flames edged the Avs in OT here, 4-3, just eight days ago (and the Avs are 45-23 in revenge games). In addition to scoring better than four goals per game at home, the Avs' defense has also stepped it up here, allowing just 2.59 GA, which is the fourth best home number in the Conference. As good as the Flames have been lately, this is not an ideal situation for them as they are 1-5 in their last six games as a road underdog. And they had to play last night in Detroit, so #1 goalie Jacob Markstrom will sit in favor of back-up Daniel Vladar. Calgary is 2-4 in Vladar's last six starts, and he's given up 25 goals in those six games. Finally, Colorado is 43-8 in its last 51 home contests. Take the Avs. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |

03-13-22 | Golden Knights -180 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 4-6 | Loss | -180 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over Columbus. The Knights' offense has been largely on hiatus over its last nine games, as it has scored more than 2 goals just twice (both wins). Unfortunately, it has scored 2 or less goals seven times, and has won just once (March 4 vs. Anaheim). The good news for this evening's game is that Columbus almost always gives up 3+ goals. It's true that it only allowed 2 goals on Friday, when it defeated the Wild, 3-2. But it had allowed 3+ goals in its 12 games prior to that, and has allowed 3 or more goals in 18 of its last 20. Given that the Knights are 30-9 this season when they score 3+ goals, that bodes very well for them here. As does the fact that Vegas is 8-1 on the road off back to back losses, and 37-12 after allowing more than 2 goals in back to back games. Take the Golden Knights. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-13-22 | 76ers -11.5 v. Magic | Top | 116-114 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
At 6:10 pm, our selection is on the Philadelphia 76ers minus the points over the Orlando Magic. The 76ers were throttled, 129-100, as a 3.5-point home favorite by the Brooklyn Nets, so they'll look to bounce back off that humiliating loss this evening. We'll lay the points, as teams that failed to cover the spread at home by 30+ points in their previous game have bounced back 72.5% since 1991 when matched up against a foe off a win. And the Magic are, indeed, off a win, as they upset Minnesota, 118-110, as an 8.5-point home dog on Friday. Unfortunately for Orlando, it's a horrid 0-12 SU/ATS as an underdog of 10+ points, if it covered the spread by more than 8 points in its previous game. Take Philly. Good luck, as always....Al McMordie. |
03-12-22 | Kings -130 v. Sharks | Top | 0-5 | Loss | -130 | 11 h 6 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Kings over San Jose. The Kings will look to avenge their 4-3 overtime loss to the Sharks on Thursday. Los Angeles did get off to a great start in that game, and led by a 3-1 margin in the 2nd period before collapsing. That defeat snapped the Kings' 3-game win streak. Still, Los Angeles has won 10 of its last 14, while San Jose has dropped 15 of 20. And the Sharks are 19-35 after a game in which they scored 4+ goals. Take the Kings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-22 | Raptors v. Nuggets -5.5 | Top | 127-115 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
At 9:10 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over Toronto. We played against Denver two nights ago, and got the $$$$ with the Warriors, who won here by 11 points, 113-102. We'll take Denver to bounce back off that loss, as it's 52-31 ATS at home off a home loss by more than 10 points, including an awesome 27-5 ATS when priced from +2 to -7.5 points. Even better: the Nuggets have failed to cover the spread in their last three games. But Denver's 28-7 ATS against .400 (or better) foes, if the Nuggets were on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, including 16-1 ATS as a favorite (and 10-0 ATS if favored by 5+ points). Take Denver. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-22 | Virginia Tech v. Duke -5.5 | Top | 82-67 | Loss | -114 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Duke Blue Devils minus the points over Virginia Tech. Mike Krzyzewski's men are on (for them) a rare 3-game ATS losing streak. Indeed, Duke's generally been solid off an ATS loss, and especially if they won their previous game, as they're 151-113 ATS. And when they're favored by more than 4 points, off 3+ ATS losses, they've gone 19-2 ATS if they also won their previous game, straight-up (and 12-0 ATS if they won the previous two games, straight-up). Lay the points tonight with Duke. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-22 | Wolves v. Heat -5.5 | Top | 113-104 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Minnesota. Both of these teams played last night. The Heat took care of business here, at home, vs. Cleveland, while Minnesota was upset by the Magic, in Orlando. We played on Miami last night, and will come right back with them on Saturday. Yesterday's win by the Heat was their 13th in 16 games (11-5 ATS). Minnesota is also playing good basketball, as it's won six of its last eight SU/ATS. But this is a difficult scheduling spot for the T-Wolves, who will be traveling without rest, and also playing their 3rd game in four nights (all with travel in-between). The Heat, meanwhile, are in the midst of a long seven-game home stand. Lay the points with Miami. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-22 | Texas Southern -3.5 v. Alcorn State | Top | 87-62 | Win | 100 | 7 h 29 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Texas Southern Tigers minus the points over Alcorn State. The Braves won twice vs. Texas Southern in the regular season. And both games were hotly-contested, as the Braves won by 1 at home, and by 3 on the road. We'll take the Tigers to win Round 3, as double-revengers off back-to-back wins have cashed 86% in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tourney. Lay the points with Texas Southern. |
