02-26-14 Michigan v. Purdue +5 77-76 Win 100 23 h 34 m Show
Purdue +5

The Purdue Boilermakers host the Michigan Wolverines on Wednesday night. Purdue is coming off a 76-57 loss to Nebraska, while Michigan beat Michigan State their last time out, 79-70.

Michigan has alternated wins and losses over its last seven games, and the team faces a series letdown spot in this one, having played each of their last four games against ranked opponents, and coming off a game against instate rival Michigan State.

The Wolverines also haven't fared all that well on the road this season, going 5-4 in true road contests this year, with three of those wins coming by five points or fewer.

As for Purdue, they'll look to build on some solid numbers in the first meeting between these clubs this season, in which they kept to within single-digits in Ann Arbor, and were able to outrebound the Wolverines while forcing 16 turnovers.

The Boilermakers may not have a shot at climbing to the top of the Big Ten standings, but they'd love to play spoiler against a conference rival in front of their home crowd, so expect an A-effort.

The Boilermakers are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings between these teams, and the underdog is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings.

Take Purdue.

Western Michigan -6.5

The Western Michigan Broncos are the hottest team in the MAC of late. Western Michigan has won 9 of their last 10 games, including two wins over Ohio and a win over Eastern Michigan.

The Broncos were up and down early in the year, but they have really come together of late.

Ball State has nothing to play for here. The Cardinals are just playing out the string at this point and waiting for the MAC tournament to start to have one more chance to keep fighting.

This is a team that has been dreadful all year long, and I don

Portland -7

The Portland Pilots dominated Loyola Marymount already on the road this year. They should beat them handily tonight at home as well.

Loyola Marymount is a team that has some talent, but they play individual basketball instead of team ball, and a good disciplined team like Portland is a bad matchup for Marymount.

Anthony Ireland burst onto the scene as a very good guard for Marymount in his freshman year. He is ultra talented, but he puts up too many bad shots at this point in his career.

The Lions shoot less than 30 percent from beyond the three point line.

Portland plays well at home (they did beat Gonzaga at home already this year). The Pilots are a well-coached team that does a nice job not beating themselves.

Portland is a solid defensive team, and they take care of the ball very well.

Portland won by double digits on the road at Marymount earlier this year, and they won comfortably at home against the Lions last season.

02-11-14 Florida v. Tennessee +2.5 67-58 Loss -110 4 h 14 m Show
Tennessee +2.5

The Florida Gators are a terrific team, but they are in a difficult spot here. Florida has lost the last two times they have played at Tennessee.

The Volunteers actually beat them both times they met in 2012. Tennessee knows how to play Florida tough.

Florida blasted Tennessee 67-41 at home earlier this year, but I think that makes this spot even better for the Volunteers. Tennessee has proven time and time again that they are up to the challenge of beating top teams at home.

The best team they have played at home this year was Virginia. They won that game 87-52 in a massive blowout.

Tennessee can dominate the glass against Florida, and the Volunteers offense is very efficient on their home court.

Brown +16

The Harvard Crimson host the Brown Bears on Friday night. Harvard is coming off an 80-50 win over Pennsylvania, while Brown beat Columbia their last time out, 64-56.

Harvard has been kicking ass and taking names in Ivy League play, but Brown has been a lot better of late, and could give them a run for their money. The Bears have quietly won five of their last six games. A big part of the team's turnaround has been the play of Sean McGonagill. McGonagill is averaging a team-high 18.5 points per game on the season, and has continued to pour in points in Ivy League play, scoring 17.8 points per game on 44.7 percent shooting, also hitting on 52.0 percent of three-pointers in those four games.

Brown also isn't afraid to go on the road to face Harvard. In last year's trip to Cambridge, the Bears forced overtime in a game they eventually lost 89-82 as 11.5-point favorites. With the Bears ranking 14th in the nation in rebounding and Harvard ranking 163rd, the Bears could be in position to make some noise once again.

The Bears are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine Ivy League games.

Take Brown.

This is a team that has struggled for the past few years, but they are a much better squad this season.

William & Mary shoots it from long range at an impressive 42 percent clip. The Tribe have multiple guys who can fill it up from long range.

James Madison is a team that struggles at guarding beyond the three-point arc, and the Dukes were beaten by 22 points by William & Mary in their last meeting a couple weeks ago.

William & Mary broke through with a nice road win at Drexel a couple games ago, and I think that helps them a ton here. The Tribe have far more offensive firepower than James Madison.

The Temple Owls host the 15th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats on Sunday. Temple is coming off a 90-66 loss to UConn, while Cincinnati beat Central Florida their last time out, 69-51.

The Bearcats dug themselves a hole with back to-to-back losses in early December.

The team has been great outside of those contests and would certainly be in the national top 10 if they hadn't given away those games.

The team has since won 11 in a row, including a huge road win at a Memphis team that was then ranked no. 18 in the country.

The Cincinnati defense has been one of the better units in the country, limiting opponents to just 54.9 points per game in their seven conference games.

The Bearcats are simply red hot and are going to be trouble for any team in their path.

The Bearcats are 7-3 in their last 10 games overall.

