ASA NHL PLAY ON OVER: Colorado Avalanche at Calgary Flames, Friday at 10:05 PM ET
3 of the 4 games in this series have resulted in an under but the teams have averaged a combined 83.3 shots on goal the past 3 games. That is an unusually high number of shots on goal and shows that both the pace of the game and the scoring opportunities have been conducive to an over. Game 3 was included in this run and that game totaled 8 goals but the other 2 games in this 3-game stretch totaled 5 goals apiece. Per our computer math model, this one is getting closer to the 8-goal total than the 5-goal mark. The most recent game with Calgary hosting Colorado saw the Flames get held to just 2 goals but, previous to that, Calgary had averaged 5 goals per game in their 4 prior home games against the Avalanche. The Flames are facing elimination and at home and will turn to a very aggressive attack in an attempt to stave off elimination here. The teams have combined to average 2 power play goals per game in this series and have combined to average nearly 10 power play opportunities per game so far in this series. All the above numbers are good numbers when looking for a high-scoring games in NHL playoff action and this situation and the value (total at an even 6 goals) fit the bill for a solid play Friday night. Bet OVER in Calgary in NHL action Friday.

ASA NHL PLAY ON Over: Islanders at Penguins, Sunday at 12:05 PM ET
Down 2-0 in this series the Pittsburgh Penguins need to turn the tables on the New York Islanders and get back into this series. That starts by changing the pace of the game. The Penguins know they can ill afford to let the Islanders dictate the pace and now, back on home ice, Pittsburgh will look to push the tempo. Look for Pittsburgh to work hard to get the Islanders out of their comfort zone. Tight low-scoring games are what suits the Islanders. The Penguins are running out of time and, after losing Game 1 in overtime, they then lost a tight low-scoring Game 2. Time for the Pens to get the Isles out of their comfort zone and now that the series has shifted to Pittsburgh that is precisely what we expect here. Our computer math model is calling for 7 goals here and we certainly expect at least 6 which means that the over 5.5 at plus money is offering great value given the situation here. ASA NHL PLAY ON OVER: Ottawa Senators at Buffalo Sabres, Thursday at 7:05 PM ET
Some extra juice to lay with this over at 6 goals but it should prove well worth it. The Senators are starting 22-year old rookie goalie Joey Daccord who makes the jump from goaltending at Arizona State to now facing the world's best players in the NHL. Daccord and the Sens will be facing a very hungry Sabres team too because this is Buffalo's home finale and they have endured a lengthy losing streak including a 3-2 loss in their most recent home game. As a result, and with facing a rookie goalie tonight, the Sabres are expected to be very aggressive in this game. That should lead to plenty of goals because, while Buffalo should score well here, they have been struggling to keep the puck out of their own net. The Sabres have allowed 4.3 goals per game in their last 11 games. Before scoring just 2 goals against the Predators, Buffalo had notched 4 goals in 2 of its last 4 home games. The Senators, under interim coach Marc Crawford, have been a different team. Ottawa has scored 4 or more goals in 6 of its last 9 games! Overall the Sens have averaged a respectable 3.4 goals per game their last 9 games. The Senators have scored 4 or more goals in 3 of their last 4 meetings with the Sabres. Buffalo potted 9 goals the last time they hosted Ottawa. The over is 13-6 this season when the Sens are off a win by a multiple-goal margin. The over is 7-3 the past 10 April games for Buffalo. Late season game with no post-season implications means plenty of open ice and great scoring chances. Bet this OVER in early evening action Thursday

ASA NHL PLAY ON OVER: Anaheim Ducks @ Edmonton Oilers, Saturday at 10:05 PM ET - The Ducks are off an embarrassing 6-1 loss last night at Calgary.. Prior to managing just 1 goal in the defeat, Anaheim had scored 3 or more goals in 9 of their 12 prior games. The Ducks are 4-0 to the over in their last 4 games. The Oilers are off a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Dallas on Thursday. Prior to that defeat, Edmonton was 4-1 to the over in their 5 previous games. The Oilers had allowed 4 or more goals in 5 of their 7 prior games. Edmonton had scored 3 or more goals in 7 of their last 8 games. You can see why we're expecting each hockey club to get to at least 3 goals in this one and that sets this up for no less than a 4-3 final and the total is set at just 5.5 goals in this one. Helping the cause is the fact that both teams are out of the post-season picture and that means less defensive intensity as they look to wrap up the season simply playing for pride. That is the reason you're seeing each of these clubs trend toward the over in recent games and per our math model, that over trending continues here. ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Vegas at St Louis, Monday at 8:05 PM ET
Marc-Andre Fleury might be back with the Golden Knights for tonight's game. However, couple of key factors even if the Vegas goaltender does return tonight. He has been out with a lower-body injury plus his wife just gave birth to their third child on Friday. Not only are there injury and distraction issues for Fleury, he has lost his last two starts against St Louis as the Blues have gotten to him for 9 goals in those two games! Additionally the veteran netminder could be a little rusty if he gets the call as tonight would be his first start since March 15th. If Malcolm Subban gets the start, he is 2-7 with a 3.47 GAA in his road starts this season. You can see why the Blues should score well here. St Louis has won 4 of its last 5 games and scored an average of 4.8 goals per game with the over going 4-0-1 in those contests. The Golden Knights are off a disappointing home loss to the lowly Red Wings. Vegas managed just two goals in that game. The 4 most recent times that Vegas was off a game in which they've been held to two goals, their next game has gone over all 4 times! 1 of those games totaled 8 goals and the other 3 each totaled 9 goals! With this total at a 5.5 we've got great line value here considering the situation. We expect plenty of goals tonight based on our computer math model. Bet OVER

Also, the Blue Jackets are 13-8-1 to the over when they are off a loss by a multiple goal margin. The Oilers enter this game off a 7-2 loss at St Louis. Edmonton has now allowed 6 or more goals in 3 of its last 4 games! The Oilers are 22-13 to the over this season in games against teams with a winning record. The Blue Jackets are seeking revenge for a 4-0 home loss to Edmonton earlier this season. Getting shutout in that match-up was certainly unusual for Columbus as the two meetings last season each totaled at least 9 goals! We expect a similar result tonight based on our computer math model. ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Minnesota at Tampa Bay,Thursday at 7:35 PM ET
The Lightning are the best team in the NHL and their 12-1 run their last 13 games shows just how dangerous they can be in the offensive zone. Tampa Bay has scored an average of 4.3 goals per game during their 12-1 hot streak. . The Bolts are hosting the Wild early Thursday evening and Minnesota is enjoying a recent resurgence. The Wild are on a 7-game points streak (5-0-2) as they have not lost a game in regulation in any of their last 7 games. Of course that streak is expected to come to an end here at Tampa Bay but certainly not without a fight. Minnesota has scored an average of 3.6 goals per game in their last 5 road games. Going further back, the Wild have scored 3 or more goals in 9 of their last 11 road games. Of course if each team gets to 3 goals here we have ourselves a winner as this total is set at 6 goals and would have to then land on at least 7. Minnesota has been struggling on the penalty kill and has allowed 11 power play goals in their last 11 games. The over is 12-7 this season when the Wild are off a division game. The over is 16-8 this season when the Lightning are off a non-conference game. The last two games between these teams have resulted in an average of 8 goals scored and our computer math model is forecasting the final score in this one to land on 7 or 8 goals. ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Detroit at Colorado,Tuesday at 9:05 PM ET
The Red Wings have lost 7 straight games as they've given up 4.7 goals per game during this rough stretch. The Avalanche are off a low-scoring loss but previously scored an average of 4.3 goals per game their 6 prior games. Colorado should certainly score well tonight as you can see. The Avalanche have allowed 6 power play goals in their last 7 games. The Avs have also scored 7 power play goals in these 7 games. Certainly looks like a great match-up for special teams to contribute some goals in this one as well. The Avalanche have averaged 40 shots on goal in their last 5 home games. The Red Wings have allowed 37.5 shots on goal per game their last 4 games. You can see why we're expecting plenty of end to end action in this one with plenty of scoring opportunities. Detroit is 12-6 to the over when playing with home loss revenge this season and the over is also 12-6 when the Red Wings enter a game on a losing streak of 3 or more games. The over is 8-3 this season when the Avalanche are off a game in which they were held to 1 goal or less. Great situational edges in this one. Bet the OVER in Colorado Tuesday evening

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Edmonton at Ottawa,Thursday at 7:35 PM ET
The Oilers are in a tough back to back spot here and both goalies (Koskinen and Stolarz) were involved in last night's ugly loss at Toronto. Not only does that mean each goalie would be in a back to back (and one of them will have to play here), it also means that Edmonton has a weakness between the pipes. Koskinen has been struggling and Stolarz was just recently acquired from the Flyers. He had a few bright spots for Philadelphia but his overall numbers tell the full story. That being said, the Senators should score their fair share of goals in this one. The issue for Ottawa, however, is that they are one of the worst teams in the league in terms of shots allowed per game. Connor McDavid and the Oilers have enough potency on offense that they should bounce back here against a Senators team that is one of the worst hockey clubs in the league. The over is 11-6 this season in Edmonton's road games with a total set at 6 or more goals. The over is 23-15 in Ottawa's home games with a total set at 6 or more goals. Also, the over is 14-9-2 in Senators non-conference games this season. Bet the OVER in Ottawa early Thursday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Tampa Bay at NY Rangers, Wednesday at 7:35 PM ET
The Lightning have won 9 straight games and have averaged scoring 4.6 goals per game during this red hot run. The Rangers, playing without any playoff pressure as they were sellers and not buyers at the trade deadline, are actually a dangerous dog in a spot like this. New York is playing loose and relaxed. That is part of the reason the Rangers have scored 5 or more goals in 4 of their last 6 games. You're not going to see many defensive, low-scoring grinders involving the Rangers the rest of the way this season. The Bolts are so talented and, by far, the best team in the league this season and should have no trouble dismantling the rather weak defense corps of the Rangers. However, don't be surprised if the Rangers continue their recent scoring resurgence and that should turn this game into a very entertaining high-scoring battle. The over is 5-2 in New York's last 7 games. The over is 17-9 this season when the Rangers are off a game in which they allowed 4 or more goals. The Lightning are 15-8 to the over this season when off a non-conference game. Bet the OVER in NY Rangers early Wednesday evening.

ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Montreal at Detroit, Tuesday at 7:35 PM ET
The Canadiens are expected to have Jonathan Drouin back in the lineup tonight. Either way, this is a great spot to expect plenty from Montreal in the offensive zone. The Canadiens are off a tough 2-1 loss at Florida last night as they did manage 35 shots on goal. In fact Montreal has now totaled 110 shots on goal in their last 3 games. That is an average of 37 shots per game and, prior to the low-scoring loss to the Panthers, the Canadiens had scored 3 or more goals in 4 straight games. We are expecting each team to get at least 3 goals tonight and, of course, that would guarantee at least a 4-3 final at worst. Though we expect the Canadiens to score well in this one there are issues likely for them between the pipes. That is because their #1 goalie, Carey Price, was between in the crease last night. That means either Price has to go in the 2nd night of a back to back (which is not easy and rarely occurs) or Antti Niemi will be getting the call. The over is a fantastic 11-4-1 in Niemi's 16 starts this season! He has particularly struggled on the road where he has an .878 save percentage. He is likely to be opposed by the Red Wings Jimmy Howard tonight but he has been dealing with an illness. When Howard has played recently he has struggled. He has a poor .860 save percentage in his last 4 games (3 starts). If Jonathan Bernier gets the call in between the pipes the Detroit netminder has a rough .868 save percentage in his 5 divisional games (4 starts) this season. The over is 3-1 in those 4 starts. The Red Wings have scored at least 3 goals in 5 of their past 7 games. There have been no unders (3-0 and one push) the last 4 times the Canadiens have played the 2nd game of a back to back. The Red Wings have a number of trends supporting this play as well. Detroit's over is 11-6-1 when revenging a home loss, 12-6-1 when off a defeat by a multiple goal margin in their prior game, and 11-5-1 this season when entering a game on a losing streak of 3 or more games. Bet the OVER in Detroit early Tuesday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON UNDER: Chicago at Detroit, Wednesday at 7:35 PM ET
Believe it or not there is playoff pressure here. Yes the suddenly hot Blackhawks are very much alive in the race for a post-season spot. Chicago is off an absolutely crazy 8-7 win over Ottawa Monday. However, prior to that game the Blackhawks had held 7 of their last 9 opponents to 3 or less goals. They have been better defensively and in between the pipes than what their over trend would lead you to believe. They are visiting Detroit Wednesday and the Red Wings have allowed 3 or less goals in 7 of their last 8 games. This total has climbed as high as a 7 in some spots but an even greater value is with the under 6.5 at a +125 payback. We envision a hard-fought 3-2 type game here. 13 of the Red Wings last 18 games have resulted in an under! Jimmy Howard is expected to be between the pipes. Prior to struggling in his most recent start he had enjoyed a solid stretch with 8 of his 11 previous starts resulting in an under. Another one in the forecast here and we take advantage of a value spot here as too much emphasis is on the way Blackhawks have played out and not nearly enough emphasis on the Red Wings recent level of play and the fact that they will look to play this game their style on home ice. Bet the UNDER in Detroit Wednesday evening.

ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Vegas at Colorado, Monday at 9:05 PM ET
The over is 5-0 in the Golden Knights last 5 games. Vegas had been on a losing skid and so they made some line changes to spark the team and it worked out very well as they won 5-1 over visiting Nashville Saturday. Now the Golden Knights take to the road and they carry extra confidence from generating 50 shots on goal and scoring 5 goals against the Predators. The issue tonight for Vegas will be between the pipes. Though Malcolm Subban had a great start for the Golden Knights Saturday, Marc-Andre Fleury is likely to be back between the pipes tonight. Fleury's last 3 starts were all losses and Vegas allowed an average of 5 goals per game in those 3 defeats. Ever since the calendar turned the page to 2019, Fleury has not been the same netminder he was in the first 3 months of this season. Should Vegas surprise and go with Subban again, we would gladly challenge him to come up big again in consecutive starts. Subban has not been used in back to back starts this entire season. The Avalanche are known for their dangerous top line of Rantanen, MacKinnon, and Landeskog. With Vegas playing a more aggressive style again, this is likely to lead to some end to end action in this game with swift moving of the puck creating solid scoring chances and some breakdowns on defense. The Avalanche know all about defensive breakdowns as they have lost 6 straight home games and allowed an average of 4.7 goals per game in those 6 defeats! The Avs are off a rare home shutout but, even with recent struggles, Colorado entered that game having averaged 3 goals per game in their prior 12 games. With consideration to all of the above factors, we see no reason that each team won't get to at least 3 goals here and, of course, the game can't end 3-3! Great value with this over at 6 even for Monday night. Prior to the home shutout versus the Blues Saturday, the over was 6-2 in Colorado's previous 8 home games. The over is 4-1 in the Golden Knights last 5 games against teams with a losing record. The over is 8-2 this season when the Avalanche scored a goal or less in their prior game. This is a revenge game for the Avs and that is a situation that has seen the over go 77-54 long-term including 19-11 this season. Bet the OVER in Colorado Monday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON UNDER: Columbus at Chicago, Saturday at 8:35 PM ET
The Blackhawks have been trending over but that is hiding the fact that Chicago has actually allowed an average of only 2.25 goals per game in its last 4 home games. .This game is likely to be more of a defensive-minded battle than many are anticipating. That's because the Blue Jackets are coming off a loss and will be hungry for a win here. Columbus is well aware of Chicago's recent goal-scoring prowess and, as a result, the Jackets will be looking to slow the pace in this one tonight. Very quietly the Blue Jackets have also been very solid in their own zone. Columbus had allowed an average of only 2 goals per game during their 4-game winning streak that preceded the 3-0 loss versus the Islanders Thursday. 4 of the last 5 games between these teams have resulted in an under and that includes a 4-1 home loss for the Blue Jackets earlier this season. Columbus is playing with revenge in this one and that is a situation this season that has resulted in only 6 overs in 22 occurrences! Bet the UNDER in Chicago Saturday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: New Jersey at Minnesota, Friday at 8:35 PM ET
The Devils strongest goalie this season has been MacKenzie Blackwood. However, he recently got sent to the AHL because Cory Schneider (the Devils regular #1) was done with his conditioning assignment and ready to return. That means the usual #2 guy, Keith Kinkaid, gets the start tonight because it was Scheider between the pipes last night at Chicago. New Jersey jumped out to a 2-0 lead against the Blackhawks but then went on to lose 5 to 2 as their miserable stretch continues. It is highly unlikely that Kinkaid will prove to be the answer in the crease. The Devils are 4-12 in the netminder's 16 road starts. The over is 10-5-1 in those Kinkaid starts away from home. The key to the value here is Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau gave the Devils some bulletin board material for this game. After practice yesterday Boudreau guaranteed his Minnesota club will make the post-season. Now, when you're about to face a team that has been relegated to playing the role of spoiler, the last thing you want to do is give them a reason to be motivated but that is precisely what Boudreau did. The reason we are on the over here and not the Devils is because New Jersey's goaltending situation simply can not be trusted. The point being that this motivated New Jersey hockey club is going to give a strong effort and be aggressive in getting good scoring opportunities, but the skaters aren't the ones in between the pipes and that means the Devils allow plenty of goals here as well! The Wild have scored 4 or more goals in 5 of their last 9 games. New Jersey has allowed 4 or more goals in 5 of its last 8 games overall. The over is 15-7 in Devils non-conference games this season. The over is 13-7 in Minnesota's non-conference games this season. Also, the over is 9-5 in Wild home games with a total set at 6 or more goals this season. Bet the OVER in Minnesota Friday evening.

ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Ottawa at Detroit, Thursday at 7:35 PM ET
The Senators Craig Anderson would likely have gotten this start in goal tonight but he has been downgraded to doubtful for this game due to an eye injury he suffered in the gym. That means Anders Nilsson will be between the pipes tonight for Ottawa and he is coming off a horrific 3rd period in the loss to Carolina Tuesday that is the type of collapse in a game that can impact the mentality of a netminder in his next start. Nilsson is not the normal #1 for the Sens and he also struggled in his most recent road start. The Senators lost 5-3 at Pittsburgh in the most recent road start for Nilsson. Twice in Nilsson's last 3 road starts Ottawa has given up 4 or more goals. The Senators will be looking to atone for a poor performance against the Hurricanes in the offensive zone Tuesday. Prior to scoring just 1 goal against the Canes, the Sens had scored 4 or more goals in 3 straight games! The Red Wings are off a big dog upset win at Nashville Tuesday as they allowed only 2 goals. However, Detroit had allowed an average of 4 goals per game in their 3 prior games. The Wings have allowed 14 goals in Jimmy Howard's last 4 home starts and he is expected to get the call tonight. The Senators have revenge here and the over is 21-10 this season in their revenge games. Also, Ottawa's O/U is 13-6 this season when they are off a defeat that came by a multi-goal margin. In road games with a total set at 6 or more goals, the Sens O/U is 16-8-1 this season. There have been 7 special teams goals scored in the Red Wings last 4 games. Ottawa's penalty killing unit only killed off 2 of 4 opportunities in the Carolina game. The Senators power play unit however is 2 for 4 on the power play in their last two road games. With special teams and the goalie situation helping us tonight, this one should see 7 or more goals scored! Bet the OVER in Detroit Thursday evening.

ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Toronto at Colorado, Tuesday at 9:05 PM ET
The over is 18-4-3 in Frederik Andersen's last 25 starts for Toronto. The Maple Leafs last 12 visits to Colorado have resulted in the over going 9-2-1. Toronto is ready to respond after a loss at New York on Sunday that saw the Maple Leafs pepper the Rangers with shots on goal but only 1 of 56 lit the lamp! The Leafs previously had scored an average of 5 goals per game in their 3 prior games and you can see the 1 goal scored against the Blueshirts was truly an aberration. Toronto continues to give huge effort and should be rewarded for that tonight but the Avalanche are likely to match the Leafs goal for goal. Andersen's last two starts against the Avs have resulted in a pair of Colorado wins with the Avalanche averaging 5 goals per victory! The Avs are off a 2-1 loss at Boston but previously Colorado allowed 4.7 goals per game in their 6 prior games. The Avalanche allowed at least 4 goals in all 6 games! Also, prior to the loss to the Bruins, the Avs had scored 3 goals in 3 straight games. Back on home ice and fighting to stay alive in the playoff race, the Avalanche will give a huge effort here. Couple that with the Leafs also coming in off a low-scoring loss where they certainly deserved better and you have the perfect situation for a barn-burner here in a non-conference match-up with end to end action. The over is 7-2 this season when the Avalanche are off a game where they were held to 1 goal or less. You can see that the Avs should respond tonight. As for the Maple Leafs response, Toronto has had 15 losses this season where they allowed 4 or more goals. After the first 14 of those, the Leafs very next game saw them score an average of 4.5 goals per game. In 10 of the 14 games the Leafs scored at least 4 goals and in only 1 of the 14 did the Maple Leafs fail to score at least 3 goals. The set-up here is ideal for a strong offensive output from BOTH hockey club tonight and each will be relentless with pressure and determination in the offensive zone. The point is that their games don't just go over the total, they absolutely crush the posted total. We expect a similar result today because the set-up is perfect here. Both teams are in the 2nd game of a back to back and both were involved in very high-scoring games yesterday and are likely to have some weary legs on defense in this one. The Lightning won 5-4 versus Pittsburgh yesterday while the Panthers won 5-4 at Washington yesterday. The Bolts are 4-1 to the over this season in Sunday games. Also, Tampa Bay is 4-2 to the over this season when playing the 2nd game of a back to back. Florida is 26-16 to the over when revenging a home loss. The Panthers are 10-6-1 to the over this season in divisional games. The Panthers power play is also a red hot 9 for 24 in their last 7 games! Tampa Bay is on a 5 for 15 run on the power play when facing the Panthers. We expect special teams play to contribute well to the total in this one. ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Vancouver at Washington, Tuesday at 7:05 PM ET
Both teams are off low-scoring losses and that actually sets this one up perfectly to be a high-scoring shootout. One of the keys is that the Canucks are in a back to back and their current back-up goalie, Thatcher Demko, got hurt in the morning skate yesterday. That resulted in Vancouver having to call up Mike DiPietro (from Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League) to be the back-up. The Canucks want to avoid using DiPietro if they can help it so Jacob Markstrom is expected to get the start again tonight after having played a full game at Philadelphia last night. Not only is this a back to back situation for Markstrom, he has produced an interesting stat this season. When he plays with 3 or more days of rest between games he is a fantastic 9-1-2 with a 2.04 GAA and .934 save percentage. However, anytime Markstrom plays with 2 or less days of rest he is 10-13-3 with a 3.15 GAA and .897 save percentage. Big difference as you can see and there is also a noteworthy stat relating to Washington's goalie for tonight's game as well. Braden Holtby is 4-9 with a poor .871 save percentage in non--conference games this season. The over is 10-2-1 in his non-conference starts! The over is 14-6-2 in all of the Capitals games against Western Conference opponents this season. Also, the Capitals are 6-0 to the over in Tuesday games this season. Vancouver is 36-22-5 to the over when off a game in which they were held to 1 goal or less. The Capitals are off a 1-0 shutout loss but their 4 prior games not only went over the total, the games averaged a total of 10.5 goals per game. This should be a very entertaining non-conference match-up played at strong tempo Tuesday night. The Canucks Alex Edler injury from last night also leaves their defense short-handed tonight. Bet the OVER in Washington early Tuesday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Edmonton at Montreal, Sunday at 2:05 PM ET
Both teams are off overtime losses yesterday. The fact that each team was in action and fell just short Saturday means we can expect a relentless effort from each hockey club as they look to get back on track today. That should lead to plenty of goals in this one Both teams were seeing their first action yesterday since the All Star break. Since this is a back to back, these hockey clubs are likely to start different goalies today than they did yesterday. As a result, don't be surprised is both Carey Price of the Canadiens and Mikko Koskinen of the Oilers are a little rusty between the pipes. Keep in mind, the skaters all saw action yesterday. They are good to go while these goalies are the ones seeing their first game action in well over a week. Advantage to the skaters! The over is 9-4 this season in Edmonton's road games with a total set at 6 or more goals. The over is 15-7 this season in Oilers games against teams with a winning record. The over is 2-1 in the last 3 meetings between these teams and those games have averaged 7 goals. We're expecting at least 7 in this one and the total is set at 6 goals. Bet the OVER in Montreal early Sunday afternoon.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Columbus at Winnipeg, Thursday at 8:05 PM ET
Winnipeg is one of the most dangerous teams in the league when on their home ice. The Jets average 4 goals per game when at home. Yes this total is a big one at 6.5 but Winnipeg has allowed 3 or more goals in 16 of their last 19 games and the Blue Jackets should get their 3 tonight but the Jets get at least their typical 4 goals at home and that means this one goes over the total. Columbus has allowed 4 or more goals in 3 of their last 5 games. The most recent meeting between these teams stayed under the total but that was preceded by a run of 4 straight overs in this series and those games averaged 8.5 goals per match-up. We see every reason to believe this one gets to 8 or 9 as well and certainly 7 at a bare minimum. That makes this a strong play for us Thursday night. Bet the OVER in Winnipeg Thursday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Buffalo at Dallas, Wednesday at 8:35 PM ET
With yesterday's 5-4 win at Columbus, the O/U is now 7-0 in Buffalo's last 7 games. The Sabres now catch the Stars after a long layoff. Due to the All-Star break, Dallas has not played since the 19th. This can lead to some sloppy play and some turnovers and of course that is what leads to odd man rushes. This total is not only low at 5.5, the juice factor (negative price) is on the under. This has led to an exceptional value on the over. While it is true that the Stars have been trending under, "all bets are off" in terms of that trend still being a factor in their first game back from the break. The Sabres enter this game having scored 3 or more goals in 6 of their last 7 games. The Stars have averaged scoring 5.3 goals per game in their last 3 meetings with Buffalo. The O/U is 6-0 this season for Buffalo when they are entering a game having played each of their 3 prior games on the road. We are taking advantage of a low total in a non-conference match-up that has all the right ingredients to be very entertaining tonight with plenty of scoring. Bet the OVER in Dallas Wednesday evening.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: NY Islanders at Chicago, Tuesday at 8:35 PM ET
The Islanders certainly trend under under new head coach Barry Trotz as he has been successful in implementing his systems and getting New York to the top of the Metropolitan Division standings. However, this total has dropped from a 6.5 to a 6 and we feel the Blackhawks on home ice are going to have a little something to say about the tempo of this game. Chicago continues to be involved in extremely high-scoring games and we don't foresee that changing in the final game before the All Star break for both the Blackhawks and Islanders. The over is 7-0 in Chicago's last 7 games. The Blackhawks have scored an average of 4.3 goals per game during this stretch. The Islanders, as noted above, have been trending under but they have scored an average of 3.6 goals in the 15 victories during their current 15-3 hot streak. We are forecasting the Islanders OVER to improve to 8-4 the last 12 times they've entered a game off a shutout victory. The Blackhawks are 10-3 to the over this season when off a game that saw them score 4 or more goals. Bet the OVER in Chicago Tuesday evening.

The Canucks have scored 4 or more goals in 6 of their past 10 home games and have averaged scoring 3.5 goals per game during this hot scoring stretch on home ice. ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: NY Islanders at Washington, Friday at 7:35 PM ET
The Islanders are now coached by Barry Trotz. The former Capitals coach left Washington just a few weeks after leading them to the Stanley Cup Championship in June. This will be his first return trip to DC since becoming coach of the Islanders. Suffice to say emotions will be running high and we expect plenty of goals in this one. The Islanders tried to play their "style" when these teams met in New York earlier this season and it did not work out for them as they lost 4 to 1. This game will play out quite differently with more shots on goal and plenty of quality scoring chances. Considering the goaltending situation for this one, those quality chances are likely to lead to plenty of goals. Braden Holtby might finally be back in the crease tonight for the Caps but he is returning from an eye injury and is likely to be a little rusty and not necessarily 100% comfortable yet after taking a stick to the eye recently against Columbus. As for the Islanders netminding situation, they are in the 2nd game of a back to back and that means Thomas Greiss is likely to get the start. He is the back-up netminder for New York and each of his last 4 starts have resulted in games totaling at least 6 goals every single time. The Caps back-up, whom could get the start again tonight here is Phoenix Copley. He has struggled badly in recent appearances. Copley's last 3 starts have resulted in Capitals opponents totaling 14 goals! As we noted above, the prior game this season totaled 5 goals and that resulted in an under. However, the 4 prior meetings went 3-1 to the over with the 3 overs averaging a total of 8.7 goals per game. The Capitals have had 2 days off since wrapping up a 3-game losing streak in which they scored a total of only 4 goals. Washington is hungry to get back on track and will be very aggressive in the offensive zone tonight. The Islanders seek revenge after scoring just 1 goal on their home ice in the first meeting between these teams this season. New York enters this game playing their best hockey of the season. The Islanders have won 13 of their last 16 games and have scored an average of 3.5 goals per game in those 16 games. The Capitals are averaging 3.4 goals per game this season and you can see why the forecast we have for this game is that it will end with no less than 7 goals being scored! Bet the OVER tonight.

ASA 9* PLAY ON OVER: Colorado at Toronto, Monday at 7:05 PM ET
Frederik Andersen is expected to get the start in goal for the Maple Leafs tonight. He most certainly could be rusty. Andersen will be making his first start in over 3 weeks. He was out with an injury and then his return was further delayed by battling with the flu. Facing the loaded top line of the Avalanche (Gabriel Landeskog, Mikko Rantanen, and Nathan MacKinnon) is not the best way to ease back into action. This is particularly true when the Avalanche are off a rare shutout loss. The Maple Leafs are also low-scoring losses in each of their past two home games. In other words, don't be surprised when both teams are very aggressive tonight in terms of putting pucks on net and the over is 4-0 in the last 4 starts that Andersen has made. As for the Avs, prior to being shutout at Montreal, the over was 4-0 in their past 4 games and Colorado averaged scoring 4.3 goals during this stretch. Toronto, prior to a 3-2 loss versus Boston, had scored 4 or more goals in 14 of their 20 previous games. We look for both teams to score at least 3 goals (if not 4) tonight and that means this game finishes with at least 7 goals. Bet the OVER tonight.

ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Nashville at Columbus, Thursday at 7:05 PM ET
Back-up goalies involved in this one. An unspecified incident involving Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has resulted in him not being with the team for tonight's game. That means Columbus will have Joonas Korpisalo between the pipes. The back-up netminder has an .872 save percentage in 7 home games (5 starts) this season. The over is 4-1 this season in Korpisalo's 5 home starts. The Predators are in the second game of a back to back and Pekka Rinne was in goal for the 4-3 OT win at Chicago last night. That means Juuse Saros gets the call here and the back-up goalie has an .892 save percentage in 11 road games (8 starts) this season. The over is 6-2 this season in Saros' 8 road starts. Overall, 3 of the last 4 meetings between these teams have gone over the total and, as you can see per the above, there is plenty of reason to believe this will be another one that flies over the total. The Blue Jackets are off a shutout loss at Tampa Bay but certainly deserved better in the goal-scoring department. Prior to that scoreless defeat, Columbus had scored 3.6 goals per game in their 7 prior games. Nashville certainly has their goal-scoring prowess shifted back into high gear again! The Preds have scored an average of 4 goals per game in their last 7 games. The over is 25-16-3 when the Predators enter a game on a winning streak of 3 or more games and Nashville is certainly hot again right now! Columbus is 9-5-2 to the over this season when off a game in which they allowed 4 or more goals. With this total set at a 6 and both back-up goalies getting the starts, we're stepping in big on the high side of this total! Bet the OVER tonight.