03-12-22 | Texas Tech +2.5 v. Kansas | Top | 65-74 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 28 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders + the points over Kansas. The Red Raiders come into this game off two great defensive performances. They allowed just 41 points in their win against Iowa State on Thursday, and held Oklahoma to just 55 yesterday. For the season, Texas Tech is surrendering a mere 59.9 ppg. We'll take the defensive-minded underdog, as NCAA teams with defensive scoring averages of less than 60 ppg, have cashed 62% in the Conference Tourney Finals since 1990, if they also held their previous two opponents to less than 60 points. Additionally, Texas Tech is a solid 23-13 ATS when playing with revenge. Take the Red Raiders + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-12-22 | Michigan State v. Purdue -6.5 | Top | 70-75 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 8 m | Show |
At 3:30 pm, our selection is on the Purdue Boilermakers minus the points over Michigan State. The Boilermakers (26-6 SU, 13-18-1 ATS) play this game with revenge from a 68-65 loss to the Spartans (22-11 SU, 17-15-1 ATS), in East Lansing. We'll lay the points this afternoon, as Big 10 teams, with losing ATS records, are 75-45 ATS in the Tournament when playing with revenge, including 14-2-1 ATS as a favorite of 2 (or more) points. Take Purdue. |
03-11-22 | Portland State v. Northern Colorado -4 | Top | 79-86 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
At 10 pm, our selection is on the Northern Colorado Bears minus the points over Portland State. The Bears were upset not once, but twice, earlier this season by the Vikings. We'll lay the points with Steve Smiley's troops as Big Sky Tourney favorites have covered 75% if they lost each of the season's prior meetings vs. their opponent. Take Northern Colorado. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Penn State v. Purdue -10 | Top | 61-69 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 1 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Purdue Boilermakers minus the points over Penn State. The Nittany Lions enter tonight's game on a 4-game ATS win streak after upsetting Ohio State, 71-68, yesterday. Meanwhile, the Boilers are 0-6-1 ATS their last seven. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on the hot Nittany Lions, and against the cold Boilermakers. But consider that NCAA favorites of more than 5 points have covered 73% since 1990 in conference tourney games, if they were on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, and their opponent was on a 3-game (or worse) ATS win streak. Take Purdue. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Colorado v. Arizona -9.5 | Top | 72-82 | Win | 100 | 11 h 46 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Arizona Wildcats minus the points over Colorado. The Buffs blew out Oregon, 80-69, yesterday, as a 2-point favorite, while Arizona opened the Tourney with a 4-point win over Stanford. These two teams met just 13 days ago in Boulder. In that game, the Buffaloes stunned the Wildcats, 79-63, as a 9.5-point home underdog. We'll take the Wildcats in this revenge match, as Arizona falls into a 201-109 ATS post-season system of mine which plays on certain favorites of -3 (or more) points that were upset in the previous meeting that season vs. their opponent. Even better: Pac-12 Conference teams (like Colorado) off a win by more than 8 points have gone 2-15-1 ATS vs. revenge-minded foes in the Conference Tourney, if priced from -1 to +11 points. Take Arizona. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Jazz v. Spurs +6 | Top | 102-104 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs + the points over Utah. These two teams have traded road victories in two meetings earlier this season. But San Antonio covered the spread in each game. The Spurs are 24-4 ATS at home vs. Utah when not favored by more than 9 points, including 17-0 ATS if Utah's win percentage was greater than .600. Take San Antone + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Coppin State +1.5 v. North Carolina Central | Top | 79-73 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Coppin State Eagles + the points over North Carolina Central. Coppin State narrowly lost its two meetings this season with NC Central, as it fell by 3 at home, and by 1 on the road. We'll take Coppin State, as double-revenging underdogs have covered 64% in the Mid-Eastern Conference Tourney. Take Coppin State. |
