03-06-19 | Florida International v. Marshall -7 | Top | 78-94 | Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Marshall Thundering Herd minus the points over Florida International. This game is part of a new regular-season scheduling format employed by Conference USA. The new format was motivated to give its better teams an opportunity to garner more wins against stronger competition, in order to provide them with an increased chance to make the NCAA Tournament. For the Conference's final four games of the season, teams are grouped according to their W/L records, and play teams within their group. And whether a game is played at home, or on the road is determined by a pre-set formula. Thus, when teams play a Conference opponent twice in the regular season, there will be a 50% chance that one of the teams will have had both of the meetings at home. And that's the case in this game, tonight. Marshall already defeated Florida International, 105-97, when these two teams met here, in Huntington, in January. The Herd was laying 9 points for that game. But the point spread is more favorable this evening due, in part, to the fact that Florida International comes into this game off 3 straight upset wins. Unfortunately for the Panthers, single-digit underdogs off 3 upset wins, have covered just 77 of 194 games. Take Marshall to blow out Florida International. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |

03-05-19 | Virginia Tech v. Florida State -4.5 | Top | 64-73 | Win | 100 | 13 h 60 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Florida State Seminoles minus the points over Virginia Tech. The Hokies upset Duke, 77-72, as a 3-point underdog in their last game. Unfortunately, road teams have covered just 40% of the time after upsetting Duke over the past 29 seasons. And the Hokies also fall into a 58-100 ATS letdown system of mine which goes against certain teams off upset victories. Take Florida State. |
03-05-19 | USC Upstate +14 v. Charleston Southern | Top | 52-71 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 59 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the South Carolina Upstate Spartans + the points over Charleston Southern. The Buccaneers have been installed as a big, double-digit favorite tonight in this Big South Conference Tournament game. However, Big South Conference favorites of more than 6 points have cashed just 38.2% in the Tournament. Additionally, the Spartans fall into two of my favorite Tourney systems, with records of 84-44 and 75-33 ATS since 1990. Finally, the Buccaneers have covered just two of their last 13 off a straight-up win. Take South Carolina Upstate. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-05-19 | Nebraska +14 v. Michigan State | Top | 76-91 | Loss | -109 | 13 h 59 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Nebraska Cornhuskers + the points over Michigan State. We played against MSU on Saturday, and got the cash with Indiana, which upset the Spartans as a 6-point underdog. We'll go against the Spartans again tonight, as they've covered just 29.4% off an upset loss, when priced from -12.5 to -22 points. The Spartans also fall into several negative systems of mine that go against certain teams off losses, with records of 132-234, 47-97 and 31-74 ATS, while Nebraska falls into a very good 509-292 ATS system which plays on certain teams off blowout losses (Nebraska lost by 29 in its last game). Take the Cornhuskers. |
03-04-19 | Bucks -12.5 v. Suns | Top | 105-114 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Milwaukee Bucks minus the points over Phoenix. The Suns upset the Lakers, 118-109, as a 7-point home underdog in their previous game. But off that upset win, we will fade Phoenix tonight, as double-digit home dogs have covered just 24.5% since 1990 off wins as a home dog (or PK). Also, Malcolm Brogdon and Eric Bledsoe should be back in action tonight, after sitting out Milwaukee's loss to the Utah Jazz. That's enough for us to pull the trigger on Monday on a big play on the Bucks. Lay the points. NBA GAme of the Week. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-04-19 | Hawks v. Heat -8.5 | Top | 113-114 | Loss | -108 | 8 h 39 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Miami Heat minus the points over Atlanta. We played on the Hawks yesterday in Chicago, and easily got the cash when the Hawks won outright, as a 4-point underdog. But off that upset win on the road, we'll fade the Hawks tonight in Miami. Atlanta's covered just 36.6% since 1990 on the road, if it upset its opponent in the previous meeting. And the Hawks did upset the Heat in the last meeting, as they won, 106-82, as a 6.5-point home underdog. Lay the points with the Heat. Southeast Division Game of the Month. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-03-19 | Flyers v. Islanders -154 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -154 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Islanders over the Philadelphia Flyers. The Isles played one of their biggest games of the season on Friday when they faced the Capitals at home and for two periods, they were beating the Defending Cup Champions. Nobody knows the Caps better than Isles coach Barry Trotz, but he and his team couldn't hold that lead in the third period and the Caps got out of New York with a hard-fought 3-1 victory. The Isles will be happy to see the Flyers, with their losing record, on Sunday. Philly has a goalie problem right now as it must rely on either Brian Elliott or Cam Talbot with both #1 Michal Neuvirth and red-hot rookie Carter Hart sidelined with injuries. Speaking of hot goalies, veteran journeyman Robin Lehner has resurrected his career with the Islanders and is having his best season ever, with a league-leading 2.07 GAA and .931 saves pct. in 34 starts. With Thomas Greiss going against the Caps on Friday, Lehner should be back in goal today. The Isles are a solid 23-13 (+14 games on the money line) in their last 36 off of a loss to a division foe, while Philly's an awful 4-16 its last 20 after scoring more than four goals in its previous game. Take New York. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-03-19 | Tulane +17 v. Temple | Top | 69-80 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Tulane Green Wave + the points over Temple. These two teams met in New Orleans, back on February 2, and the Green Wave covered the spread as a double-digit underdog. I look for Tulane to once again get the $$$, as Temple is a horrid 3-25 ATS vs. foes with a win percentage less than .600, if Temple was favored at home by more than 10 points. Take the points with the Green Wave. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-03-19 | UTEP +3 v. Charlotte | Top | 58-68 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
At 1 pm, our selection is on the Texas El Paso Miners + the points over Charlotte. The 49ers are 6-20 on the season, and have yet to cover the point spread as a favorite (0-3 ATS). They lost earlier this season in El Paso, but I don't look for them to avenge that defeat, as they're a poor 3-13 ATS when playing with same-season revenge. Finally, UTEP falls into a strong 96-47 ATS system of mine. Take the Miners. Good luck, as always....Al McMordie. |
03-02-19 | Pelicans v. Nuggets -12.5 | Top | 120-112 | Loss | -106 | 11 h 41 m | Show |
At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over New Orleans. Last night the Pelicans blew out Phoenix, 130-116. However, we will play against New Orleans tonight, as unrested NBA teams off a win, have covered just 31.5% vs. .545 (or better) teams off a loss. Take Denver. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-02-19 | Stars v. Blues -160 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -160 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the St. Louis Blues over the Dallas Stars. The Blues were the hottest team in the League in February, winning 11 games in a row at one point -- starting on January 23 and continuing through February 17. Since then, the Blues have been treading water a bit, going 2-3 in their last five. Last night they lost to a very good (and also red-hot) Hurricanes team in Raleigh and tonight they will be attempting to avenge one of those other losses. On February 21, St. Louis went into Dallas and lost to the Stars badly, 5-2. The Blues are 14-9 (+5 games on the money line) in their last 23 when playing with revenge from a blowout loss by more than 2 goals. The Stars have been alternating wins and losses over their last six games, with their latest being a 4-3 OT victory over the Kings in Los Angeles on Thursday. Their biggest problem right now is the myriad of injuries they've sustained, with the two biggest names being LW Jamie Benn (upper body) and RW Mats Zuccarello (arm). Dallas is 28-41 (-23 games on the money line) in its last 69 after scoring 4+ goals in its previous game. Take the Blues. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-02-19 | Pistons -7.5 v. Cavs | Top | 129-93 | Win | 100 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Pistons minus the points over Cleveland. The Cavaliers won, 125-118, at New York, on Thursday. But off that upset win, we will fade Cleveland vs. Detroit this afternoon. One of the things I love to do in the NBA is go against certain bad teams off wins. And this game definitely fits the bill, as Cleveland has won just 24% of its games this season. And, since 1990, NBA teams that have won less than 25 percent of their games have cashed just 137 of 327 games as a home underdog when they won their previous game. Take Detroit. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-02-19 | Michigan State v. Indiana +6.5 | Top | 62-63 | Win | 100 | 2 h 39 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Indiana Hoosiers + the points over Michigan State. The Spartans upset their rival, Michigan, last weekend. But off that victory, I expect a letdown this afternoon in Bloomington, as Michigan State falls into a negative 58-99 ATS system of mine which goes against certain teams off upset wins. Also, Indiana is a strong 27-14 ATS as a home underdog when it didn't have a losing record. Take the Hoosiers. NCAA Hoops High Noon Hanging. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