The Senators have trended over all season and, specifically, the over is 14-3 this season in their road games when the the total is set at 6 or more goals. Additionally, Ottawa's O/U is 11-2 in non-conference games and 18-6 when off a game in which the Sens allowed 4 or more goals. Both the Senators and Ducks enter this game on losing streaks as well as struggling overall this season. That is also noteworthy as Ottawa is 14-3 to the over this season in their games against teams with a losing record. Unlike the Senators, the Ducks have trended under this season, However, Anaheim has entered a game on an under streak of 3 or more games 9 times this season. Of those 9 games only 3 resulted in an under. We look for the Ducks to take advantage of a Sens team that has not been playing well in their own zone. The Senators have allowed 45 goals in their last 10 games - an average of 4.5 goals a game! The Ducks also have struggled in terms of goals allowed as they've allowed 27 goals during their current 8-game losing streak. Both clubs should enjoy a breakout game in their respective offensive zones in this one in Anaheim. Bet the OVER tonight.

ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON OVER: Colorado at Winnipeg, Tuesday at 8:05 PM ET
These are two of the highest scoring teams in the league. These two hockey clubs also are two of the best teams in the league when it comes to the power play. As for the penalty kill, the Avalanche are one of the worst teams in the league. In goal tonight Colorado could have Semyon Varlamov back. However, this would be Varlamov's first start since the calendar hit 2019. Not only could there be some rust but also he is coming back from a lower body injury. That is a tough one for goalies as it effects their lateral movement in the crease and facing the high-powered Jets at Winnipeg is certainly not the ideal match-up for a recovering goalie. Should the Avs decided to stick with Philipp Grubauer, the netminder is off a strong start versus the Rangers but previously allowed 10 goals on just 73 shots in his 3 prior starts. That works out to a poor .863 save percentage. While the Avalanche goal-tending situation is a bit unsettled, they enter this game having scored 10 goals in their past two games. The Jets also can put up goals in a hurry and have scored 5 or more goals in 6 of their last 9 home games! Winnipeg's O/U is 8-3 this season after a divisional game and their O/U is 8-4 this season when they are off a win by a multiple goal margin. Colorado's O/U is 11-6 this season when they are on the road in a game with a total set at 6 or more goals. There is a big O/U of 6.5 set on this game but the firepower of both clubs, the extra rest for the Avs (off since Friday), and the fact the Jets have totaled 11 goals the last two times they've faced Colorado tells you why this game is set up to be a high-flying shootout! Bet the OVER tonight.

As for the Blackhawks, they've had series dominance in this match-up as they've won 9 straight games against Pittsburgh and have scored an average of 4 goals per game in those 9 games. Would a 5-4 game surprise us here? Not in the least! The over is 9-5-1 this season when Chicago is off a non-conference game. Also, the Blackhawks have played 6 games this season with 2 days of rest between contests and only 1 of the 6 have resulted in an under! As for the Penguins, the over is 10-5, including 3-0 this season, when off a shutout win. After blanking the Jets on Friday, don't be surprised when the Blackhawks have the Pens on their heels early in this game before Pittsburgh comes roaring back. The end result? Plenty of goals! The Golden Knights also have revenge against the Kings from a recent 5-1 loss at Los Angeles. This is becoming a rivalry as these teams met in the post-season last year. 6 of the last 7 meetings have stayed under the total. The Kings have stayed under in 4 of 5 road games with a total set at 6 goals or more this season. The Kings have stayed under in 19 of 28 when playing the 2nd game of back to back. 39 of the Kings last 61 divisional games have stayed under the total. Also, 7 of 8 Vegas games this season have stayed under the total when they enter a contest following each of their 3 prior games being on the road. This is a revenge game for the Islanders and 11 of their 16 revenge games this season have resulted in an under. The Islanders have allowed an average of only 2 goals per game in their last 6 games. The Golden Knights have allowed only 2 goals per game in their home games this season. ASA 10* TOP PLAY ON Over the Total - Vegas @ Columbus, Monday at 7:05 PM ET
The Blue Jackets have played well recently but have been stopped by strong goal-tending. Columbus has out-shot their opponents 114 to 77 in their last 3 games but lost 2 of 3. Look for the Blue Jackets to get a break tonight. If Marc-Andre Fluery starts again for the Golden Knights it will not only be a back to back spot, it will also be his 6th start in 10 days! This looks like a spot where back-up goalie Malcolm Subban, whom will be very rusty from a dearth of playing time, is very likely to get the start. Subban = plenty of rust and Fluery = needing of rest. The point is that, either way, Columbus is likely to have a huge night the way they've been putting pucks on net of late. The issue for the Blue Jackets here is that the Golden Knights like to play fast and Vegas has certainly "found their game" again in recent weeks. The Golden Knights have won 10 of their last 13 games and they've scored an average of 4 goals per game in their last 11 games. Vegas is 8-2-1 to the over in those 11 games. In their two games against Columbus (both last season) the Golden Knights got 38 shots on goal in each game. The Blue Jackets enter this game having averaged 38 shots on goal per game their last 3 games. The point is that this match-up should prove to be quite the battle of firepower with plenty of shots on goal in a non-conference match-up with the lamps being lit early and often in this one! Calgary will be ready to bounce back after a 1-0 loss at rival Edmonton on Sunday. Prior to that defeat the Flames had won 9 of their past 11 games and averaged scoring 4.5 goals per game during this run! You can see why we're expecting plenty of goals here as the Flyers have had goal-tending issues all season long. Philadelphia has allowed an average of 4 goals per game their last 9 games so nothing has changed of late and the Flyers are coming off a 7-1 loss at Winnipeg. In terms of productivity at the other end of the ice though Philly did enter that game scoring an average of 3.4 goals per game in their 7 prior games and we do expect them to bounce right back after scoring just 1 goal against the Jets. The over is 10-4 this season in Philadelphia's games against teams with a winning record. Also, the over is 10-2-1 this season in Flames home games with a total set at 6 or more goals. The Capitals could get TJ Oshie back tonight. Even if they don't, Washington's production on offense has already been on a surge and they're going to take advantage of a Red Wings team that is in a back to back spot. Detroit did win 3-1 last night but they allowed 43 shots on goal and now may have to go with their back-up goalie tonight since it is a B2B situation. Washington has won 9 of its last 11 games thanks in large part to averaging 4.2 goals per game during this hot streak. The Red Wings last two games have been rather low-scoring (total of 5 goals in 2 games scored by Detroit) but, prior to this they had scored 4 or more goals in 5 of their 6 previous games. Those 6 games went 5-1 to the over and the Red Wings are 10-5-1 to the over in their last 16 road games with a total set at 6 goals or more. The Lightning are still without injured goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy. That is why back-up Louis Dominque has started 11 straight games. However, this is a back-to-back situation (the first during this stretch) and that means the Bolts are in a predicament here. Do they let Dominque start again (he was in goal for last night's win at New Jersey) or do they give the start to Eddie Pasquale? The latter option would mean a journeyman who has spent most of his career in the minors would be getting the start. The former option would mean a goalie not use to going back to back would be doing it plus it would be complicated by the fact that both starts were on the road. Either way we are confident this opens the door for the Red Wings to have a successful night in the offensive zone. The key to the over though is that Detroit is very unlikely to stop this red hot Lightning offensive machine. Tampa Bay has scored 5 goals in 3 straight games and, incredibly, the Lightning have now scored 4 or more goals in 13 of their last 16 games! The over is 9-4-2 in Tampa Bay's last 15 games. The over is a perfect 3-0 this season when the Bolts re plying the 2nd game of a back to back. The Red Wings are off a shutout loss but the over was 3-0 in their 3 prior games as they averaged scoring 4.3 goals per game in those 3 games. The Penguins have scored 4 or more goals in 5 of their last 6 games. Pittsburgh has allowed an average of 3.7 goals per game in its last 4 road games and is currently without their top netminder Matt Murray. These are two of the top power play teams in the league as Pittsburgh is converting on 25% of their power play opportunities and Colorado is converting at a 32% rate with the man advantage this season! Also, on the road the Penguins are 38% and at home the Avs are 27.6% on the power play. Ever since Winnipeg had the two game series with Florida in Laine's native Finland to begin this month, the Jets have been a different team. 8 of Winnipeg's 10 games this month have totaled at least 6 goals. The Jets are scoring an average of 3.9 goals per game this month. Winnipeg has given up 4.3 goals per game their last 4 games. The Penguins have scored 4 or more goals in 4 of their last 5 games. Also, on the road the Penguins are 38% and at home the Jets are 39%. These are phenomenal numbers and Winnipeg had the best home record in the NHL last season and Pittsburgh has had multiple Stanley Cup championships in recent seasons. This one should be quite the battle of firepower with the lamps being lit early and often in this one! Take the OVER tonight.

ASA 9* PLAY ON Under the Total - Columbus @ Detroit, Monday at 7:35 PM ET
The Red Wings have not scored a power play goal in 5 games and, in fact, have scored just 1 time in their their last 19 power play opportunities spanning 8 games! This is a revenge game for the Blue Jackets as they lost 5-3 to Detroit in Columbus in late October. Not only was that game a disappointing effort for Columbus in their own zone, the Jackets are coming off a 4-2 loss at Pittsburgh where coach John Tortorella was not happy with his team's play around their own net. Columbus had previously allowed just 2.3 goals per game in their 8 prior games and they should bounce back with a strong effort in their own zone tonight. The under has gone 8-2-2 in November games for Columbus. The under is also 5-0 in the Red Wings last 5 games and also has cashed in 7 of their last 9. In other words, look for another low-scoring battle here as only 2 of the last 8 meetings between these teams has resulted in an over. Take the UNDER tonight.

ASA 9* PLAY ON Over the Total - Winnipeg @ Vancouver, Monday at 10:00 PM ET
The Jets can't wait to get back on the ice after a disappointing 2-1 home loss to the Sabres on Saturday night in Winnipeg. The Canucks are also off a low-scoring loss which is rare as Vancouver was on a 7-2 run to the over entering that game. The Jets have one of the best power plays in the game, converting at 33.3% this season, while the Canucks have struggled on the penalty kill at 77.8% so far this season. When facing a team with a losing record (Vancouver has lost 12 of 22 this season), Winnipeg has had just 3 unders in 9 games. The Canucks, in home games with a total set at 6 goals this season, have gone 9-4 to the over this season. The Jets have allowed an average of 3 goals per game in their last 3 games played away from Winnipeg. Vancouver has allowed an average of 4.3 goals per game their last 8 games. Take the OVER tonight.

