The National League wild-card game is set for Wednesday, and the New York Mets will host the San Francisco Giants. A spot in the NLDS will be on the line. The Mets won four of seven meetings with the Giants during the regular season.

The Giants go with Madison Bumgarner (15-9, 2.74 ERA), who went 7.1 innings in a 9-3 home win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in his last start. Bumgarner scattered three runs with eight hits, striking out five with a walk. Bumgarner, a former NLCS and World Series MVP as well as a three-time World Series champion, won both starts against the Mets this season, posting an ERA of 3.27. He’s tough to beat in the postseason, with a 0.60 ERA in road playoff games.

The Mets counter with Noah Syndergaard (14-9, 2.60 ERA ERA), who tossed six innings of five-hit ball in a 12-1 rout of Miami on the road in his last start. Syndergaard gave up a run and struck out eight with no walks. He split a pair of starts against the Giants with an ERA of 2.63. However, that 1-6 loss came against Bumgarner in May. The 24-year-old is 6-6 in 17 home starts with a 2.87 ERA.