03-01-19 | Avalanche v. Sharks -190 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 18 h 1 m | Show |
At 10:35 pm, our selection is on the San Jose Sharks over the Colorado Avalanche. The Sharks return home from a tough four-game road trip that included games in Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Boston (they got a bit of a break in the fourth one which was in Detroit). They're still chasing the Flames for the top spot in the Pacific, but can feel pretty good about the playoffs at this point, sitting a healthy 11 points ahead of third-place Vegas. They should be pleased to see that this opening game of their 4-game home stand is against the Avalanche, a team they've dominated here. Colorado is just 4-22 in its last 26 visits to Silicon Valley, a trend which the Sharks hope will continue tonight. Few teams in the league have been as tough at home this season as the Sharks, who are 19-5-5 in 29 games at SAP Center. The Avs squeaked out a 3-2 SO win at home over the Canucks in their last game, but only managed two goals in regulation on 45 shots. We'll take the home team, as the Sharks are a solid 24-9 (+14 games on the money line) in their last 33 after a blowout loss by three goals or more in their previous game. And they're 20-5 at home after giving up more than 2 goals in each of their two previous games. Take San Jose. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
03-01-19 | Cornell +12 v. Yale | Top | 65-88 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 25 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Cornell Big Red + the points over Yale, as Cornell falls into 411-220, 97-46, 175-85 and 234-130 ATS systems of mine. These two teams met 13 days ago in Ithaca, and the Bulldogs came away with a six-point win, 98-92. We'll grab the points with the Big Red, as Ivy League road underdogs are 106-79-1 when playing with same-season revenge, if they're off back to back losses. With Cornell off 3 straight defeats, we'll take the points with the road underdog. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-28-19 | Jazz v. Nuggets -7 | Top | 111-104 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
At 10:35 pm, our selection is on the Denver Nuggets minus the points over Utah. The Nuggets will have an advantage tonight, given that Utah played last night, while Denver was rested. And that fact is key for one of my systems, which is 222-102 ATS, which plays on certain rested teams vs. unrested foes. Even better: the road team hasn't won any of the last 10 meetings between these two teams, and hasn't covered the point spread in any of the games, either (0-9-1 ATS). That bodes well for the Nuggets tonight. Finally, Utah has covered just 16 of 49 as a road underdog, priced from +3 to +8.5 points, while Denver is 12-1 SU and 10-3 ATS at home when rested, and playing an unrested foe. Take the Nuggets. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-28-19 | Western Illinois v. Denver -2 | Top | 46-74 | Win | 100 | 15 h 20 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Denver Pioneers minus the points over Western Illinois. The Leathernecks blew out Denver earlier this season, 78-60, at home. We'll take the Pioneers tonight in this revenge situation, as they also come into this game on a 7-game SU/ATS losing streak. However, since 1990, teams off 3+ SU/ATS losses have cashed 65.7% as a favorite, if they were playing with revenge from an 18-point (or worse) defeat earlier in the season. Moreover, Western Illinois defeated Oral Roberts last Saturday, 75-66, as a 2-point home favorite. But it's a poor 29-50 ATS as a road underdog, and 14-30-2 ATS off a point spread win. Take Denver. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-28-19 | Flyers v. Blue Jackets -185 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 15 h 0 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Columbus Blue Jackets over the Philadelphia Flyers. After back-to-back shutouts over the Senators and Sharks, the Jackets ran up against the Penguins on Tuesday and were soundly beaten, 5-2. The NHL trade deadline just passed and no team was as active as the Blue Jackets. Columbus added Ryan Duchene and Ryan Dzingel from Ottawa in separate deals, then added Adam McQuaid from the Rangers and Keith Kinkaid from the Devils. The Jackets also elected to hold onto winger Artemi Panarin and goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, two organizational pillars that were discussed as potential trade pieces due to their expiring contracts. The Jackets have been in the league for 20 years without a single playoff series victory, so their aggressive deadline deals seem to signal that they believe this is their best chance to win a Cup. What better way to debut their new lineup than to play a Flyers team that they have dominated lately as the Jackets are 4-0 in the last four meetings, and 12-1 their last 13 meetings here, at home. Columbus is also 12-5 in its last 17 after a loss by two or more goals in its previous game. Take the Jackets. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-27-19 | Wyoming +18 v. Fresno State | Top | 60-71 | Win | 100 | 16 h 5 m | Show |
At 10 pm, our selection is on the Wyoming Cowboys + the points over Fresno State. The Cowboys have lost their last four games to the point spread, and have dropped their last three games, straight-up. Wyoming falls into several of my favorite systems, with records of 339-211, 410-220, 415-248, 83-27 and 174-85 ATS. We'll grab the points with Wyoming, as Mountain West underdogs of +13.5 (or more) points are 157-103-3 ATS vs. winning opponents that are not off a double-digit loss. Take the Cowboys. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-27-19 | Canucks v. Avalanche -168 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 16 h 42 m | Show |
At 9:35 pm, our selection is on the Colorado Avalanche over the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks somehow snapped a three-game losing streak in their last game despite several injuries which have left them depleted -- especially on the blue line. The fact that their last game was against the woeful Ducks no doubt helped immensely as the Canucks notched their first shutout of the season, 4-0, while registering only 29 shots. They will likely need to do much better than that tonight with their top two defensemen -- Chris Tanev and Alexander Edler -- on the shelf. The firepower of the Avs' offense has been on display lately with 20 goals scored in the last four games and it will likely be able to exploit the losses on Vancouver's back line tonight at home. The Avs lost a tough one in their last, 4-3, in OT to Florida. But prior to that, they had beaten the Jets, Blackhawks, and Predators by a combined score of 17-4. They are also avenging an embarrassing loss to Vancouver, 5-1, here on February 2. Vancouver is 8-21 (-14 games on the money line) in their last 29 off a home win in which it scored four or more goals. Take the Avalanche. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-27-19 | Indiana State +6.5 v. Drake | Top | 68-80 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 6 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Indiana State Sycamores + the points over Drake. These two teams met last month in Terre Haute, and the Bulldogs edged Indiana State, 68-62. We'll take the underdog Sycamores in this revenge role, as they are 23-8-1 their last 32 when playing with revenge on the road from a home defeat earlier in the season. Additionally, Indiana State falls into a super 124-61 ATS system of mine. Take the Sycamores. |
02-27-19 | Clemson v. Pittsburgh +4.5 | Top | 62-48 | Loss | -108 | 13 h 6 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Pitt Panthers + the points over Clemson. The Panthers have lost 10 straight games -- both SU and ATS. But this (very) long losing streak has set up the Panthers in 161-88 and 69-29 ATS "contrarian" systems of mine that play on certain teams on long losing streaks. Moreover, Clemson is a poor 37-61 ATS on the ACC Conference road off a win over an ACC Conference rival. Take Pittsburgh + the points. |
02-26-19 | Thunder +3.5 v. Nuggets | Top | 112-121 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 43 m | Show |