03-11-22 | Mavs -10.5 v. Rockets | Top | 113-100 | Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks minus the points over Houston. The Mavs suffered a humiliating 30-point upset loss at home to the Knicks on Wednesday. We'll take Dallas to rebound tonight, as NBA favorites of -6.5 (or more) points off a home upset loss in which they failed to cover the spread by 30+ points, have cashed 83% vs. foes off a SU win since 1990. Lay the points with Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Cavs v. Heat -6.5 | Top | 105-117 | Win | 100 | 10 h 53 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Cleveland. The Heat's 3-game win streak (and 5-game ATS win streak) ended on Wednesday, as Miami was blown out, 111-90, by Phoenix. We'll take the Heat to bounce back, as they're 40-12 ATS off an upset loss, if they're matched-up against a conference foe off a straight-up win. Take Miami. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Clippers v. Hawks -5.5 | Top | 106-112 | Win | 100 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Atlanta Hawks minus the points over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers blew out the Hawks, 106-93, in Los Angeles earlier this season. We'll take the homestanding Hawks tonight, as they're 94-54 ATS at home when rested, and playing with revenge from a double-digit loss, including 10-0 ATS their last 10 vs. Western Conference foes. Take Atlanta. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-11-22 | Michigan State v. Wisconsin -3 | Top | 69-63 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 15 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Wisconsin Badgers minus the points over Michigan State. Johnny Davis has stated that his ankle -- which he injured vs. Nebraska -- is fine, so that's all we need to pull the trigger on the Badgers this evening. Without an injured Davis, Wisconsin succumbed to Nebraska, 74-73, as a 12.5-point home favorite. But NCAA post-season favorites have cashed 70.3% since 1990 off an upset loss as a 12.5-point (or greater) favorite, if their opponent was off a SU win. Take Wisconsin. |
03-10-22 | Warriors -3 v. Nuggets | Top | 113-102 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show |
At 10:10 pm, our selection is on the Golden State Warriors minus the points over Denver. The Nuggets are in a tough scheduling spot tonight, as they played last night, while Golden State had Wednesday off. And the Warriors will surely be focused tonight, as they have already lost three times to Denver this season, including a 7-point loss last week. We'll take the Warriors in this big revenge situation, as they're 55-29 ATS on the road when playing with revenge, including 7-1 ATS vs. unrested foes. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are a wallet breaking 52-101-1 ATS at home when playing without rest, including 10-26 ATS vs. revenge-minded foes. Lay the points with the Warriors. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-10-22 | UTEP v. Middle Tennessee -2.5 | Top | 59-66 | Win | 100 | 13 h 25 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders minus the points over Texas El Paso. The Miners come into this game off back to back SU/ATS wins, while the Blue Raiders are in off 2 SU/ATS losses. Still, Middle Tennessee was one of the best point spread teams this season, with a 20-7 ATS ledger. UTEP, on the other hand, is a mere 15-14 ATS. Unfortunately for UTEP, this is a bad situation tonight, as UTEP has covered just 5 of 16 Conference Tourney games off 2 SU/ATS wins. That doesn't bode well for the Miners. Nor does the fact that underdogs off back to back SU/ATS Wins have covered just 40.2% over the last 32 years in the post-season vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS losses, including just 23% vs. foes with a winning ATS record. Take Middle Tennessee minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-10-22 | Avalanche -115 v. Hurricanes | Top | 0-2 | Loss | -115 | 4 h 21 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Avalanche over Carolina. Colorado comes into this match-up off a 5-3 upset loss at New Jersey, and it's dropped three of four, overall. We'll look for the Avalanche to bounce back tonight, as they're 25-11 off a road loss, and 13-7 after losing three of their previous four games. And they're 39-18 (+12.5 net games on the moneyline) after allowing more than 3 goals. It's true that the Hurricanes are dominant this season at home, with a 21-6 record. But this will be their first time all season as a home dog. And when they have been favored at home this season by less than -120, they've gone 0-2. Take Colorado. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-10-22 | Louisiana Tech v. Western Kentucky +1.5 | Top | 59-57 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 24 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers over Louisiana Tech. The Hilltoppers have been dominant over the years in the post-season, as they're 56-24-1 ATS their last 81. We'll take Western Kentucky this evening, as it plays with revenge from a narrow 1-point home loss earlier this season. And NCAA teams that lost at home by a single point in the previous meeting have covered 61% in the post-season rematch, provided they weren't getting 3+ points. Take the Hilltoppers. |
03-10-22 | Ball State v. Ohio -7.5 | Top | 67-77 | Win | 100 | 11 h 10 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Ohio U. Bobcats minus the points over Ball State. The Bobcats enter this Mid-American Tourney on a 3-game SU/ATS losing streak. And they were favored in each of those SU losses. We'll lay the points with Ohio, as NCAA teams off 3 upset losses have covered 73% in the post-season since 1990 vs. foes off an ATS loss. Lay the points with the Bobcats. |