ASA 9* PLAY ON Under the Total - Florida @ Columbus, Thursday at 7:00 PM ET
This match-up features two teams playing very solid hockey right now and limiting their opponents scoring chances. It helps when you have a red-hot goalie between the pipes and that is the case for BOTH teams tonight. The Panthers Roberto Luongo is 4-0 on the season and has been rock solid since he returned from injury. The Blue Jackets Sergei Bobrovsky has held opponents to just ONE goal in 5 of his last 6 starts. Luongo has made 5 starts this season and NONE of the 5 have resulted in an over. Additionally, the Panthers have allowed a total of only 8 goals in those 5 games. Overall, Florida's last 8 games have resulted in 2 pushes and 6 unders. The last 7 games for Columbus have resulted in just 1 over and 6 unders. This looks like a great hockey game for those who love to see solid execution and great goaltending. This one definitely has the makings of a 2-1 type grudge match. Take the UNDER tonight.

The Flames have averaged scoring 4 goals per game during a solid winning run that has seen them win 3 of their last 4 games. All 3 of the starts that Boston's Tuukka Rask has made this season have resulted in an over. Rask has been announced as the starter for tonight's game as Jaroslav Halak is expected to get the start tomorrow night at Edmonton. Calgary is likely to have Mike Smith in the crease for this one. The Flames netminder has seen all but 1 of his 4 starts this season result in an over. Boston's power play has been great this season but their penalty kill has struggled - a perfect recipe for a lot of special teams goals! Bet the OVER in Calgary in late evening action Wednesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Carolina Hurricanes @ Tampa Bay Lightning, Tuesday at 7:35 PM ET
The Hurricanes were rolling with 4 straight wins but then ran into an angry Jets team Sunday and got beat 3-1. The key to the value with the over here is that the Hurricanes had averaged scoring 5.3 goals per game their 4 games prior to running into a fired up Winnipeg hockey club. Now, on Tuesday, the Canes offense should get back on track as they take advantage of facing Louis Domingue, the back-up goalie for the Bolts, in this one. However, Tampa Bay's offense is off of an 8-goal outburst in their most recent game and feeling very confident heading into this home match-up. So, while the Lightning are poised for another big game in the offensive zone, don't be surprised if Carolina answers Tampa goal for goal in this one! The over is 3-1 in the Hurricanes last 4 games. Only 5 of 13 (38%) of Carolina's road games with a total set at 6 or more goals have resulted in an under. The Lightning are 16-9-4 to the over when playing with two days of rest between games. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Carolina Hurricanes @ Winnipeg Jets, Sunday at 7:05 PM ET
The Hurricanes are rolling with 4 straight wins but they run into an angry Jets team here. While the Canes were in action last night the Jets have been off since Thursday. That result on Thursday was a 3-0 loss at Nashville. Winnipeg has had to wait 2 full off days to get a chance to get the bad taste out of their mouth and they will be fired up and should score plenty of goals in what will be just their 2nd home game of the season. The key to the value with the over here is that the Hurricanes have averaged scoring 5.3 goals per game their last 4 games. So, while the Jets are poised for a big breakout game in the offensive zone, don't be surprised if Carolina answers Winnipeg goal for goal in this one! The over is 3-0 in the Hurricanes last 3 games. Only 4 of 12 (33%) of Carolina's road games with a total set at 6 or more goals have resulted in an under. The Jets are 20-11-1 to the over when playing with two days of rest between games. The Golden Knights have only scored 2 goals in all 5 games but they've deserved much better. Statistically the Golden Knights have been playing much better than their 2 goals per game would lead you to believe. Look for them to push plenty past the Flyers goalie in this one as Philadelphia has allowed 5.7 goals per game since they held the Knights to just 2 at Vegas in their season opener. While Philly has had some issues in their own zone, they have averaged scoring 4 goals per game on the season and you can see why we like the over 6 so much in this match-up as a result. Look for the over to improve to 10-5-1 the last 16 times that the Flyers have played a home game with a total set at 6 goals. Bet the OVER in Philadelphia in very early afternoon action Saturday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 5.5 goals in Washington Capitals vs Vegas Golden Knights, Saturday at 8:15 PM ET
The Golden Knights, prior to the Game 2 loss, had only suffered 3 losses in this post-season. Their record after a loss was 3-0 and they've averaged scoring 4 goals per game in those 3 victories. That said, we love the value here with the over set at only 5.5 goals and plenty of goals likely. The first two games have averaged 7.5 goals per game. The Capitals have averaged 3.5 goals per game in their last 11 home games. 8 of those 11 games totaled at least 6 goals which, again, is why we see such great value here with this total set at 5.5 goals and the over available at plus money. When tied in a playoff series the Golden Knights are 3-0 to the over. Also, the over is an incredible 11-0 the last 11 times the Capitals have played a home game with a total set at 5.5 goals. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Washington Capitals @ Vegas Golden Knights, Monday at 8 PM ET
The Capitals wrapped up the Eastern Conference Finals with back to back shutout wins. On the season, when Washington enters a game off of 2 or more consecutive games where they allowed 2 or less goals, the over has gone 12-4-1 (75%). Also, the the over is 9-1 (90%) this season when the Capitals enter a game with 3 or more days of rest between games. The last 4 times the Golden Knights entered a game with 2 or more days of rest between games only 1 under (25%) has resulted. The other 3 games totaled 22 goals - an average of 7.3 goals per game. Things tend to get a little "crazy" when teams have a layoff between games because the passing and puck-handling tends to not be as strong as it typically would be. With timing off there is a tendency for more turnovers which can, of course, create great scoring opportunities including odd man rushes going the other way. This has not been properly factored into this Game 1 O/U and that is why the over at 5.5 goals is available at a plus money return and this is a fantastic value we won't pass up. Bet the OVER in Vegas in evening action Monday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Winnipeg Jets vs Vegas Golden Knights, Sunday at 3 PM ET
The Jets are going to respond off of 3 straight losses but certainly respect must be given to the Golden Knights and how well they've played in this series. That is what leads us to the over in this match-up as there is great line value here with this total at 6 and available at plus money in most places and then even dropping to 5.5 goals in some spots. Winnipeg has averaged 3.8 goals this season in home games! The over is 18-9 when the Jets enter a game on a losing streak of 3 or more consecutive games. The Golden Knights have scored an average of 3.3 goals per game in their last 6 games. Winnipeg responds but you know Vegas (averaging 3.4 goals per game last 10 games too) is likely to match them goal for goal and that should lead to a real "barn burner" here in Winnipeg. The over is 6-2 the last 8 times the Jets were off of a game decided by 1 goal. After the tight loss in Game 5, look for Game 6 to be a breakout game for the Jets offense. 6 of the last 7 meetings between these teams have totaled at least 6 goals. The Lightning proved in Game 3 that they are fired up after feeling they played way too tentative on home ice and they now have begun to dig out from an 0-2 hole in this series. The Bolts are a fast-skating team and they'll be on the attack early and often again in this game as they saw how much that paid off in Game 3 as they responded after dropping each of the first two games on home ice. This will again help to set a fast pace and tempo to this game with plenty of end to end action. The Capitals have showed a lot of resiliency throughout this post-season. With that said, we expect the Lightning to jump out to an early lead again here but the Caps will battle back as the game goes on. The over is a long-term 20-6 when the Bolts are trailing in a playoff series! Only 2 of Tampa Bay's last 10 conference finals games have resulted in an under. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Washington Capitals @ Tampa Bay Lightning, Friday at 8 PM ET
3 of the last 4 meetings between these teams have totaled at least 6 goals. Also, this will be the 11th time (regular season and playoffs) this season in which the Capitals have had 3 or more days of rest between games. So far there have been 9 overs and 1 under when Washington is in this situation. The Capitals are so relieved to finally have gotten past Pittsburgh in a playoff series that they may be surprised by the aggressive attack and speed that the Lightning will play with here. That should help to set a fast pace and tempo to this game with plenty of end to end action. The Bolts want to establish dominance right away in this series and they'll use their quickness and superior skating ability to do just that. However, we're certainly not fond of playing favorites in the nearly 2 to 1 range and the Lightning are priced high for a reason. The best value play in Game 1 in our opinion is with the over. The Capitals have showed a lot of resiliency throughout this post-season. With that said, we expect the Lightning to jump out to an early lead here but the Caps to battle back as the game goes on. Winnipeg also continues to be a nemesis for Predators goalie Pekka Rinne (and even back-up Juuse Saros - 1 game this season) as the Jets have scored 4 goals or more in 7 of their last 9 games against the Preds. With a chance to close out on home ice, Winnipeg will be extra aggressive tonight in terms of attacking the offensive zone as they look to keep Nashville on their heels. The Bolts are red hot as they've won 9 of their last 12 and the Lightning have averaged 3.8 goals per game during this hot stretch. Tampa Bay will be looking to close out the Bruins and certainly Boston has struggled to keep pucks out of their own net. That said, this is a desperation time for the Bruins and the road team has won 3 of the 4 games in this series. Look for Boston to answer the upstart Lightning goal for goal in what should be a true "barnburner" with plenty of "end to end" action. The Bruins can't afford for this to turn into a defensive struggle as they've been losing those battles in their own zone. With that said, and facing elimination, this should be a wild Game 5 down in Tampa. The over is 16-9 in the Bolts last 25 games versus teams with a winning record. The Preds had allowed an average of only 1.3 goals per game in their 3 prior games. As for the Jets, after their dominating win in Game 1, they have held the opposition to 2 goals or less in 7 of last 8 games. As you would expect with those types of numbers, all 7 of those games stayed under the total. The Predators enter this game on a streak of 4 straight unders. We expect the under to improve to 4-1 this post-season when Winnipeg is holding a lead in a playoff series. While Andersen should again play well tonight, the Leafs are likely to struggle to find the back of the net. The road team has averaged only 2.36 goals per game in the last 11 meetings between these teams. This is a Game 7 match-up and goals tend to be at a premium in these "win or go home" affairs. The Capitals have scored at least 3 goals in 9 straight games. Additionally, the Caps scored 4 or more goals in more than half of those games! The Blue Jackets are off of a 4-3 OT loss at Washington and they know they should not have lost that game. The Jackets were the better team that day and now, on home ice, they'll come out even stronger and with even more resolve as they look to get payback on the Capitals. Should Columbus get an early lead here, they certainly aren't going to sit on it. In fact, neither team well because there simply has just been too many stretches in these games were teams rip off of a flurry of goals and we've seen late rallies and OT games throughout this series. With that said, look for an aggressive approach in the offensive zone with both of these hockey clubs tonight. The Blue Jackets have won 15 of their last 22 games and that has been on the strength of an offense that has averaged just under 4 goals per game during this 22-game stretch. At home and facing elimination, the Blue Jackets will be relentless tonight. Couple that with the line value of a 5.5 on this game and you have great value here. Wednesday's match-up between these teams fell just short of going over. Even with that 3-2 result, the 4 games in this series have averaged 7.25 goals and we're expecting another high-scoring match-up tonight. There is no tomorrow for the Avalanche should they lose this game so they are going full speed ahead and will look to attack early and often. Of course this could expose the Avs in their own zone but they have no choice. The clock is ticking on their season and they know they're not going to win a defensive struggle with Pekka Rinne and the Predators. Offensive execution is the key for the Avs as back-up goalie Jonathan Bernier is now out and Semyon Varlamov (the normal starter) was already out. This leaves netminding duties to Andrew Hammond, the #3 guy on the depth chart. Though he played well in Game 4, he now faces the Predators in their own barn and we look for the Preds to be very aggressive in looking to end this series on home ice so look for a fast-paced game here with not a lot of time spent in the neutral zone. The over is 33-17 when Colorado is playing with revenge this season and their April games are on a long-term 15-3 run to the over. Bet the OVER in Nashville in late evening action Friday.