At 10:35 pm, our selection is on the Oklahoma City Thunder + the points over Denver. The Thunder dropped the last meeting between these two teams -- also here in Denver -- as the Thunder lost 109-98, as a 2-point road favorite. At this point in the season, this is a "must win" for the Thunder, as they sit three games behind the Nuggets in the race for the Northwest division lead. Oklahoma City comes into this game off an upset loss, at home, to Sacramento, and has dropped three straight to the point spread. The good news, though for OKC is that it's a powerful 69-36 ATS on the road off an upset home defeat. And OKC is also 45-25 ATS when playing with revenge from an upset loss, if OKC owned a .625 (or better) win percentage. The Thunder also fall into 55-14 and 77-36 ATS revenge systems of mine. Take OKC. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-26-19 | Stars v. Golden Knights -184 | Top | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 16 h 41 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over the Dallas Stars. Like their 2018 Finals counterparts in the East (the Capitals), the Golden Knights are going to have to find some consistency if they are to have a chance to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals in three months. Vegas is barely over .500 right now (32-31) and currently sits in the third playoff spot in the Division, just two points from falling into the Wild Card. The team that is immediately behind the Knights is tonight's opponent, the Dallas Stars. In its short history, this series has been dominated by the Knights, as they have taken three of four meetings, including the most recent one here on the Strip, last December, by a score of 4-2. They've lost three straight coming into tonight's game, despite out-shooting their opponents in all three of those. So, the Knights will look for the kind of performance they had here on February 16 when they fired 50 shots on goal, and crushed the Predators, 5-1. The Stars did beat the Blackhawks in their previous game, 4-3, but they are just 2-8 (-9 games on the money line) in their last 10 coming off of a one-goal win over a division rival. And they're 5-14 on the road after scoring more than 3 goals in their previous game. Finally, this will be Dallas' 3rd game in four nights. And it's an awful 8-23 on the road in that scheduling situation. Take Vegas. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-26-19 | Arkansas +17 v. Kentucky | Top | 66-70 | Win | 100 | 15 h 39 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Arkansas Razorbacks + the points over Kentucky. The Razorbacks come into this game on a 5-game losing streak. And they also lost those five games against the point spread. But the good news for Razorback backers tonight is that SEC Conference teams have gone 175-122 ATS off 4+ point spread defeats, including 29-10 ATS as a double-digit underdog. The Razorbacks also fall into one of my favorite systems, which is 409-220 ATS since 1990 (and 14-7 ATS this year). Take Arkansas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-26-19 | St. Louis +10.5 v. VCU | Top | 65-71 | Win | 100 | 13 h 5 m | Show |
At 7:30 pm, our selection is on the St Louis Billikens + the points over VCU. The Rams are on an 8-game SU/ATS winning streak. But this hot stretch has placed the Rams into a negative 61-121 ATS system of mine. This will be a tough game for VCU to cover, as the Billikens lost, 70-62, on Saturday at Dayton, as a 6-point underdog. And the Billikens are a jaw-dropping 16-0 ATS off a straight-up loss as a road underdog. Take St. Louis. |
02-26-19 | Iowa v. Ohio State -2 | Top | 70-90 | Win | 100 | 13 h 35 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Ohio State Buckeyes minus the points over Iowa. The Hawkeyes have been a horrid road team over the last 3+ years, as they're 11-24 straight-up, and 9-25-1 ATS their last 35 road games, including 1-7 ATS if they were off back to back home games. That doesn't bode well for the Hawkeyes tonight. As does the fact that the Buckeyes are 10-3 ATS at home when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season. Take Ohio State. |
02-25-19 | Oilers v. Predators -235 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 14 h 58 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Nashville Predators over the Edmonton Oilers. Amazingly, the Oilers have only had one winning season in over 30 years. And by the looks of things, this season will not be their second. The team that was once so dominant -- winning five Stanley Cups in a seven-year span in the 80's -- is just 26-35 and in sixth place in the Pacific Division. But they did something almost as rare as having a winning season in their last match-up with the Predators four months ago. They won. And it was the first victory for Edmonton over Nashville in 14 meetings going back to October of 2014. The Oilers also won their last game, 2-1 over the Ducks despite being out-shot by a 34-21 margin. The Preds do very well in these situations as they are 53-27 (+18 games on the money line) in their last 80 when revenging a same season loss vs. an opponent. They are also 31-15 (+9 games on the money line) in their last 46 coming off of a home loss. Take Nashville. As always, good luck...Al McMordie |
02-25-19 | Pacers v. Pistons -2.5 | Top | 109-113 | Win | 100 | 13 h 59 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Pistons minus the points over Indiana. The Pistons are playing some of their best basketball of the season. They've won six of seven (5-2 ATS) to move into 7th place in the Eastern Conference. Tonight, they'll take on division-leading Indiana, which blew out the Pistons by 37 back in late December. Since 1990, .438 (or better) NBA favorites, playing with revenge from a 30+ point loss, are an awesome 45-18-1 ATS vs. winning teams off a SU/ATS win. Take Detroit. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-24-19 | Spurs -8.5 v. Knicks | Top | 118-130 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 57 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the San Antonio Spurs minus the points over the NY Knicks. The Spurs lost a heartbreaker in Toronto on Friday, which dropped them to 1-5 on their annual Rodeo Road Trip this season. They have two games remaining: tonight in New York City, and Monday in Brooklyn. I look for the Spurs to bounce back off Friday's defeat, as they're 96-59-4 ATS in the regular season on the road if they lost at least two of their three previous games. And they're also 15-5 ATS vs. the Knicks when priced from -6 to -11, including 5-1 ATS off a loss. Lay the points with San Antone. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-24-19 | California +19 v. Arizona State | Top | 59-69 | Win | 100 | 11 h 30 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the California Golden Bears + the points over Arizona State. The Bears come into this game off back to back losses by 23+ points. And they failed to cover the point spread by 16.5 and 11.5 points in those two defeats. In contrast, Arizona State comes into this game off back to back SU/ATS wins. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on the 'hot' Sun Devils and against the 'cold' Bears. But NCAA Basketball teams off back to back 23-point (or worse) SU/ATS losses, in which they failed by 10+ ATS, have covered 68% vs. foes off back to back SU/ATS wins. Take Cal + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-24-19 | Drake v. Illinois State -2 | Top | 60-67 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Illinois State Redbirds minus the points over Drake. This has been a one-sided series, of late. Since February 2013, the Redbirds have won 11 of the 12 meetings (9-3 ATS), including the game played earlier this season, in Des Moines. Admittedly, the Redbirds are not playing great basketball at the moment, as they're on a 5-game losing streak (and an 0-3 ATS run). However, Missouri Valley Conference home teams have cashed 58.5% off 3 SU/ATS losses. Take Illinois State. |
02-24-19 | Green Bay v. IUPU-Indianapolis -5 | Top | 68-79 | Win | 100 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
At 1 pm, our selection is on the IUPUI Jaguars minus the points over Wisconsin-Green Bay. The Phoenix come into this road game off three SU/ATS wins over Oakland, Detroit and Illinois-Chicago. But we will fade them in this game, as they're a horrid 3-15 ATS away from home off 3 conference wins. And they're 10-22 ATS away from home in Conference games, if they won ATS in their two previous games. Take IUPUI. |
02-24-19 | Rangers v. Capitals -202 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 54 m | Show |
At 12:35 pm, our selection is on the Washington Capitals over the New York Rangers. The Caps return home from a six-game road trip that was moderately successful. They had a chance to go 4-2 on the trip, but fell to the Sabres yesterday in Buffalo, 5-2. The very inconsistent Braden Holtby continued in that vein as the Stanley Cup-winning goalie allowed four goals on 41 shots yesterday in the loss. With the quick turnaround today, look for back-up Pheonix Copley to mind the net for the home team. Copley has had arguably a better season than the more experienced Holtby, with a 13-5-3 record in 22 games (19 starts), a 2.97 GAA and a .904 saves percentage. Copley has also won his last three starts -- two against the Kings and one against the Avalanche. And he beat the Rangers in his only other career start against them which was this season back on November 24, 5-3, in New York. The Rangers went with back-up Alexandar Georgiev in net yesterday in their win against the Devils, so Henrik Lundqvist should be starting today. Unfortunately for the Rangers, they're 0-4 in the last four trips to DC. Take the Capitals. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | San Diego State v. UNLV +1.5 | Top | 60-59 | Win | 100 | 13 h 49 m | Show |