As for Temple, they have lost seven in a row and nine of their last 10, and they simply haven't done much to limit what their opponents can do at the offensive end, allowing their last two opponents to shoot a combined 53 percent from the field.

The Owls are 7-19 in their last 26 home games.

The Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans host the Texas State Bobcats on Thursday night. Arkansas Little-Rock is coming off a 99-73 loss to Georgia State, while Texas State fell to Texas-Arlington in their last game, 56-48.

Betting on games that involve teams the betting public doesn't know a whole lot about often presents opportunities for us to get in at a fair number, and that's just what we get here.

These teams enter playing at very different levels right now. Texas State has lost five of their last six games, while Arkansas-Little Rock has won five of its last seven games.

The Bobcats are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games overall.

We also get this game in the building we want. Arkansas-Little Rock is 4-2 at home, while Texas State is 1-6 in true road games.

The Bobcats are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games.

Additionally, Arkansas-Little Rock won the first meeting between these teams this season, a 63-59 win on the road, despite hitting on just 41.3 percent from the field. Expect them to up that number in front of a friendly crowd.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders program has some talent, but not that much depth. Jaye Crockett as a very high upside and I think he has the potential to do some special things this year for Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders are now on their fourth coach in the past four seasons. Tubby Smith is now the top man at Texas Tech, and I expect him to be a very good hire for this team.

Smith did a good job turning around a Minnesota basketball program that hadn

The Oklahoma Sooners lost their top three players from last year. Lon Kruger has done a very good job with this team, and I actually successfully backed them in their season opener against Alabama (an outright winner as a five-point underdog).

That play was more about fading Alabama than backing Oklahoma though.

Oklahoma is going to be down quite a bit from last year. The Sooners don

Lon Kruger has done a very good job with the Oklahoma Sooners basketball program. Oklahoma used to be a football only school when it came to being competitive, but that has changed.

The Sooners lost three key players from last year, but recruiting has been much better recently, and I believe this team will be better than most expect.

Alabama has a quality coach in Anthony Grant, but he really has his work cut out for him this season.

The Michigan Wolverines were all the way to the top of the college basketball rankings earlier this year, but inconsistency down the stretch led to them falling quite a bit.

The Wolverines played their best game of the season this past Saturday in a dominating 78-53 win over a tough VCU team. The youngsters of Michigan seemed to grow up in that game.

Trey Burke is arguably the Player of the Year in the nation, and he is a terrific player. Keep in mind though, that the Wolverines have a lot of other very talented guys on the court at all times.

Tim Hardaway Jr., Mitch McGary, Nick Stauskas, and Glenn Robinson III are all capable of carrying the team for stretches in the game.

Kansas played very well in the second half last week against North Carolina, but the Jayhawks had the good fortune of playing in front of a virtual home crowd in that game.

St. Joseph's PK

The St. Joe's Hawks have a veteran team, and I think that will big in this matchup. Xavier has plenty of talent, but many of their best players are underclassmen. Teams who have been here and had success in the Atlantic 10 tournament have an edge.

St. Joe's beat Xavier by 10 in their only meeting this year. The Hawks have been up and down all season, but I expect their best effort in a win or go home situation.

St. Joe's has a lot of balance on the offensive end, and that should help them a lot against a solid defensive team like Xavier.

Xavier has beaten some very good teams at home this year, but away from home the Musketeers are a different team. They were 7-7 on the road and 0-2 at neutral sites this year.

This game will be played in Atlantic City, New Jersey. If anyone is going to have a home court advantage here it will definitely be St. Joe

Loyola Marymount was a major underachiever this year. With Anthony Ireland and Ashley Hamilton, I would have expected this team to win quite a few games in the WCC.

Instead, Loyola struggled through a horrible regular season.

They have shown signs of life in the WCC tournament though. They beat a pretty good San Francisco team in overtime yesterday. Ireland and Hamilton have both played much better of late, and they are capable of taking over a game at any time.

Santa Clara has had almost a week off, and this could be a case where the team is a little rusty. Loyola Marymount has found a rhythm the last couple days.

Santa Clara is a solid team, but I definitely don

The Georgetown Hoyas continue to be the Rodney Dangerfield of college basketball. Even though the Hoyas are first in the Big East standings, and they are riding a big 11 game winning streak, they are still an underdog against a decent Villanova team.

The Hoyas have beaten Syracuse and Cincinnati handily on the road in the last couple weeks. Villanova certainly needs this win, and that is probably why the line is where it is.

However, I think the "they have to win this game" angle is being overplayed here. Just because the Wildcats really need a win to get into the NCAA Tournament doesn't mean they are automatically going to get a win.

I don't expect Georgetown to make it easy on the Wildcats at all, and Georgetown is the much better defensive team.

The Hoyas are led by the Big East favorite for Player of the Year, Otto Porter. Porter has been absolutely outstanding all season. Georgetown has beaten numerous teams better than Villanova this year, and they have plenty of veteran leadership to get them through this one.

Don't forget, Georgetown really needs this game as well since they are fighting to win the Big East regular season title.

Georgetown is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 following an ATS loss. Take Georgetown.