ASA TOP PLAY ON 10* OVER: Nashville Predators @ Colorado Avalanche, Wednesday at 10:05 PM ET
The long-term numbers here are too strong to ignore and the situational aspect of tonight's match-up also strongly supports this play. First off, about those long-term numbers, the over is already 3-0 in this series and this is not a huge surprise as the over is now 14-3 in the last 17 meetings between these clubs and that includes 7-1 in the last 8 match-ups in Colorado. Being down 2-1 in this series and still trying to claw their way back, the Avalanche again have to rely on their offense here. Jonathan Bernier, back-up goalie, for the Avalanche is just not at the same level as Semyon Varlamov (out with injury). The over is 10-4 in Bernier's 14 starts versus divisional foes this season. As for the Predators Pekka Rinne, he is normally solid but the last 9 starts he has made have seen Nashville allow an average of 3.6 goals per game! Also, the over is 26-12 when the Preds enter a game on an over streak of 3 or more consecutive overs. The over is 15-2 in the Avs last 17 April games! Additionally, when the Avalanche enter a game on an over streak of 3 or more consecutive overs, the over has gone 12-3 this season! Both clubs are playing very confident right now in the offensive zone and we've been impressed with the speed and skating ability the Avalanche have displayed in this series and that should helped lead to another "barn burner" high-scoring match-up in Denver tonight. Bet the OVER in Colorado in late night action Wednesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Winnipeg Jets @ Minnesota Wild, Tuesday at 8:05 PM ET
The Wild entered Game 3 down 2-0 in the series and then found themselves down 1-0 early in Sunday's game. However, a couple of power play goes really got Minnesota going and that changed everything in terms of momentum. The Wild rolled to a 6-2 lead after 2 periods and then the scoreless third period had more to do with big margin in the game rather than anything else. In other words, look for a bunch of goals again tonight despite that 3rd period. You know Winnipeg will respond here but they also could be without 6'8 defenseman Tyler Myers. This certainly won't help them in their own zone and the Jets have been struggling to keep the puck out of their own net in road games recently. Winnipeg has allowed 4 or more goals in 4 of their last 5 games away from home. Look for the Jets offensive production to bounce back after scoring just a pair of goals in Game 3. Winnipeg entered Sunday's game having averaged 3.9 goals per game in their last 10 games. They'll respond here. The last 4 times the Jets have been held to 2 goals or less in a game they've averaged 4 goals per game in their next game. The Wild are 27-17 to the over in their games against teams with a winning record this season. Bet the OVER in Minnesota in evening action Tuesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Nashville Predators @ Colorado Avalanche, Monday at 10:05 PM ET
The Avalanche are going to respond at home down 2 games to none in this series. However, they're also not going to be able to stop a Predators juggernaut offense that has scored 4 or more goals in 4 straight games and 8 of their last 10 overall. Nashville has averaged scoring 4.2 goals per game in their last 9 meetings with Colorado. They key here is that the Avalanche did get a little more going in the offensive end in Game 2 with 4 goals scored and now they are back on home ice where they have scored 5 goals in each of their last 2 games. Each of the last 5 meetings between these teams has gone over the total and the Avalanche just aren't the same team without Semyon Varlamov between the pipes and, with him out, Jonathan Bernier has struggled. The over is 14-8 this season when the Predators are on a winning streak of 3 or more games. Also, the over is a long-term 25-12 when the Preds are a totals streak of 3 or more consecutive overs. Colorado is 32-17 to the over when playing with revenge. The Avs are also on a 14-2 run to the over in April games and the Avalanche are 11-3 to the over when they are on a totals streak of 3 or more consecutive overs. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Minnesota Wild vs Winnipeg Jets, Sunday at 7:05 PM ET
The Wild are going to respond at home down 2 games to none in this series. However, they're also not going to be able to stop a Jets juggernaut offense that has generated 84 shots on goal in the first two games. Winnipeg has averaged scoring 4 goals per game in their last 8 meetings with Minnesota. They key here is that the Wild should finally get their offensive production going now that they are back on home ice. Minnesota had averaged 3.3 goals per game in their 8 previous games versus the Jets prior to being held to just a single marker in Game 2 of this series. The over is 11-4 this season when the Wild are off of a game in which they were held to 1 goal or less. Winnipeg is 10-5 to the over when they enter a game having played each of their 3 prior games on home ice. That is a combined factor of 21-9 (70%) favoring the over in this one. ASA TOP PLAY ON 10* OVER: Minnesota Wild @ Winnipeg Jets, Friday at 7:35 PM ET
The first game of this series stayed under the total but just barely. That was the first under in the last 8 meetings between these teams in Winnipeg. In fact, in their last 19 meetings north of the border, there have only been 5 that resulted in an under! The Jets have averaged scoring 4 goals a game this season when on home ice. That said, the total of just 5.5 is offering solid line value here. Winnipeg finally broke through against Devan Dubnyk late in the 2nd period and carried that momentum to the 3rd period with 2 more goals. Dubnyk has not been as strong on the road as he has been at home this season and the Jets will carry over the momentum from the late game action in the first one right into Game 2 tonight. The Wild also broke through and had a brief 3rd period lead with a pair of goals against Connor Hellebuyck. The Jets goalie has only an .890 save percentage in his last 7 games versus Minnesota. The issue the Wild had in Game 1 was not getting enough shots on goal. They'll rectify that tonight. Keep in mind, Minnesota had averaged 33 shots on goal in the 5 prior games versus Hellebuyck and the Jets. At his long-term save percentage versus the Wild that equates to 3.5 goals tonight. Of course you can't score half a goal but the point is that the Wild should be good for 3 to 4 and with the Jets averaging 4 goals per game at home that should lead this one to a 4-3 or 5-4 Jets win. With the over 5.5 currently available with no juice, there is even more value with the over in this one. The over is 7-3 in Minnesota's Friday games this season. The Jets are very comfortable at home and haven't had to play away from Winnipeg in a week and a half. The Jets are 10-4 to the over this season when they enter a game having played each of their 3 prior games at home. Bet the OVER in Winnipeg in early evening action Friday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Colorado Avalanche @ Nashville Predators, Thursday at 9:35 PM ET
The over is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings between these clubs. The Avalanche lost #1 goalie Semyon Varlamov to injury not too long ago. This has put a lot of weight on the shoulders of Jonathan Bernier. There is a reason he is the #2 netminder for Colorado. Also, when Bernier most recently faced the Predators in the post-season he was with Anaheim last May and allowed 6 goals on just 34 shots in his two appearances versus Nashville. The Avalanche know they can't afford to sit back on their heels here and try to win a low-scoring grinder. It is simply not going to work against a Predators team with the ability to play that way much better than the Avs can. Big dogs in this series and down to their #2 goalie, the Avalanche are going to have be aggressive and attack early and often. With guys like Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon, Colorado certainly has some big-time scoring threats and they are 30-17 to the over when playing with revenge this season. The Avs are also on a 12-2 run to the over in April games. The Predators finished up the season scoring 4 goals or more in 5 of their last 6 games. The Preds also have scored 4 goals or more in 7 of their last 8 meetings with Colorado. With this total dropping from an early 6 down to a 5.5 we're taking advantage with a strong play on the over. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins, Friday at 7:35 PM ET
The over is 6-3 in the Senators last 9 games as they wind down a meaningless ending to the season. This has led to a lack of defensive intensity and Ottawa has allowed 4.2 goals per game in their last 9 games. The Penguins are still playing for playoff positioning and they'll look to take advantage by pressuring the Sens early and often in this one. Pittsburgh is 23-8 to the over their last 31 games. The Penguins have allowed 3.5 goals per game their last 11 games but of course their strength is their offense. The Pens have averaged 3.7 goals per game in home games this season! This one is set up to be a barnburner and the Penguins are 11-6 to the over when playing on back to back days and also they've gone 21-7 to the over this season when off of a divisional game. Ottawa is 31-17 to the over this season when playing a team with a winning record. The over is also 8-2 this season in Senators Friday night games. The high-scoring trending continues here. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Edmonton Oilers @ Minnesota Wild, Monday at 8 PM ET
The Wild have lost two top defensemen. They also are very nearly locked into a playoff spot that has them matching up with Winnipeg in the first round. In other words, the concern for Minnesota simply becomes staying healthy and getting ready for the post-season. That said, with the way the Oilers have been pressuring the opposition (but simply having some back "puck luck") we look for Edmonton to enjoy plenty of success in the offensive zone tonight. The issue for the Oilers, as it has been for much of this season, is they struggle to keep the puck out of their own net. Of course Minnesota is heavily favored on home ice for good reason and we expect them to certainly answer the Oilers goal for goal in what should turn into a very high-scoring game as a result. Only 5 of the Oilers last 17 April games have resulted in an under. The Wild are off of a 4-1 loss at Dallas and the over is 10-3 this season when Minnesota is off of a game where they were held to 1 goal or less! Bet the OVER in Minnesota in evening action Monday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Colorado Avalanche @ Anaheim Ducks, Sunday at 9 PM ET
The Avalanche just lost #1 goalie Semyon Varlamov to a lower body injury and he is out for the season. Back-up Jonathan Bernier, a former Duck, has been battling some injuries and has just an .871 save percentage in his last 4 games (2 starts). Also, on the road this season Bernier has an .898 save percentage and only 5 of his 15 starts have stayed under the total. The Avalanche also will be without their top defenseman, Erik Johnson for this one. That sets this one up well for plenty of Anaheim goals but, keep in mind, the Avalanche are fighting for their playoff lives too and they have plenty of pop in terms of offensive production. They have scored 3 goals in each of their two games versus the Ducks this season. Also, Colorado has scored 4 goals or more in 7 of their last 12 games! The over is 6-0 this season in Avalanche games and the over is 9-1 in April games the past two seasons! Bet the OVER in Anaheim in late night action Sunday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Carolina Hurricanes @ Washington Capitals, Friday at 7 PM ET
The Hurricanes, though not mathematically eliminated are, for all intents and purposes, truly already eliminated from post-season contention and have been for a while. They've been playing like it too as they've now allowed 23 goals in their last 6 road games and 5 of the 6 went over the total. The Canes have scored at least 3 goals in 9 of their last 10 games and that is what leads us to the over here. Washington is not going to be stopped here and 4 of the last 6 meetings between these teams have resulted in an over. The Capitals have scored at least 3 goals in 8 of their last 9 games. We expect each team to get at least 3 here and that will get us the over in this one. The Capitals have a big game at Pittsburgh on deck and could get caught looking ahead. That leads to a little less defensive intensity. Washington has had just 2 unders in their last 8 games. Carolina is 5-2-1 to the over in road games with a total set at 6 goals or more. The Hurricanes also are 10-5-1 to the over when playing with 2 days of rest between games. The Capitals divisional games are 16-8-1 to the over this season. ASA PLAY ON 10* OVER: New York Rangers @ Washington Capitals, Wednesday at 8:05 PM ET
The Rangers are gearing up for next season. That leads to a youth movement and right now this team is very weak in their own zone. The Rangers have too many missed assignments and players out of position and this results in being picked apart at times. Of course that is why the Capitals are a huge favorite in the rematch of the Monday match-up in New York. In that game Washington got up 4-0 in the first and hung on rather easily for the 4-2 win. We look for the Rangers to be a little more aggressive from the outset in this one as they certainly have nothing to lose at this late point in the season. Getting a couple goals as Monday's game went on got them some much-needed confidence but the weakness in their own zone is what has this one with the sharp-shooting Capitals going over the total. Washington has just 1 under in their last 7 games. The Rangers are 7-0-2 to the over in their last 9 games. The last three seasons, Rangers divisional games are 49-24 to the over and this includes 16-5 to the over this season! The Capitals are 15-9 to the over after a win by a margin of 2 or more goals and also 16-7-1 to the over in their 24 divisional games this season. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Edmonton Oilers @ Tampa Bay Lightning, Sunday at 5:05 PM ET
Both of these teams were in action yesterday and both used their #1 goalie. That means back-up goalies today and the Oilers Al Montoya has struggled and the over is 4-0 in his last 4 starts. The Bolts Peter Budaj has also struggled and the over is 3-0 in his last 3 starts. The Lightning were shutout yesterday and the over is 7-1 this season when Tampa Bay is off of a game where they were held to 1 goal or less. Also, the over is 9-1 this season when Tampa is in the 2nd game of a back to back. As for Edmonton, only 5 of their last 16 games against teams with a winning record has resulted in an under. The Bolts 3-0 home shutout loss yesterday was preceded by a stretch where TB scored an average of 4.2 goals per game and the over went 8-2 in those 10 games. This total opened at a 6.5 and dropped to a 6 but the odds makers had it right and this one easily gets to 7 goals or more! Bet the OVER in Tampa Bay in very early evening action Sunday.