At 10 pm, our selection is on the UNLV Runnin' Rebels + the points over San Diego State. We played on SDSU on Thursday, and got the $$$ when the Aztecs upset Nevada (which is 24-2), 65-57, as an 8-point home underdog. Unfortunately for San Diego State, road favorites have covered just 30% of conference games over the last 29 years after pulling off a home upset as an underdog of +7.5 (or more) points. Indeed, just two nights ago, this system had an easy winner with Elon +1.5 over NC Wilmington after Wilmington pulled off an upset as a 9-point home underdog over Hofstra last Saturday. Take the Runnin' Rebels + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | Canadiens v. Maple Leafs -175 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 1 h 39 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over Montreal. The Maple Leafs are on their longest losing streak of the season, as they fell for the 3rd straight game this past Thursday in a 3-2 loss to Washington. The good news for tonight's game is that Toronto is 8-1 at home its last nine when it was on a 3-game (or worse) losing streak. The Leafs will also be happy to see their Canadian rivals tonight, as the Leafs have won six straight in this series. And that's not much of a surprise given how poor the Canadiens have played lately with double-revenge (16-41). Montreal's lost its last three road games by a combined score of 12-4, and I expect another blowout this evening. Take the Maple Leafs. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | Northern Illinois +9.5 v. Toledo | Top | 54-57 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Northern Illinois Huskies + the points over Toledo. The Huskies are currently riding a 5-game SU/ATS losing streak, which started with a home loss to these Rockets. But I love the Huskies as a big underdog this evening, as they're a sensational 78-44 ATS as an underdog of more than 7 points off a loss, including 35-15 ATS if their opponent owned a winning SU/ATS record. And they're 22-9 ATS away from home if they were on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak. Northern Illinois falls into a 151-73 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams on 5-game (or worse) ATS losing streaks, as well as a 113-53 ATS angle. Take the Huskies + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | Wofford v. Furman -1 | Top | 72-64 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the Furman Paladins over Wofford. The Terriers are 15-0 SU in Southern Conference play this season. But don't be surprised if Furman hands Wofford its first conference defeat, as it's red-hot as well, with a 6-0 SU/ATS mark in its last six games. And Furman's hot streak has set it up in 67-41 and 231-128 ATS systems of mine. The Paladins also play this game with revenge from a 5-point loss to Wofford back in January. And Furman is 15-2 ATS (including 10-1 ATS at home), if it lost a season's previous meeting to its opponent. Take the Paladins. |
02-23-19 | Florida State +7 v. North Carolina | Top | 59-77 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
At 3:45 pm, our selection is on the Florida State Seminoles + the points over North Carolina. This is a tough spot for the Tar Heels. They're ripe for a letdown following their big upset of rival Duke, as a 10-point underdog, earlier this week. And the Tar Heels are a poor 2-8 ATS their last 10 vs. .760 (or better) foes, if the Tar Heels are off an upset win. Moreover, Florida State has won eight straight, and covered their last five. And Florida State also falls into 155-74 and 134-60 ATS systems of mine. Take the Seminoles + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | Georgia +10.5 v. Ole Miss | Top | 71-72 | Win | 100 | 6 h 13 m | Show |
At 3:30 pm, our selection is on the Georgia Bulldogs + the points over Mississippi. It's true that the Rebels have been terrific this season, with an 18-8 record, and a 19-7 ATS ledger. But Ole Miss has covered just 16 of 43 home games when favored by 9+ points, if it had a winning SU/ATS record. Moreover, this SEC Conference series has been dominated by the Bulldogs, as they're 26-10 ATS in the last 36 meetings. Take Georgia. |
02-23-19 | Iowa State -1.5 v. TCU | Top | 72-75 | Loss | -108 | 5 h 48 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Iowa State Cyclones minus the points over TCU. The Cyclones play this game with revenge from an upset loss at home two Saturdays ago to these Horned Frogs. But ISU is a staggering 22-0 ATS when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, if it was priced in the current game from +1 to -5.5 points. Even better: the Cyclones fall into a 113-74 ATS revenge system of mine. Take the Cyclones. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | Central Michigan v. Ball State -5 | Top | 64-57 | Loss | -108 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Ball State Cardinals minus the points over Central Michigan. The Chippewas are 7-0-1 ATS in their last eight games. But this ATS hot streak has actually placed the Chips into a negative 99-167 ATS system of mine. Even worse: Central Michigan lost earlier this season to Ball State. But the Chips have been horrible in a revenge role when priced as an underdog of less than 7 points, as they're 8-28 SU and 11-24-1 ATS. Take Ball State. |
02-23-19 | West Virginia +12.5 v. Baylor | Top | 75-82 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the WVU Mountaineers + the points over Baylor. The Bears upset Iowa State, 73-69, as a double-digit underdog in their previous game. But that upset win has triggered a negative 81-160 ATS letdown system of mine. Also, Baylor is a horrid 6-18 ATS, including 0-7 ATS their last seven, as a regular season home favorite priced from -10 to -18.5 points. Take WVU. |
02-23-19 | Devils v. Rangers -145 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 4 h 54 m | Show |
At 1:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Rangers over the New Jersey Devils. With their 4-0 victory on Thursday, the Devils have now won three of their last four games. But those three wins have come against the Senators, Wild, and Sabres -- three losing teams with a combined record of 78-103. Now they head to New York for a Saturday Matinee in a place that has not been kind them recently. New Jersey is 1-4 in the last five visits to Madison Square Garden and the home team is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings of these two. Meanwhile, the Rangers have been treading water lately, having alternated wins and losses over their last eight games, with their last effort being a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Wild. Already thin on the left side with the injury to Taylor Hall, the Devils had LW Miles Wood return recently, only to have him go back on the shelf after an injury on Thursday night against the Senators. The Devils are 3-10 (-10 games on the money line) in their last 13 coming off of a blowout win by three goals or more. And the Rangers are 35-21 (+19 games on the money line) in their last 56 off of a home loss. Take New York. As always, good luck...Al McMordie |
02-23-19 | Tennessee v. LSU +2 | Top | 80-82 | Win | 100 | 3 h 46 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the LSU Tigers + the points over Tennessee. The Tigers fall into several super angles of mine, with records of 133-68, 157-84 and 146-80 ATS. Additionally, the home underdog has gone 5-2 ATS in this series. And LSU is an awesome 9-0-1 ATS in competitively-priced SEC Conference games with a line of 4 points or less. Take LSU. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-23-19 | Texas +4 v. Oklahoma | Top | 67-69 | Win | 100 | 3 h 45 m | Show |
At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Texas Longhorns + the points over Oklahoma. The Longhorns fall into several strong systems of mine, with records of 140-64, 89-28 and 121-60 ATS. Texas comes into this game on a 5-1 ATS run, including a 12-point SU/ATS win over Oklahoma State last Saturday. And the Longhorns are a super 12-2 ATS on the road off a double-digit win, while Oklahoma is a poor 3-14 ATS vs. Big 12 Conference foes off a double-digit win, if the Sooners weren't getting more than 2 points. With the Longhorns 23-13 ATS in this series, we'll grab the points with Texas today. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-22-19 | St. Peter's +6 v. Marist | Top | 65-59 | Win | 100 | 6 h 36 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the St Peter's Peacocks + the points over Marist, as St. Peter's falls into 230-164, 143-79 and 107-59 ATS systems of mine, based, in part, on their 8-game losing streak. But the Peacocks can gain confidence from the fact they already drilled the Red Foxes, 72-63, at home back on January 13. St. Peter's is also a solid 51-28 ATS on the road off an ATS loss. Finally, Marist comes into off back to back upset wins on the road. Unfortunately, over the past 29 years, home favorites off back to back upset road wins, have covered just 40.7% vs. foes off back to back losses. Take St. Peter's + the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-22-19 | Bowling Green v. Ohio +4.5 | Top | 87-92 | Win | 100 | 5 h 5 m | Show |