03-09-22 | Georgetown +10.5 v. Seton Hall | Top | 53-57 | Win | 100 | 12 h 4 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Georgetown Hoyas + the points over Seton Hall. The Hoyas and Pirates matched-up just seven days ago at Seton Hall. And Kevin Willard's men narrowly escaped with a 73-68 win, as a 13-point home favorite. We'll take Georgetown to avenge that loss, as it's 72.2% ATS as a doubled-digit dog when playing with revenge, including 6-0-1 ATS its last six. Take the Hoyas. |
03-09-22 | Knicks v. Mavs -8 | Top | 107-77 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 40 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks minus the points over New York. The Knicks upset both the Clippers and Kings in their last two games. And they also upset Dallas, 108-85, as a 2.5-point home dog, in January. But that upset win sets up our play tonight, as Dallas is 15-1 ATS this season when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season. And the Mavs also fall into a 115-68 ATS revenge system of mine which plays on certain teams that lost by 20+ points in an earlier meeting. Take Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-22 | Georgia +9.5 v. Vanderbilt | Top | 51-86 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 26 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Georgia Bulldogs + the points over Vanderbilt. The Commodores upset Ole Miss on Saturday, 63-61. But Vandy is a poor 36.3% over the last 32 years as a favorite off an upset road win. Tale Georgia + the points. |
03-09-22 | Capitals v. Oilers -119 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 4 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Edmonton Oilers over the Washington Capitals. The Capitals played very well on the road in Calgary last night against one of the best teams in the league. They've quietly been a force away from DC this season (19-9 overall road record heading into tonight's game). But the Caps also have a bit of a goaltending problem right now with Vitek Vanecek looking very solid as their de-facto #1 but a shaky -- as of late -- Ilya Samsonov backing him up. It's the main reason why there are rumors that DC will be shopping for a net-minder in the time remaining before the deadline. It will be Samsonov tonight in Edmonton, who also just played -- and lost to -- Calgary in the Oilers' last game. These two teams also just played in Washington about a month ago and the Oilers took a 5-3 road victory. The Caps are 1-4 in their last five games when playing without rest, while Edmonton is 21-9 in its last 30 games vs. teams from the Metropolitan. Take the Oilers. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
03-09-22 | Clemson v. Virginia Tech -4.5 | Top | 75-76 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Virginia Tech Hokies minus the points over Clemson. The Hokies are 19-12 SU and 16-15 ATS on the season, but were upset by the Tigers, 63-59, four days ago, at Clemson. We'll take the Hokies in this revenge match, as NCAA teams that lost on the road to an opponent in their previous game, have covered 60% since 1993 in the rematch, if they owned a winning SU/ATS record. Virginia Tech is 11-4 ATS its last 15 vs. Clemson. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-22 | Delaware State +17 v. Norfolk State | Top | 66-74 | Win | 100 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Delaware State Hornets + the points over Norfolk State. Delaware State has been one of the best point spread teams over the past six weeks, as it's 10-2 ATS its last 12. We'll take the double-digits, as underdogs have gone 58-45-2 ATS in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tourney, including 7-1-1 ATS when playing with double-revenge vs. a foe off back to back wins. The Hornets also fall into a 72.2% Conference Tourney system of mine which plays on certain .550 (or worse) teams off 3+ losses vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS wins. Take the Hornets. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-09-22 | New Mexico v. Nevada -5.5 | Top | 72-79 | Win | 100 | 4 h 57 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Nevada Wolf Pack minus the points over New Mexico. Nevada suffered a tough, 1-point loss (as a 4-point underdog) to San Diego State, on Saturday. But we'll take the Wolf Pack to bounce back as they're a fantastic 11-1-1 ATS their last 13 conference games (and 34-12-2 ATS their last 48) when favored by 7 or less points after a straight-up loss, including 11-0 ATS if they covered the spread in their previous game. Take Nevada. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-08-22 | Cal Poly v. UC-Davis -5.5 | Top | 53-63 | Win | 100 | 14 h 44 m | Show |
At 11:30 pm, our selection is on the Cal Davis Aggies minus the points over Cal Poly SLO. The Aggies dropped two road games to end the regular season, while the Mustangs finished with two home wins. But since 1990, NCAA favorites are a solid 60% in conference tourney games off back to back road losses, if they were matched up against an opponent off a SU win. Lay the points with Cal Davis. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-08-22 | Bucks v. Thunder +14 | Top | 142-115 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 25 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma City Thunder + the points over Milwaukee. We played on the Bucks on Sunday in a revenge match vs. Phoenix, and got the $$$$ when they won by 10, as a 9-point favorite. We'll fade Milwaukee tonight, though, as it will be the Thunder who will be playing with revenge. And OKC is 74-47 ATS in the regular season when playing with revenge against a foe off a win (and not an ATS loss). Take OKC. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-08-22 | Coyotes v. Red Wings -168 | Top | 9-2 | Loss | -168 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Red Wings over the Arizona Coyotes. Detroit has dropped five of seven. But its five losses were to the league's elite teams: Minnesota, Colorado, Toronto, Tampa Bay and Florida. Its other two games -- both wins -- were also against excellent clubs (Carolina, NY Rangers). So, this will be the Red Wings' first game in 3 1/2 weeks against a losing club. The Red Wings have been installed as a home favorite. And they're 13-3 this season when PK'em or favored. Even better: the Red Wings are 32-12 at home off back to back division losses, and 30-13 at home off a loss by more than 3 goals. Take the Red Wings. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-08-22 | Pelicans v. Grizzlies -5 | Top | 111-132 | Win | 100 | 10 h 46 m | Show |
At 7:30 pm, our selection is on the Memphis Grizzlies minus the points over New Orleans. Memphis stumbled badly in its last game when it was upset by Houston, as a double-digit favorite. We'll lay the points tonight with Taylor Jenkins' men, as they're 10-0 ATS their last 10 off a road loss. Take the Grizzlies. |
03-08-22 | Nets -2.5 v. Hornets | Top | 132-121 | Win | 100 | 9 h 26 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over Charlotte. The Nets were blown out, 111-95, by the Hornets in Brooklyn earlier this season. But the Nets are a solid 49-23 ATS on the road when playing with revenge from a double-digit home loss. Take the Nets minus the points. |
03-08-22 | Georgia Tech v. Louisville -1.5 | Top | 74-84 | Win | 100 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Louisville Cardinals minus the points over Georgia Tech. The Cardinals enter this ACC Tourney game off three straight ATS defeats, while the Yellow Jackets have covered five of six, including their last two. The knee-jerk reaction might be to take Georgia Tech as an underdog, given Louisville's recent failures. But Georgia Tech is a horrid 16-38 ATS vs. foes on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak if Tech wasn't getting more than 4 points. Even better: NCAA favorites of 4 or less points, with a losing conference record, have covered 67.2% of conference tourney games since 1990. Take Louisville minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-07-22 | San Francisco v. Gonzaga -14 | Top | 71-81 | Loss | -109 | 11 h 35 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Gonzaga Bulldogs minus the points over San Francisco. We have correctly picked the champions of the last two NCAA Tournaments, as we had preseason picks on Virginia (at 22-1 odds) and Baylor (at 12-1 odds). This year, our preseason pick was on Gonzaga (at 7-1 odds). I was actually thrilled that it lost to St. Mary's last week, as one of the last things you want to see is (if you're rooting for a team to win the title) is for it to go into the tournament on a long win streak. Instead, that blowout loss at the hands of the Gaels will allow Mark Few to hit the reset button for his team. I expect it to come out with a much better focus tonight, as Gonzaga is 21-9 ATS following a game it failed to cover by more than 16 points. And the Zags are also 18-11 ATS its last 29 off a loss. Remarkably, Gonzaga has NEVER lost a semi-final round game in the West Coast Conference tournament, as it's 22-0 SU and 14-7-1 ATS, including 10-2-1 ATS when favored by 14 < points. Take Gonzaga. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

03-07-22 | Lakers v. Spurs -2.5 | Top | 110-117 | Win | 100 | 4 h 53 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs minus the points over the Los Angeles Lakers. Once again, the Spurs will attempt to give Gregg Popovich a win, which would enable him to tie Don Nelson for the all-time regular season coaching wins record. The Spurs open up a long home stand tonight, so at some point Popovich will tie (and break) Nelson's record. Tonight, San Antonio will take on its long-time nemesis, the Lakers, who come into tonight's game off a home upset win against Golden State. But Los Angeles is an awful 13-28 ATS off a home win. Lay the points with San Antone. |
03-07-22 | Jazz v. Mavs -2 | Top | 103-111 | Win | 100 | 4 h 52 m | Show |
At 8:40 pm, our selection is on the Dallas Mavericks minus the points over Utah. Utah has won the first two meetings this season vs. Dallas. But each of those games was in Salt Lake City; tonight's game will be played in Texas. And Dallas is 13-2 ATS when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, so that bodes well for the home team. Additionally, Luka Doncic has been upgraded to 'probable' for today's game, which is all we need to pull the trigger on the home-standing Mavericks, who are 10-1 ATS as a home favorite of 6 or less points this season. Take Dallas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-07-22 | Rockets v. Heat -15 | Top | 106-123 | Win | 100 | 3 h 53 m | Show |
At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over the Houston Rockets. Houston comes into this game off a win as a double-digit home underdog. Once again, it's installed as a double-digit dog. Unfortunately, though, the Rockets are 18-33 ATS off a point spread win, while the Heat are 15-7 ATS off back to back ATS wins. Lay the points with Miami. |