ASA PLAY ON 10* Top Play OVER: Colorado Avalanche @ Minnesota Wild, Tuesday at 8:35 PM ET
The over is 5-1 in the Avs last 6 games and Colorado has averaged scoring 4 goals per game in their last 7 games. Minnesota is off of a bad loss at Edmonton but previously the Wild had won 8 of their last 10 games. Big key for the Wild was offensive production and even with the bad game versus the Oilers, Minnesota has averaged scoring 4 goals per game their last 11 games! The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these teams and all 4 of the overs totaled at least 7 goals. With an opener of 6 goals on this total, it may seem a little high but, as you can see per the above, this one should prove to be not nearly high enough. The over is 8-3-1 Minnesota's last dozen games versus teams with a winning record. The over is 8-2 this season when the Wild are off of a game where they were shutout or scored just one goal. Only 4 of Colorado's last 13 road games that had a total set at 6 goals or higher resulted in an under. In other words, look for a back and forth shootout in this one tonight! Minnesota goalie Dubnyk has struggled badly in recent starts versus the Avs and his back-up Stalock has been in poor current form. Both Avs goalies, Varlamov and Bernier, have been sub-par overall in recent games. The lamp should be lit early and often in this one as that is what all signs are pointing to. The Senators are off of a 2-1 home loss but previously had scored 3 or more goals in 5 of their last 7. Ottawa had allowed 3 or more goals in 8 of their 10 games prior to allowing just 2 versus the Flames. The Panthers have allowed at least 3 goals in 2 of their last 3 games. The over is 19-12 in Florida's March games and the over is 15-10 this season when the Panthers are off of a game where they scored 4 or more goals. The over is 27-14 this season when Ottawa faces a team with a winning record. Florida is hot and Ottawa wants to play the role of spoiler. This combination should lead to a high-scoring game as the Panthers high-scoring trend continues but the Senators match them on all but one of the markers as they hang around in this one! The last meeting between these clubs totaled 9 goals and that was in Chicago. In the first meeting, in Vegas, the game also went over the total with 6 goals scored. The Golden Knights are off of a game that just stayed under the total Sunday but 8 of their 10 prior games went over the total! The key to the value here is that both teams are putting a ton of pucks on net but both clubs are struggling to keep the biscuit out of their own goal! The Blackhawks are still waiting for Corey Crawford, their top goalie, to return from injury. He just started practicing again with the team but is not ready quite yet. Chicago has been using Tanner Glass and Anton Forsberg between the pipes in his absence. The Blackhawks have allowed 4 goals per game in their current 6 game losing streak as it has not gone well at all. The Blackhawks offensive production though has led to an average of nearly 40 shots on goal per game in their last 4 games and it should pay off here. That's because Marc Andre-Fleury is suddenly struggling for the Golden Knights. The veteran netminder has had a great season but is on the fade of late. The Vegas goalie has an .879 save percentage in his last 4 starts. The Golden Knights have allowed an average of 4 goals per game in their last 5 games. One thing Vegas does well though is score plenty of goals at home. The lost their most recent game Sunday but outshot the Flyers 39-18. The Golden Knights are averaging 3.5 goals per game at home this season. The over is 18-6 in Blackhawks February games. On the season Edmonton is one of the weaker teams in the league when it comes to keeping the puck out of their own net as they are allowing 3.2 goals per game. However, an overall disappointing season for the Oilers is starting to turn thanks to offensive production that has kicked into high gear. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Los Angeles Kings @ Calgary Flames, Wednesday at 10:05 PM ET
Calgary has been involved in some low-scoring games recently but the Flames have a huge rivalry game with Edmonton on deck for tomorrow. That means the Flames best defensive efforts are likely to be reserved for tomorrows battle with the Oilers. Also, the last 5 meetings between these two teams have averaged 6.2 goals per game and there have been no unders in any of those five games. Prior to back to back low-scoring games, Calgary had averaged scoring 3.9 goals per game in their 7 prior games. There should be plenty of goals scored in this one as the Kings have lost 7 of their last 8 games and it is largely due to sub-par defense. LA has allowed an average of 3.6 goals per game their last 5 games. The Flames have stayed under the total in 3 straight games but that is a situation that has produced a record of 4-1 to the over this season! Also, the past 3 seasons combined, when the Flames enter a game on an under streak of 3 or more games, Calgary has had just 6 unders in 23 games! Vegas is off of a high-scoring 5-4 win at Chicago Friday and the Golden Knights are now back home where they've averaged an incredible 3.8 goals per game this season. 12 of 18 Vegas games against teams with a winning record have gone over the total this season. Of the Rangers last 70 non-conference games, only 25 have resulted in an under. The Rangers won the first meeting between these teams by a 6-4 count in New York on Halloween and we look for another wild one here. The fact we only need 6 for a W here adds significant value as this total is currently set at 5.5 goals. Bet the OVER in Vegas in late night action Sunday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Buffalo Sabres @ Winnipeg Jets, Friday at 8:05 PM ET
The Jets have truly been incredible in terms of their production in the offensive zone when on home ice. Winnipeg has averaged 4.2 goals per game at home this season. Incredibly, the Jets have scored at least 4 goals in 13 of their last 15 home games! Couple that with the fact that this total dropped from a 6 to a 5.5 and there is great value here with this over. The Sabres have scored at least 2 goals in 6 straight games and have averaged 2.7 goals per game during this stretch. Buffalo is in a back to back here and the Sabres have had only 16 unders the last 43 times they've played the 2nd game of a back to back. The Jets are well rested here and have had just 1 under in 6 games this season when they enter the game with 2 days of rest between games. Bet the OVER in Winnipeg in evening action Friday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Columbus Blue Jackets @ Colorado Avalanche, Thursday at 9:05 PM ET
Total has dropped from a 6 to a 5.5 as the day has gone. Making 6 a "win number" in a game that is likely to be high scoring gets us "in play" here. The Blue Jackets are off of a 2-1 win but had allowed 5 goals in each of their 3 prior games. Colorado will be ready to take advantage as they've won 3 straight games and averaged scoring 4.3 goals per game. Overall, the Avalanche had scored 4 goals or more in 5 of their last 7 games before a tight 3-2 win versus Winnipeg Tuesday. The over is 7-3 when the Avs enter a game on a winning streak of 3 or more consecutive games. Colorado is a fantastic 16-5 to the over in their games against teams from the Eastern Conference this season. The Blue Jackets are 4-0 to the over this season in road games with a total set at 6 goals or more. The fact that this total is now available at a 5.5 in many spots means even more value for the over here as the odds makers have been 100% correct when setting big totals in Columbus road games this season. Bet the OVER in Colorado in late evening action Thursday.