At 6:30 pm, our selection is on the Ohio U. Bobcats + the points over Bowling Green. This is a major revenge spot for the Bobcats, who lost by 19 points earlier this season, as a 4-point road dog at Bowling Green. The good news for Ohio is that Mid-American Conference home teams have cashed 72% since 1997 when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, in which they failed to cover by 15+ points, provided our home team wasn't favored by more than four points. Take Ohio. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-21-19 | Coyotes v. Canucks -135 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -135 | 16 h 14 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Vancouver Canucks over the Arizona Coyotes. The Canucks haven't played since last Saturday when they dropped a close 3-2 decision in San Jose, despite out-shooting the Sharks by a 34-26 margin. The Coyotes, on the other hand, have played two games since Saturday and will be playing their third in four days when they come into Rogers Arena tonight. Once thought to be the doormat of the West, the Coyotes have won four of their last six games, with the two losses coming against the Flames and Blues, two of the best teams in the West right now. But this is still a team with enough injuries to field an entire starting lineup and then some. This is a revenge situation for the Canucks, who lost here to this same decimated Arizona team on January 10 by a score of 4-3 in OT despite out-shooting the Coyotes by a wide margin (36-22). The Coyotes beat the Oilers in Edmonton in their last game, however they are just 2-16 in their last 18 games coming off a road win against a division rival. Take the Canucks. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-21-19 | Cal Poly +15.5 v. Cal-Irvine | Top | 47-74 | Loss | -109 | 16 h 11 m | Show |
At 10 pm, our selection is on the Cal Poly SLO Mustangs + the points over Cal Irvine. The Mustangs have lost their last four games, straight-up and against the spread. However, Big West Conference road teams off 3 straight ATS losses are 78.7% ATS the past 22 years vs. conference foes off back to back covers. Take Cal Poly. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-21-19 | Weber State v. CS Sacramento +2 | Top | 76-78 | Win | 100 | 16 h 11 m | Show |
At 10 pm, our selection is on the Sacramento State Hornets + the points over Weber State. The Wildcats won the first meeting between these two Big Sky Conference rivals, 75-65. But we'll fade Weber St. in this re-match, as they're a big banged-up right now. Weber State's leading scorer, Jerrick Harding (22.3 ppg), turned his ankle in Saturday's win over Montana State, and is questionable to play tonight. Center Zach Britton (questionable, ankle injury) and guard Doc Nelson (out, leg injury) are also battling injuries. The Hornets come into this game off an upset loss to Northern Arizona. But that upset defeat has triggered a very good 95-56 ATS system of mine which plays on certain home teams off upset home losses. Take Sacramento State. |
02-21-19 | Hurricanes -102 v. Panthers | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 13 h 15 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Carolina Hurricanes over Florida. The Hurricanes come into this game off a 3-game home stand in which they went 2-1. Prior to that, the Hurricanes played five straight road games, and they went 4-1 in those five. Overall, Carolina's now won nine of its last 13 road games. Even better: the Panthers are an awful 26-46 off back to back wins by 2+ goals. Take Carolina. |
02-21-19 | Capitals v. Maple Leafs -162 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -162 | 13 h 15 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over Washington. The Maple Leafs dropped their last two games to Arizona and St. Louis. But off those 2 losses, we'll step in and take them, as they're a perfect 8-0 this season off back to back defeats. And they're also 43-25 at home when the total is 6 goals or more. Take the Maple Leafs. |
02-21-19 | Michigan v. Minnesota +5 | Top | 69-60 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 12 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Golden Gophers + the points over Michigan. These two teams met earlier this season, and the Wolverines came away with a narrow 2-point victory. That game, however, was in Ann Arbor. Tonight's game is in Minnesota. And the Gophers have a strong home court, with a 13-2 record at home this season. They're also 43-12 SU and 28-21 ATS at home since February 2016, including 12-6 ATS with revenge. Meanwhile, the Wolves are a horrid 10-24 ATS on the road off a win, if they were matched up against an opponent which they defeated earlier in the season. Take Minnesota. |
02-20-19 | Utah +8.5 v. Washington | Top | 45-62 | Loss | -109 | 16 h 49 m | Show |
At 11 pm, our selection is on the Utah Utes + the points over Washington. These two teams met earlier this season in Utah, and Washington defeated the Utes, 69-53. We'll take Utah in this revenge match, as they fall into a 58-18 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season. Even better: Utah's 6-0 ATS on the Pac-12 road this season, and 21-9-1 ATS since 2016. And it's an awesome 50-27-3 ATS when playing with revenge, including 20-5 ATS when getting 8+ points. Take Utah. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-20-19 | Nevada v. San Diego State +8 | Top | 57-65 | Win | 100 | 16 h 49 m | Show |
At 11 pm, our selection is on the San Diego State Aztecs + the points over Nevada. The Aztecs have been dominant at home. They've won their last seven here, and have covered their last six. And they're 41-9 straight-up in their last 50 home games, including a perfect 12-0 ATS when not laying 6+ points. And they're also 7-0 straight-up and 6-1 ATS at home, or on neutral courts vs. Nevada. Take San Diego State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-20-19 | Bruins v. Golden Knights -118 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -118 | 15 h 2 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over Boston. The Knights were shut out, 3-0, at Colorado, on Monday. But I love them to rebound tonight, as they're 21-6 after not scoring 2+ goals in their previous game, while Boston is a relatively poor 10-17 (minus 12 games on the money line) on the road after scoring 3+ goals in back to back games. Take Vegas. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-20-19 | Jets -109 v. Avalanche | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -109 | 13 h 21 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Winnipeg Jets over the Colorado Avalanche. The Avs notched their first home shutout of the season on Monday, blanking the Golden Knights at Pepsi Center, 3-0. But home has not been kind to the team from Denver this season as the Avs are just 11-17 here so far. Couple that with the fact that one of the best road teams in the West is coming in tonight, and things don't get any easier for the home team. The Jets were starting to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the teams in the Central Division but now they've lost two straight coming into this match-up, including a 4-1 loss to this Colorado team six days ago. But it's a match-up that's been good to the Jets lately as they have still taken four of the last five meetings. With a 36-19-4 record (76 points), the Jets are in a great position to win their first Division Title in over 10 years -- and first since they moved to Winnipeg from Atlanta. That home shutout against Vegas may look good on paper, but it might not bode well for tonight as the Avs are 2-8 in their last 10 immediately following a victory. Meanwhile, Winnipeg is 40-19 when playing with revenge. Take the Jets. |
02-20-19 | Blackhawks v. Red Wings -105 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 21 m | Show |
At 7:35 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Red Wings over Chicago. We played on the Blackhawks in their last game, and were rewarded with an 8-7 win over Ottawa. But we will play against Chicago on the road tonight, as it's won just 2 of 14 road games after allowing more than 3 goals. Take the Red Wings. |
02-20-19 | Tulane +17.5 v. Memphis | Top | 76-102 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 50 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Tulane Green Wave + the points over Memphis. The Tigers have been a very poor double-digit favorite, of late, as they're 3-10 ATS their last 13 in this role. And Memphis has covered just three of its last 12 games this season. One of those ATS losses was against this very Tulane team, when Memphis won by just four points, 83-79, as a double-digit road favorite. Take Tulane + the points. |
02-20-19 | Evansville v. Loyola-Chicago -10.5 | Top | 58-70 | Win | 100 | 12 h 48 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers minus the points over Evansville. The Ramblers come into this game off back to back SU/ATS losses. But those two defeats have set Loyola up into two very good systems of mine, with 61-35 and 72-30 ATS records. And Loyola also plays this game with revenge from a 19-point loss to the Aces earlier this season. The Ramblers have cashed 69% over the past 15 years when playing with revenge, and favored by 8+ points. Take Loyola. |