03-07-22 | Avalanche -190 v. Islanders | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Avalanche over the New York Islanders. Since the Colorado Avalanche lost to the Blue Jackets in a home-and-home series on November 3 and 6, they hadn't dropped back to back contests -- that is, until this month. The best team in the league just lost its last two against the Flames (in OT) and -- of all teams -- Coyotes. It will now travel east to play its first game in the new UBS Arena on Long Island. The Islanders played a successful game here on Saturday night, upsetting the Blues, 2-1. Back-to-back home wins have been rare for the Isles since they moved into their new home at the end of November. And having to face the best offense in the NHL won't make their task any easier. Colorado's 3.67 goals-scored per road game is the highest such number in the West and third-highest in the league. The Isles have done okay here at home in general (11-11-4) but not when they're the underdog (1-8 in their last nine). They are also 0-7 in their last seven games immediately following a victory. Take the Avalanche. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-07-22 | South Dakota v. South Dakota State -8.5 | Top | 60-83 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits minus the points over South Dakota. The Coyotes upset Missouri-Kansas City yesterday, 74-61, as a 1-point underdog. And that was South Dakota's second straight upset win. Now, the 5th-seeded Coyotes will attempt to knock off #1-seeded South Dakota State. It's true the Jackrabbits were uninspired in their victory on Saturday vs. Omaha. South Dakota State was favored by 23.5 points, but won by just eight, 87-79. However, that's been par for the course this season for South Dakota State. It's been poor when favored by 15+ points (2-8 ATS), but has been stellar when favored by less than 15 (13-4 ATS). We'll look for the Jackrabbits to bounce back today, as favorites with a winning SU/ATS record, off a point spread loss, have covered 58% in the post season vs. foes off back to back upset wins. Take South Dakota State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-07-22 | Wright State v. Cleveland State | Top | 82-67 | Win | 100 | 2 h 11 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Wright State Raiders over Cleveland State. The Vikings swept the season series vs. the Raiders, but that fact has set up Wright State into a 421-290-18 ATS revenge system of mine. Additionally, the Vikings are a woeful 14-32 ATS, while the revenger is 15-1 ATS when not getting more than 7 points vs. a foe off an ATS win. Take Wright State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-06-22 | Western Illinois v. Oral Roberts -6 | Top | 68-80 | Win | 100 | 12 h 38 m | Show |
At 9:30 pm, our selection is on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles minus the points over Western Illinois. When these two teams last met, the Leathernecks upset Oral Roberts, 90-85, as a 7-point road underdog. But prior to that upset loss, the Golden Eagles had won the previous five meetings by an average of 20.2 ppg. We'll lay the points with the Golden Eagles in this revenge match, as ORU falls into 76-40, 116-56 and 61-22 ATS Tourney systems of mine. Additionally, the Leathernecks are a woeful 7-19 ATS when playing a revenge-minded foe they defeated earlier in the season. Take the Golden Eagles. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-06-22 | Samford v. Furman -8.5 | Top | 68-71 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 40 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Furman Paladins minus the points over Samford. The Bulldogs upset the Paladins 11 days ago, 83-75, as a 6-point home dog. But prior to that, Furman had won the previous five meetings by an average of 18.4 ppg, and had gone 4-1 ATS. We'll look for the Paladins to blow out Samford this evening, as the Bulldogs are a wallet-breaking 10-24 ATS when installed as an underdog vs. a revenge-minded foe they defeated earlier in the season. And Furman also falls into one of my favorite revenge angles which is 171-94 ATS since 1990. Take the Paladins. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-06-22 | Stars v. Wild -145 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -145 | 6 h 11 m | Show |
At 4:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Wild over Dallas. After an 11-2 stretch, the Wild have dropped seven of nine, including a 5-4 loss at Buffalo on Friday. We'll look for the Wild to bounce back at home this afternoon, as they're hosting a Dallas team off three straight wins over Buffalo (4-2), Los Angeles (4-3) and Winnipeg (4-3). But the Stars are a poor 7-16 on the road off a win, and 20-37 on the road off back to back wins by 1 goal. Meanwhile, the Wild are 19-5 after allowing more than 3 goals in back to back games. Take Minnesota. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-06-22 | Suns v. Bucks -9 | Top | 122-132 | Win | 100 | 6 h 45 m | Show |
At 3:40 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Phoenix. The Bucks were blown out by 24 points last month in Phoenix. We played on the Suns in that game, which was a big revenge match for them, given the Bucks won last year's NBA Finals against them. But we'll take Milwaukee as the home favorite this afternoon, and go against the 51-12 Suns. For technical support, consider that .783 (or better) NBA teams off a win are a dreadful 43-88-3 ATS at Game 50 forward, when not favored by 4+ points, and playing a rested opponent. Take the Bucks minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-06-22 | Delaware v. Drexel | Top | 66-56 | Win | 100 | 5 h 39 m | Show |