ASA TOP PLAY ON 10* OVER 5.5 goals - Chicago Blackhawks @ Vancouver Canucks, Thursday at 10:05 PM ET
The Blackhawks will be without #1 goalie Corey Crawford. That is a significant loss for Chicago as they have lost 7 of 8 games that back-up Anton Forsberg has started. Also, the over is 4-2 in the 6 road starts Forsberg has made as he has a poor .894 save percentage away from home. After a 5-game winning streak that saw the Blackhawks average 3.6 goals per game, they lost their final two games before the Christmas break and scored only 1 goal. Chicago can't wait to get back on the ice and make amends for those efforts and they will score well tonight. The problem will be keeping the puck out of their own net with Forsberg between the pipes. Vancouver has certainly had issues with keeping the puck out of their own net! The Canucks lost 8 of 9 games before the Christmas break and Vancouver allowed an average of 4.9 goals per game during this poor stretch! The Canucks offense did show improvement however and they averaged 3 goals per game their final 5 games before the break. They should enjoy plenty of success against Forsberg tonight. The over is 7-1 in the Canucks last 8 games. The over is 11-3 this season when Vancouver is off of a loss by a multiple goal margin in their prior game. When the Blackhawks are off of a game where they scored 1 goal or less this season, they've only stayed under the total twice in six games. Look for plenty of offense in this one. Bet the OVER in Vancouver in late night action Thursday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 5.5 goals in Vancouver Canucks vs Montreal Canadiens, Tuesday at 10:05 PM ET
Both teams are struggling and both have some injury issues. Those injury issues however have weakened the blue line for each club. The Canucks are without Christopher Tanev and the Canadiens are without Shea Weber. Both of those players are defensemen. Vancouver has been having huge trouble in their own end and between the pipes as they've allowed 4.8 goals per game in their last 6 games! The Canadiens have allowed 3 goals or more in 4 of their last 5 games. This is why we're anticipating a 4-3 type game here and we see great value with the over. Montreal just got shutout in the outdoor game at Ottawa Saturday so they are anxious to atone for that scoreless performance. Vancouver is off of a blowout loss at home where they were held to just 1 goal. Both clubs are anxious to respond with more offense tonight but neither club has proven adept at keeping the puck out of their own net of late. As a result, the value here is with the over. The over is 28-19 when the Canadiens are off of a loss by 2 goals or more. Also, the over is 10-6 this season in Habs games against teams with a losing record. Additionally, the over is 4-2 in Montreal's road games with a total set at 5.5 goals. The Canucks are 10-3 to the over this season after a game in which they allowed 4 goals or more. Another wild one in BC tonight. Bet the OVER 5.5 goals in Vancouver in late night action Tuesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER: Nashville Predators @ Vancouver Canucks, Wednesday at 10:05 PM ET
The Predators are seeking revenge here for a 5-3 home loss to the Canucks two weeks ago. However, the Preds are expected to save goalie Pekka Rinne for a match-up at Edmonton tomorrow night which would mean Juuse Saros will be between the pipes tonight at Vancouver. Saros has not been nearly as effective as Rinne and each of his last 4 starts have resulted in an over. The Canucks are going to have Anders Nilsson between the pipes and, on the season, he has not been as effective as Jacob Markstrom. The over is 4-0 in Nilsson's last 4 starts. The over is 8-3 in Vancouver's games this season where they are off of a game in which they allowed 4 goals or more. The over is 8-3 this season when Nashville is playing with revenge. The Predators also are 23-10 to the over when they enter a game on an streak of 3 or more consecutive overs. Bet the OVER in Vancouver in late night action Wednesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* UNDER 5.5 goals: Minnesota Wild @ San Jose Sharks, Sunday at 9:05 PM ET
The Sharks are off of back to back high-scoring games (San Jose exploded for 5 goals in each game) but don't let that fool you. The Sharks continue be a defensive-minded hockey club. 10 of San Jose's 12 home games with a total set at 5.5 goals have resulted in an under this season. Also, when off of a game where the Sharks scored 4 goals or more, all 7 games have resulted in an under this season. The Wild are off of a 3-2 win at Anaheim and that was the 3rd time in 4 games that Minnesota has held their opponent to 2 goals or less. Devan Dubnyk has been playing very well between the pipes for the Wild and has a .930 save percentage in his last 4 starts. However, Alex Stalock is likely to get the start here against the team that drafted him in 2005. You know the back-up netminder is looking to come up big against his former team and we expect him to do just that. The Sharks are expected to have Martin Jones between the pipes tonight but Aaron Dell has also been playing well. Either way, look for another under here as San Jose has had just 7 overs (25%) in 28 games this season and the Sharks have fantastic penalty-killing. Bet the UNDER in San Jose in late evening action Sunday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 5.5 goals Anaheim Ducks @ Vegas Golden Knights, Tuesday at 10:05 PM ET
This is a revenge game for the Ducks. Not only did Vegas beat them 4-2 two weeks ago in Anaheim, the Golden Knights completely dominated with a 49-19 edge in shots on goal. The Ducks are also 6 points behind Vegas in the standings so you know Anaheim is going to bring their A game tonight. We expect this to result in a very fast-paced uptempo game. The Golden Knights have averaged 38 shots on goal per game in their last 4 home games. Overall, the Knights have averaged 3.5 goals this season but prior to the tight 3-2 win versus Arizona, Vegas had given up 3.8 goals per game in their 16 prior games! The over is 5-1 when Vegas is off of a divisional game and the Golden Knights are 6-1 to the over in home games with a total set at 5.5 goals. The Ducks have had only 10 unders the last 36 times they've entered a game where they've played 3 or more consecutive road games leading into that game. ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 6 goals: Toronto Maple Leafs @ Edmonton Oilers, Thursday at 9:05 PM ET
Edmonton is expected to start back-up goalie Laurent Brossoit in this one. He has an ugly .881 save percentage on the season. The Maple Leafs will have Frederik Andersen between the pipes but the Leafs haven't been doing a great job in front of their netminders of late. Prior to the 4-1 win at Calgary, this led to 4 goals allowed in 3 of Toronto's last 4 games. The Leafs 4-1 win over the Flames was the 5th time in their last 6 road games that they have scored at least 4 goals! The Oilers come into this game having averaged 3.6 goals per game in their last 8 games. Edmonton appears to have turned the corner with wins in 3 of their last 4 games but the upper body injury for Cam Talbot literally "hurts"! The over is 3-1 in Oilers home games with a total set at 6 or more goals. The over is 6-3 this season when the Maple Leafs are off of a non-conference game. Bet OVER 6 goals in Edmonton in late evening action Thursday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 5 goals in Montreal Canadiens vs Columbus Blue Jackets, Monday at 7:35 PM ET
This total has dropped from a 5.5 to a 5 in most books. 5 is a key number in hockey since a 2-2 game guarantees at least a 3-2 final and we like the value being offered here. Columbus is off of a huge 5-2 home and the over is 6-2 this season when the Blue Jackets scored 4 or more goals in their prior game. The Canadiens are playing with revenge here after losing to the Blue Jackets two weeks ago. That is significant because the over is 22-11 when Montreal is playing with home revenge. Also, the Habs are off of a shutout win versus the Sabres and the last 8 times that the Canadiens have shutout a team only twice (in 8 games) has their next match-up stayed under the total. Neither hockey club has been scoring a lot of goals of late and that has made it a big focus here for each team. Additionally, all trending and situational factors (as notated above) are pointing to an over. Grab the value with the total sitting on a key number (5 goals) here! Bet the OVER in Montreal in early evening action Monday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* UNDER 5.5 goals - Buffalo Sabres @ Detroit Red Wings, Friday at 7:35 PM ET
The Red Wings exploded for a huge 8-2 win over Calgary Wednesday but Detroit has recorded 25 of 37 unders when off of a game where they scored 4 goals or more. Also, Buffalo is off of a 5-4 loss at Pittsburgh but that is the only over they have recorded in the past 2 weeks. In fact, the Sabres have recorded 17 of 22 unders in November games the past 2+ seasons. After allowing 4 or more goals, Buffalo has had just 3 overs in 10 games this season. As you see per the above, both teams are likely to be emphasizing defense after the wild games they were involved with in their most recent games respectively. Also, only 3 of the last 10 match-ups between these clubs have resulted in an over. It is a divisional game and, as a general rule, these match-ups tend to be more physical and defensive-minded with much less open ice. The Red Wings have seen 6 of their 7 divisional match-ups this season stay under the total. We expect more of the same in this one. Bet the UNDER in Detroit in early evening action Friday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 5.5 goals in Boston Bruins at Anaheim Ducks, Wednesday at 10:05 PM ET

The Ducks are off of a 2-1 home loss to Tampa Bay Sunday but the over is 4-2 this season when Anaheim faces a team with a losing record. In a road game with a total set at 5.5 goals, the Bruins are 4-0 to the over this season. After scoring 1 goal or less in their prior game, Boston is 3-0 to the over this season. The Ducks, before scoring just 1 goal Sunday, had averaged scoring 3.4 goals per game in their last 5 home games. The Bruins have allowed 3 or more goals in 5 straight games. The Ducks have allowed an average of 3.2 goals per game in their last 9 games. Bet the OVER in Anaheim in late night action Wednesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 6 goals in Vegas Golden Knights at Edmonton Oilers, Tuesday at 9:05 PM ET
The Golden Knights are down to their #4 goalie as Fleury, Subban, and Dansk are all injured. The #4 netminder for Vegas is Lagace and he is off of a solid start at home but he has often struggled on the road. The Golden Knights have allowed 4.2 goals per game in their last 6 road games and Lagace was the starter in 5 of those! The strength of the Vegas team has been a determined and relentless team up front and that has led to the Golden Knights scoring an average of 3.8 goals per game in their last 14 games! Vegas is off of a 5-2 home win and the over is 4-0 this season when the Golden Knights are off of a win by a margin of 2 goals or more. The Oilers are off of a frustrating 2-1 loss at Washington that was decided after regulation in a game in which Edmonton never trailed. As a result, we expect an offensive explosion here from the Oilers because they were frustrated by that road loss. Also, Edmonton suffered a rare shutout loss in their most recent home game and they want to make amends for that here. That means plenty of offense can be expected. The last 47 times the Oilers are off of a game where they were held to 1 goal or less, only 17 of the 47 games have resulted in an under. Bet the OVER in Edmonton in late evening action Tuesday.

ASA PLAY ON 9* OVER 5.5 goals in St Louis Blues at Calgary Flames, Monday at 9:05 PM ET
The first match-up between these clubs this season totaled 7 goals and we expect a similar result tonight. The over is 3-0 in the Flames last 3 games and each one totaled at least 8 goals. The Blues are off of a loss in their most recent game but previously had won 9 of their past 11 games and St Louis averaged scoring 4 goals per game in those 9 victories. Coming off of a home loss Saturday, the Blues will hit the ice with plenty of energy tonight and will look to pressure the Flames early and often like they did in the 5-2 win last month. Calgary has been off since a big win versus Detroit Thursday. The Flames have gone over in 8 of 12 when they enter a game on rest of 3 or more days. Also, Calgary has gone over in 5 of 7 this season when they are at home and the total is set at 5.5 goals. The Flames have gone over the total in 34 of 55 when they are off of a game where they scored 4 goals or more. Bet the OVER in Calgary in late evening action Monday.