02-19-19 | Florida State v. Clemson -1.5 | Top | 77-64 | Loss | -110 | 2 h 10 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Clemson Tigers minus the points over Florida State. The Tigers have dropped back to back games to Miami and Louisville -- each by a single point -- while Florida State is off seven straight wins (and four straight covers). The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on the underdog Seminoles, given how hot they are. But consider that, over the past 29 seasons, ACC Conference home teams have cashed 64% in conference games, if they were favored off back to back losses, and they were playing an opponent off 3 SU/ATS wins! Take Florida State. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-19-19 | Ducks v. Wild -210 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -210 | 15 h 5 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Wild over the Anaheim Ducks. The Wild got blanked in their last game by the red-hot St. Blues (who have now won 10 straight). They will go "down in class" tonight, and face a Ducks team mired in a horrible season. The Ducks have suffered recent injuries to all three of their goaltenders -- Josh Gibson, Ryan Miller, and Chad Johnson. Miller has recovered from his knee injury and appears to be the only veteran goalie who is available at this point so he will likely get the start tonight over rookie Kevin Boyle. Anaheim is just 11-19 on the road this season, with 18 of those 19 losses coming in regulation. And it's 2-12 its last 14 away from home. Additionally, this is a revenge situation for the Wild as they were blanked here at Xcel Energy Center by the Ducks back on January 17, 3-0. And that defeat was despite the fact that the Wild out-shot the Ducks by a whopping 37-23 in that game. Finally, the fact that the Wild were blown out by the hottest team in the league on Sunday may not be a bad thing for tonight, given that Minny is 23-7 (+ 15 games on the money line) in its last 30 immediately following a blowout loss by three or more goals. Take the Wild. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-19-19 | Maple Leafs +102 v. Blues | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 1 h 14 m | Show |
At 8:05 pm, our selection is on the Toronto Maple Leafs over St Louis. The Leafs were shut out, 2-0, by Arizona in their last game. But we will jump on Toronto off that defeat, as they are 9-1 on the road vs. Western Conference foes this season. And they are also playing this game with revenge from a 3-goal loss, at home, to St Louis earlier this season. That bodes well for Toronto, as it is 27-11 its last 38 when playing with revenge from a same-season defeat. Finally, St Louis comes into this game off a blowout win over Minnesota, but it is a soft 7-16 at home off a win by 3+ goals. Take the Leafs. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-19-19 | Bradley +4 v. Drake | Top | 68-77 | Loss | -109 | 15 h 2 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Bradley Braves + the points over Drake. The Braves lost earlier this year by 17 points, 69-52, to Drake. We'll take the Braves in this rematch, as Missouri Valley Conference underdogs have gone 127-91, 58% ATS, when playing with revenge from a 17-point (or worse) defeat to a conference foe earlier in the season. Take Bradley. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-19-19 | Vanderbilt +18.5 v. Tennessee | Top | 46-58 | Win | 100 | 14 h 3 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Vanderbilt Commodores + the points over Tennessee, as it falls into 558-419, 411-247 and 191-90 ATS systems of mine. The Volunteers were ranked #1 going into their showdown last Saturday vs. Kentucky. They didn't play like a #1-ranked team, and were blown out by the Wildcats. Tennessee is now ranked #5, and don't be surprised if they stumble once again -- this time vs. their cross-state rival, Vanderbilt. Tennessee already defeated the Commodores, 88-83, as a 9.5-point road favorite. They're favored by much more tonight, here at home. And we'll grab the double-digits, as Vanderbilt is 37-22 ATS in the regular season when playing with same-season revenge against an SEC Conference foe with a winning conference record. Take the Commodores. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-19-19 | Wake Forest +11 v. Notre Dame | Top | 75-68 | Win | 100 | 14 h 1 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons + the points over Notre Dame. The Demon Deacons were blown out, 95-57, by North Carolina on Saturday. But we'll look for them to bounce back in South Bend tonight against a Notre Dame team with a 10-15 ATS record. For technical support, we note that ACC Conference underdogs, off losses by 25 (or more) points, are 42-14 ATS vs. foes with a losing point spread record. Moreover, Notre Dame is a poor 12-28 ATS as a double-digit home favorite vs. foes off a SU/ATS loss. Take Wake Forest. |
02-19-19 | Ohio +19.5 v. Buffalo | Top | 67-114 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 1 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Ohio U. Bobcats + the points over Buffalo. The Bobcats lost, 87-80, as a 5.5-point road underdog against Central Michigan, on Saturday. But off that defeat, we'll grab the points with Ohio, as it's a super 67-40-1 ATS off a conference road defeat, including 31-12-1 ATS when playing with revenge. Take Ohio. |
02-18-19 | Senators v. Blackhawks -155 | Top | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 18 h 12 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Chicago Blackhawks over the Ottawa Senators. The Blackhawks are one of the most improved teams in the league when you look at what they did the first two months and what they've done since. Through December 11, the Hawks went 9-18-5 and looked like they might be headed for a last-place Conference finish. But since that time, Chicago has gone 15-8-4 and is now within striking distance of a Wild Card spot in the West with plenty of hockey left to play. The Hawks have lost two of their last three, but those came against the Blue Jackets and Bruins -- two of the better teams from the East. Nobody would accuse the Senators of being one of those, as they have stumbled their way to the worst record in the NHL. Unlike the Hawks, the Sens have been consistently bad pretty much the entire way. And with plenty of injuries on their already challenged roster, it doesn't look like that will change. Ottawa has been giving up goals in bunches and is 22-45 (-17 games on the money line) in its last 67 after allowing three or more goals in three straight games. Take Chicago. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-18-19 | Virginia v. Virginia Tech +6.5 | Top | 64-58 | Win | 100 | 17 h 37 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Virginia Tech Hokies + the points over Virginia. The Hokies are 20-5 this season, including 12-1 at home. And since 2016, they've gone 50-9 straight-up and 29-16 ATS here in Blacksburg. I won't fade a big underdog with a strong home court such as this. Indeed, since 1990, College Basketball teams have cashed 63% at home (including 6-1-1 ATS this season) if they were getting 5+ points, and had won at least 11 home games in the season, with just 2 or less home defeats. Additionally, the Cavaliers won the season's first meeting between the teams, 81-59, in Charlottesville. But Virginia is an awful 17-47 ATS away from home if its opponent was playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season. Take Virginia Tech. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-17-19 | Arizona +4.5 v. Colorado | Top | 60-67 | Loss | -108 | 16 h 32 m | Show |
At 8 pm, our selection is on the Arizona Wildcats + the points over Colorado. The Buffaloes enter tonight's game on a 4-game SU/ATS win streak. Unfortunately for the Buffs, they're an awful 16-37-1 ATS off back to back wins, including 4-18 ATS if they also covered the spread in those two wins. Take Arizona. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-17-19 | Sabres -105 v. Devils | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 31 m | Show |
At 6:05 pm, our selection is on the Buffalo Sabres over New Jersey. The Sabres are currently on the outside, looking in at the Playoff standings, and need to get on a roll, if they are to make the post-season. After Friday's 6-2 home loss to the Rangers, their coach, Phil Housley, called his team "soft." That will surely serve to motivate his troops this evening. And, for additional support, consider that Buffalo is 6-0 this season after losing by more than 3 goals. |
02-17-19 | Blues v. Wild -120 | Top | 4-0 | Loss | -120 | 11 h 30 m | Show |
At 3:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota Wild over the St. Louis Blues. The hottest team in the NHL? Very quietly it's the St. Louis Blues, who have now won nine in a row, including two straight shutouts after their 3-0 blanking of the Avs on Saturday. Even more impressive is the fact that the Blues have won seven of those nine straight on the road (including Saturday's win in Denver). But stretching their win streak to 10 in a row will prove difficult, as St. Louis now faces a team which has given it fits in recent seasons. The Wild have won each of the last five regular season meetings with the Blues going back to December of 2017, and they've out-scored them, 24-9, in those five victories. Minnesota is also 11-5 in its last 16 home games vs. teams with a winning road record, and 30-15 off back to back losses. Finally, there's been a pretty big difference in the Blues' scoring ability at home (3.28 goals per game) and on the road (2.67 goals per game) this season. Take Minnesota. |
02-17-19 | Rangers v. Penguins -201 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 60 m | Show |
At 12:35 pm, our selection is on the Pittsburgh Penguins over the NY Rangers. The Pens lost a tough, 5-4, decision yesterday to Calgary. But I love the Pens to rebound at home this afternoon, as they're 63-35 (+12 games on the money line) after allowing more than 4 goals. Take the Penguins. |
