Game: Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets May 4 2012 10:35PM
Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Play on LA Lakers at 10:35 ET. Teams down 0-2 in their series that returned home went 0-2 ATS last night. The one that was favored (Dallas) we were on, and they were a real dud losing the game outright by 16 points. We've learned our lesson here. A defensively deficient Denver team that has allowed 100+ already twice in this series does not even have a chance here at home considering the way Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are playing right now. Los Angeles has already won once here in the Mile High City this season and is 5-1 SU vs. the Nuggets overall this season. Therefore, you can't like Denver as a favorite in this spot. While they have been quite profitable as an underdog this season (including an ATS win in Game 2), the Nuggets are a money loser as a favorite, going 13-17 ATS at home, including 6-9 ATS when laying six pts or less. For whatever the reason, Denver HC George Karl has been a disaster in Game 3's throughout his coaching career, failing to cover 16 of 19 times going back to his days in Seattle. Again, the Lakers are the vastly superior defensive team. They are the vastly better rebounding team w/ C Andrew Bynum as well. And judging from the fact that they have not trailed for even one possession in this series, they are just the better team overall - and getting points. LA Lakers are our ESPN Oddsmaker Mismatch.