At 2:30 pm, our selection is on the Delaware Blue Hens over Drexel. The Blue Hens are 0-3 SU/ATS their last three coming into this Colonial Athletic Ass'n Tourney game. We'll take Delaware to snap their losing streak, as teams off back to back SU/ATS losses have covered 58.3% in this Tournament since 1991. Take the Blue Hens. |
03-06-22 | NJIT +23.5 v. Vermont | Top | 59-98 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 9 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the New Jersey Tech Highlanders + the points over Vermont. The Catamounts won the two previous meetings by 26 and 23 points, which sets up our revenge play this afternoon. We'll grab the points with New Jersey Tech, as double-digit underdogs have gone 89-57 ATS when playing with revenge from two losses earlier in the season by more than 16 points. Take New Jersey Tech. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-06-22 | UMass Lowell v. Maryland-Baltimore County -2 | Top | 85-93 | Win | 100 | 3 h 10 m | Show |
At 1 pm, our selection is on the Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers minus the points over UMass-Lowell. The River Hawks swept the season series, 2 games to none. But UMBC now falls into 96-56, 419-290 and 44-13 ATS revenge systems of mine. Additionally, the Retrievers are 21-12 ATS in competitively-priced games with spreads less than 4 points, while the River Hawks are 9-13 ATS in such games. Finally, America East Conference double-revengers are 34-18 ATS in this Conference tournament. Lay the points with UMBC. |
03-05-22 | Morehead State v. Murray State -7.5 | Top | 67-71 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 8 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Murray State Racers minus the points over Morehead State. The Racers come into this Ohio Valley Championship game with a 29-2 record, and a 19-game win streak after blowing out Southeast Missouri yesterday. I won't step in front of this freight train, as teams on 9-game (or better) win streaks have covered 58.2% in conference tourney title games since 1992. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-05-22 | Georgia Southern v. Appalachian State -5.5 | Top | 60-73 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
At 8:30 pm, our selection is on the Appalachian State Mountaineers minus the points over Georgia Southern. The Eagles upset Coastal Carolina, 70-64, on Thursday, as a 5-point underdog. But off that win, the Eagles now fall into negative 16-42 and 55-111 ATS systems of mine that fade certain teams in tourney games off upset wins. Georgia Southern is also 1-8 ATS off back to back ATS wins. Take Appalachian State minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-05-22 | 76ers v. Heat -1.5 | Top | 82-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
At 8:10 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Philadelphia. The 76ers defeated Miami here in South Florida, back in January. So, Miami will look to avenge that defeat tonight. We'll lay the points, as Miami is 88-61 ATS as a favorite of 5 or less points, and it's also 7-3 ATS its last 10 vs. the 76ers. Take the Heat. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-05-22 | Spurs +4 v. Hornets | Top | 117-123 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 46 m | Show |
At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs + the points over Charlotte. With a Spurs victory tonight, the Spurs' Gregg Popovich will tie Don Nelson for the all-time record for regular season wins as a head coach. One of the reasons that Popovich is in this position is because he generally gets his troops to avoid long losing streaks. Tonight, the Spurs will look to snap a 3-game losing streak, and they're 36-24 ATS on the road in the regular season off 3+ losses. Take San Antonio + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-05-22 | Northeastern v. William & Mary +7.5 | Top | 68-63 | Win | 100 | 5 h 42 m | Show |
At 5 pm, our selection is on the William & Mary Tribe + the points over Northeastern. This is about as big of a revenge game as a team can have in College Basketball. Less than 10 days ago, the Huskies thoroughly humiliated William and Mary by holding it to just 28 points, in a 62-28 defeat. Needless to say, William and Mary will be out to redeem itself this afternoon. We'll take the points, as William and Mary is an awesome 54-18 ATS when playing with revenge. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-05-22 | Arkansas-Little Rock v. Troy State -9 | Top | 62-69 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 44 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on the Troy Trojans minus the points over Arkansas Little Rock. We played on Little Rock in its last game -- an upset win as a 12.5-point underdog -- over South Alabama. But we will fade Little Rock this afternoon, as Troy is coming off a loss to Texas State. And the Trojans are 9-1 ATS their last 10 off a loss. Lay the points. |
03-05-22 | Marshall +9.5 v. Western Kentucky | Top | 69-78 | Win | 100 | 3 h 43 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on the Marshall Thundering Herd + the points over Western Kentucky. The Herd lost to the Hilltoppers three days ago, 86-72, in Huntington. We'll grab the points in this rematch, as Marshall has covered 58% since 1990 as a revenge-minded, double-digit underdog off a SU/ATS loss (and 86% if they failed to cover the spread by 10+ points in their previous game). Take the Thundering Herd + the points. |