02-16-19 | Predators v. Golden Knights -119 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 17 h 53 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over the Nashville Predators. After a 6-3 drubbing at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Knights have now lost three straight -- all at home. If they fall to the Predators tonight it would be their second four-game losing streak in their last 10 games. But two of the games in that last streak were on the road. And, in fact, Vegas has never had a four-game home losing streak since they came into the league at the beginning of last season. Another reason to like the home team tonight is because this is a revenge situation. The Preds just beat the Knights right here in Las Vegas less than a month ago, 2-1, on January 23. And Vegas is 16-3 (+14 games on the money line) when playing with revenge from a home defeat. Finally, the Knights are also 23-6 in their last 29 home games vs. teams with a winning road record (the Preds are 15-14 away from Nashville this season). Take Vegas. |
02-16-19 | Canucks v. Sharks -235 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 53 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the San Jose Sharks over Vancouver. The Canucks edged Los Angeles, 4-3, in overtime on Thursday night. But the Canucks have won just once in 13 games off an overtime win. Meanwhile, San Jose was blasted 5-1 here, at home, by the Washington Capitals on Thursday. However, they're 38-14 off a home loss by more than two goals. Take San Jose. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-16-19 | Blue Jackets -122 v. Blackhawks | Top | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 15 h 24 m | Show |
At 8:35 pm, our selection is on the Columbus Blue Jackets over Chicago. The Blue Jackets lost at home, 4-1, to these Blackhawks in the first meeting between the teams this season. The good news for Columbus is that it's 8-2 when playing with revenge from a home loss. It's also 36-20 off a loss by 2+ goals in its previous game. With the Jackets in off a 3-0 shutout loss to the Islanders, we'll back the road team in this game, tonight. Take Columbus. |
02-16-19 | Dartmouth v. Princeton -6 | Top | 68-69 | Loss | -108 | 3 h 21 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Princeton Tigers minus the points over Dartmouth. The Tigers were upset last night, 78-69, by Harvard. And that was the 3rd straight loss by Princeton. However, this losing streak has set up the Tigers in a very good 78-29 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams on losing streaks. Even better: single-digit Ivy League home favorites have cashed 57.4% since 1990 in Saturday games off an upset home loss the night before. Lay the points with Princeton. Ivy League Game of the Week. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-16-19 | LSU v. Georgia +8.5 | Top | 83-79 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
At 6 pm, our selection is on the Georgia Bulldogs + the points over LSU. Georgia has lost its last five games -- both straight-up, and against the spread. But we'll take the home dog this evening, as SEC Conference teams are a super 60% ATS since 1992 at home in Conference games off 3+ losses when playing with revenge. With the Bulldogs, indeed, playing with revenge from a 92-82 loss at LSU last month, we'll take the points with Georgia. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-16-19 | Bowling Green v. Northern Illinois +1 | Top | 87-67 | Loss | -110 | 1 h 13 m | Show |
Our selection is on the Northern Illinois Huskies over Bowling Green. The Huskies enter this game off four straight losses, while the Falcons come in off a home win over the CMU Chippewas. The good news for the Huskies is that they are 24-13 ATS at home off a loss, including 11-3 ATS when not favored by 1.5 or more points. And Mid-American Conference home favorites (or PK) have cashed 63% since 1990 off 3 SU/ATS losses, if matched up against a Conference opponent off a win. Finally, the Huskies fall into 33-9 and 40-14 ATS systems of mine which play on certain teams off 4+ losses. Take Northern Illinois. MAC Game of the Week. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-16-19 | Virginia Tech v. Pittsburgh +6 | Top | 70-64 | Push | 0 | 11 h 23 m | Show |
At 4:30 pm, our selection is on the Pittsburgh Panthers + the points over Virginia Tech. It's true that the Panthers are on an 8-game SU/ATS losing streak. But when one looks closely at the eight ATS defeats, they have not been by very many points. Indeed, Pitt's average ATS defeat over this stretch has been by a mere 3.87 points per game. So, one can chalk it up largely to randomness, as opposed to poor play. I love the Panthers here, at home, this afternoon, as they fall into a 69-28 ATS system of mine which plays on certain team on losing streaks. Pitt is also 12-4 ATS as revenge-minded conference home dogs of +5 or more points, if Pitt was off back to back losses. And Pitt's 4-1 straight-up its last five home games vs. the Hokies. Take Pitt. |
02-16-19 | West Virginia +14 v. Kansas | Top | 53-78 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 53 m | Show |
At 4 pm, our selection is on the West Virginia Mountaineers + the points over Kansas. The Jayhawks upset TCU, 82-77, in overtime, on the road this past Monday. Unfortunately for Kansas, it's a horrid 2-17 ATS in its last 19 Big 12 Conference games off a road win. Take West Virginia. |
02-16-19 | Valparaiso +5 v. Drake | Top | 79-84 | Push | 0 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on the Valparaiso Crusaders + the points over Drake. The Crusaders were upset, 87-82, at home on Wednesday, while Drake went into Carbondale, and upset Southern Illinois, 72-69. Since 1990, Missouri Valley teams off an upset home loss have covered 88% vs. foes off an upset road win, if our 'play-on' team (here, Valparaiso) was playing with revenge from a loss sustained earlier in the season. With the Crusaders, indeed, playing with revenge from an 11-point loss three weeks ago to Drake, we'll grab the points with Valpo this afternoon. |
02-16-19 | Tennessee-Martin v. SIU-Edwardsville +1 | Top | 73-69 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 54 m | Show |
At 3 pm, our selection is on SIU-Edwardsville over Tennessee-Martin. On the surface, these two teams are headed in opposite directions, as Edwardsville is off 3 SU/ATS losses, while Tennessee-Martin is off 3 SU/ATS wins. Interestingly, the Skyhawks find themselves in a Pk-em situation on the road, even though they are 0-12 straight-up, and 2-10 ATS on the road this season! That doesn't bode well for Tennessee-Martin today. And neither does the fact that Edwardsville is 5-0 ATS its last five off 3 SU/ATS losses, and also 5-0 ATS its last five vs. opponents off 3 SU/ATS wins. Take the Cougars. |
02-16-19 | Middle Tennessee v. Marshall -7.5 | Top | 93-98 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
At 2 pm, our selection is on the Marshall Thundering Herd minus the points over Middle Tennessee St. Earlier this season, Middle Tennessee was winless against the spread until its 13th game of the season, at Rhode Island. Since then, the Blue Raiders are 9-5 ATS, including 5-0 ATS its last five. The Thundering Herd, now, are the team on the point spread losing streak, as it has lost its last nine games against the spread. We'll lay the points with Marshall, as teams off a loss have covered 66.1% since 1990 (and a perfect 8-0 ATS the past 2 years) if they were on a 9-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, and their opponent was off a point spread win. Take Marshall. Conference USA Game of the Month. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-15-19 | Northern Kentucky v. Wright State -1 | Top | 77-81 | Win | 100 | 17 h 3 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Wright St. Raiders over Northern Kentucky. The Raiders have won and covered three straight games. And they play with revenge from a 4-point loss at Northern Kentucky earlier this season. Since 1991, .572 (or better) home favorites (or PK) have covered 64.8% off 3 SU/ATS wins, when matched up against .721 (or better) opponents off a win. Take the Raiders tonight. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-15-19 | Monmouth v. Rider -8 | Top | 72-81 | Win | 100 | 15 h 3 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Rider Broncs minus the points over Monmouth. The Broncs come into this game off 5 straight upset losses. And their last defeat was the most excruciating, as they were up by nine with just 47 seconds left, but blew the lead, and lost in overtime, 98-88. Tonight, they'll face the team which started them on this losing skein. On February 2, Monmouth upset the Broncs, 75-71, as a 4.5-point underdog. We'll lay the points, as home favorites of -6+ points, off four SU/ATS losses, have cashed 65.6% over the past 28 seasons when playing with revenge. Take Rider. |
02-15-19 | Buffalo v. Toledo +3 | Top | 88-82 | Loss | -115 | 15 h 2 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Toledo Rockets + the points over Buffalo. The Rockets play with revenge from a 30-point loss last month at Buffalo. Toledo has a sparkling 20-4 record, including 11-1 at home, and 8-3 inside the Mid-American Conference). And it's also won its last 5 games, straight-up, and its last four against the spread. We'll grab the points, as .666 (or better) teams, off back-to-back SU/ATS wins and playing with revenge from a 25-point (or worse) defeat, have cashed 67.8% at home over the past 28 seasons. Take Toledo. |
02-15-19 | Cal Poly +14 v. Hawaii | Top | 54-75 | Loss | -107 | 19 h 59 m | Show |
At Midnight, our selection is on the Cal Poly SLO Mustangs + the points over Hawaii. The Mustangs fall into a variation of my favorite College Basketball system, which is 411-246 ATS since 1990. Additionally, they lost their previous game, 76-68 at home to Long Beach State. But Big West Conference underdogs of 9+ points have covered 65.5% in Conference games off a SU/ATS home loss. Take Cal Poly SLO. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-14-19 | Gonzaga v. Loyola Marymount +20.5 | Top | 73-60 | Win | 100 | 18 h 60 m | Show |
At 11 pm, our selection is on Loyola Marymount + the points over Gonzaga. The Lions have won 12 of their last 14 home games, and are 9-5-1 ATS their last 15 as home underdogs. They played Gonzaga earlier this season in Spokane, and hung tough in an 18-point loss (as a 23-point road underdog). We'll grab the big number of points tonight, as the Lions fall into a 48-17 ATS system of mine which goes against certain teams off blowout wins (Gonzaga routed St. Mary's, 94-46, last Saturday). Take the Lions + the points. |
02-14-19 | Maple Leafs v. Golden Knights -115 | Top | 6-3 | Loss | -115 | 17 h 3 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Knights were big favorites on Tuesday at home, but were stunned by the Arizona Coyotes, 5-2. This despite the fact that they out-shot their visiting rivals by a whopping 43-26. It was the Knights' fourth-straight home loss -- all as a prohibitive favorite -- and their task here at T-Mobile Arena doesn't get any easier with the Maple Leafs coming to town. This will be Toronto's first visit to Las Vegas since New Years Eve 2017, a game which the home team won easily, 6-3. In fact the home team is undefeated in this series, although it's a pretty small sample size (three games). The Knights tend to come back with guns blazing after an embarrassing defeat like the one they just experienced. In their last 16 games after allowing five goals or more, the Knights are 11-5 (and they are 43-18 in their last 61 after scoring two or less). Despite his recent struggles, Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury still leads the league with 29 victories and six shutouts. Take the Golden Knights. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-14-19 | Arizona +4 v. Utah | Top | 76-83 | Loss | -109 | 16 h 56 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Arizona Wildcats + the points over Utah. The Wildcats come into this game off 5 straight losses, including back to back games in the past week as a home favorite vs. Washington and Washington State, and are now 5-6 in Pac-12 Conference play. Meanwhile, Utah comes into this game off back to back road upset wins at USC and UCLA, and is 7-4 inside the conference. The knee-jerk reaction might be to play on the Utes as a small home favorite, especially since they've also won and covered six of their last eight, own the better conference record, and have revenge from a 3-point loss at Arizona earlier this season. But this is a classic example of a sucker bet. To wit: over the last 22 seasons, .750 (or worse) teams, off back to back upset home defeats, have cashed 83% vs. foes off back to back upset wins on the road. Even better: the Wildcats have won 19 of the last 21 meetings straight-up, including 3-1 SU/ATS as an underdog, and 9-1 SU/ATS when not favored by 8+ points. Finally, the Wildcats are 39-25 ATS when they didn't own a winning Pac-12 Conference record. Take Arizona + the points. College Hoops Sucker Bet of the Month. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-14-19 | Hornets v. Magic -3 | Top | 89-127 | Win | 100 | 14 h 2 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Orlando Magic minus the points over Charlotte. The Magic have won and covered four straight, including a 20-point blowout of the league's #1 team, Milwaukee. I won't step in front of them here, at home, tonight, as they play with revenge from a 25-point loss to Charlotte on New Year's Eve. And that defeat has triggered a very good 84-46 ATS revenge system of mine. Even worse for the Hornets: they've covered just 34 of their last 100 games when installed as an underdog. Take Orlando minus the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-14-19 | Delaware +2.5 v. Towson | Top | 78-71 | Win | 100 | 14 h 1 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Delaware Blue Hens + the points over Towson. The Blue Hens are on an 0-5-1 ATS losing streak. However, we'll grab the points with them tonight, as they're an awesome 26-9-2 ATS on a 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streak, including a perfect 10-0-1 ATS vs. an opponent off an ATS win. With Towson off a 66-59 win over James Madison, as a 3-point favorite, we'll fade the Tigers, and take the points with the Blue Hens. |
02-14-19 | Drexel v. James Madison -1.5 | Top | 69-71 | Win | 100 | 14 h 1 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the James Madison Dukes minus the points over Drexel. The Dragons are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games. But this ATS win streak has triggered a negative 112-208 ATS system of mine. Even better: the Dukes lost by five points at Drexel back in January. However, Colonial Athletic Association teams are a solid 227-177 ATS when playing with revenge from a loss earlier in the season, if they weren't off a SU/ATS win, and their opponent was off an ATS cover. Take James Madison. |
02-14-19 | Houston v. Connecticut +8.5 | Top | 71-63 | Win | 100 | 14 h 0 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Connecticut Huskies + the points over Houston. The Cougars come into tonight's game off a huge win over Cincinnati last weekend. Houston and Cincy were both 9-1 inside the AAC Conference, so Houston's 7-point win catapulted it into sole possession of 1st place. One of the things I love to do is play against teams off wins in meetings between two top conference teams (with win percentages of .866 or better). Such teams suffer letdowns over 60% of the time in their next game (and 67% if they're laying more than 6 points). Indeed, we saw this just two days ago when Duke struggled to defeat Louisville after defeating Virginia in its previous game. Take the points with Connecticut. |
02-13-19 | Nets -6.5 v. Cavs | Top | 148-139 | Win | 100 | 14 h 11 m | Show |
At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Brooklyn Nets minus the points over Cleveland. The Cavaliers are just 12-45 this season, but did win their most recent game, 107-104, vs. New York. Off that win, we'll fade Cleveland, as NBA home dogs off a straight-up win, that have won less than 22 percent of their games, have cashed just 36% since 1990 vs. .500 (or better) non-division foes. Additionally, the Cavaliers are 12-24 ATS at home off a win, while Brooklyn is 44-25 ATS its last 69 road games. Take the Nets. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-13-19 | South Florida v. UCF -6.5 | Top | 65-78 | Win | 100 | 14 h 7 m | Show |
At 7 pm, our selection is on the Central Florida Knights minus the points over South Florida. The Knights have won 10 of their last 11 at home this season, with their only loss coming against #9-ranked Houston. Tonight, they'll face the South Florida Bulls, and they've defeated South Florida six straight times, and eight of the last nine (6-3 ATS). Over the last four seasons, the Knights are an awesome 45-6 straight-up and 33-17-1 ATS as a favorite, including 12-1-1 ATS when priced from -5 to -8 points. Even better: the Bulls are a horrid 43-75-1 ATS when priced as an underdog of +4.5 to +8 points, including 18-44-1 ATS vs. an opponent off a straight-up win. Take the Knights. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
02-12-19 | Coyotes v. Golden Knights -224 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -224 | 18 h 35 m | Show |
At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Vegas Golden Knights over the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes won for the first time in six games (their first win of the month) on Saturday, 3-2. Their reward for beating a Dallas Stars team at home on that occasion is to go into one of the toughest arenas in the league to face the defending Stanley Cup Finalists from the West. The Knights played a lackluster game here on the Strip on Saturday, falling to the Blue Jackets 4-3 in just their seventh home defeat in regulation this season. No doubt the team was tired after returning from a grueling four-game eastern road trip, so the two days of home rest that they have enjoyed will likely come in handy tonight. The Knights have lost to the Coyotes only once in their franchise history -- a 3-2 defeat last March -- but avenged that defeat with 2 wins this season, including a 5-1 blowout in the last meeting. Vegas is 7-1 in its last eight games playing on two days of rest, while Arizona is 12-42 when it lost its previous meeting to its opponent by more than 2 goals. Take the Golden Knights. As always, good luck...Al McMordie. |
02-12-19 | Alabama v. Mississippi State -5.5 | Top | 62-81 | Win | 100 | 19 h 45 m | Show |
At 9 pm, our selection is on the Mississippi State Bulldogs minus the points over Alabama. Miss State comes into this game off back to back home losses to LSU and Kentucky. I look for the 3rd game to be the charm, as Miss State falls into a 41-9 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams off back to back losses. Even better: the Bulldogs are 94-62 ATS at home off a loss, and they're 49-24 ATS at home when playing with revenge, including 36-12 ATS if they weren't off a SU/ATS win. Lay the points. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. |