03-05-22 | Pittsburgh +12.5 v. Notre Dame | Top | 54-78 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 15 m | Show |
At 2:30 pm, our selection is on the Pittsburgh Panthers + the points over Notre Dame. The Panthers come into this game off back to back home losses to Miami and Duke. But Pitt is a super 14-3 ATS off back to back home defeats, while Notre Dame is a wallet breaking 27-57 ATS as a home favorite of -10 (or more) points vs. a foe not off an ATS win. Take Pittsburgh + the points. |
03-05-22 | Florida International +11.5 v. Florida Atlantic | Top | 76-84 | Win | 100 | 2 h 46 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Florida International Panthers + the points over Florida Atlantic. This is a rematch of a game played just two days ago. The Owls went into Florida International, and blew out the Panthers, 71-51, as a 5.5 point road favorite. We'll take the points in this rematch, as double-digit road underdogs have covered 63% since 1990 when playing with revenge from a 20-point (or worse) home defeat to their opponent in the previous game. Take Florida International. |
03-05-22 | Indiana v. Purdue -10 | Top | 67-69 | Loss | -109 | 2 h 40 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Purdue Boilermakers minus the points over Indiana. The Boilers will be looking to bounce back this afternoon from losses at Wisconsin and Michigan State. And they'll also be looking to avenge a defeat at Indiana, back in January. We'll lay the points as teams with a .500 (or better) conference record have covered 62.6% since 1990 off back to back SU/ATS losses, if they were playing their final home game of the season, and favored by 6 (or more) points. Even better: Purdue's 30-17 ATS at home off a SU/ATS loss, and 16-4 ATS at home off a point spread defeat if it lost on the road to its opponent earlier in the season. Take the Boilermakers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-04-22 | San Diego v. Portland | Top | 55-73 | Win | 100 | 8 h 52 m | Show |
At 11:30 pm, our selection is on the Portland Pilots minus the points over San Diego. The Favorites have dominated in the West Coast Conference tournament, including 2-0 ATS yesterday, and 74-46 ATS their last 120 when priced at -11 or less. We'll lay the points with the Pilots, as they also fall into a 239-149 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams not favored by double-digits vs. foes off a win. Take Portland. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-04-22 | Western Carolina v. Mercer -6 | Top | 53-81 | Win | 100 | 4 h 53 m | Show |
At 7:30 pm, our selection is on the Mercer Bears minus the points over Western Carolina. The Catamounts upset Mercer less than two weeks ago, 69-65, as a 6-point home dog. And they've now covered three straight games. Unfortunately, the Catamounts are an awful 6-15-1 ATS off back to back ATS wins, including 1-10 ATS vs. foes with a losing conference record. And they're 12-30 ATS when playing a revenge-minded foe they upset in the previous meeting. Take Mercer minus the points. |
03-04-22 | Kings -140 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 31 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Kings over the Columbus Blue Jackets. February was good to the Kings, who went 6-2 in the month which put them right in the mix for the Pacific Division title. At one point between February 18 and 26, L.A. won five in a row. March hasn't started out quite as well for the Kings, who will try to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to the Stars in their last game on Wednesday. They travel to Columbus for the first time since December of 2019 when the Jackets prevailed, 3-2 in overtime. Despite that loss, the Kings have done very well vs. Columbus, taking 19 of the last 28 meetings. The momentum that Columbus has had lately has been somewhat stalled by a myriad of recent injuries. Overall, the Jackets have no fewer than seven regular players out with various ailments, including two of their goaltenders (Korpisalo and Tarasov). These cross-country match-ups have not been good for Columbus who is 0-4 in its last four vs. teams from the Pacific. The favorite is 22-7 in the last 29 meetings of these two. Take the Kings. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-04-22 | Eastern Michigan +9.5 v. Miami-OH | Top | 63-76 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 24 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Eastern Michigan Eagles + the points over Miami-Ohio. The RedHawks are one of the worst home favorites in college basketball, as they're 21-41-2 ATS including 0-10 ATS when priced from -7 to -10.5 points. Take Eastern Michigan as a road underdog. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-04-22 | Bowling Green +16 v. Toledo | Top | 56-96 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 55 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Bowling Green + the points over Toledo. The Rockets upset Buffalo, 92-76, on Tuesday. But off that upset win, we'll fade Toledo this evening, as .636 (or better) Mid-American Conference favorites of more than 4 points, are a dismal 31-67 ATS in home conference games off an upset road win. Take Bowling Green + the points. |
