Guaranteed Pick: Larry Ness

Larry Ness' 10* NL Total G.O.M. (67% run!): Larry's releasing a pair of over/under plays on Sunday, looking to improve on his 5-2 (71.4%) start with MLB totals in the 2012 season. He cashed his 10* Situational Game of the Week on Saturday (run-line win on the LAA), giving him a 6-3 (67%) run with top-rated 10*s the last nine days. "The winning continues" on Sunday. Want in?

Game: Colorado Rockies at Milwaukee Brewers Apr 22 2012 2:10PM
Prediction: over
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: My 10* NL Total of the Month is on Col/Mil Over at 2:10 ET.

The Rockies (7-7) saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday, as the Brewers (7-8) scored their highest run total of the season in a 9-4 win. Sunday’s starting pitchers are Jeremy Guthrie for Colorado and Yovani Gallardo for Milwaukee. Gallardo was ‘ripped’ for six ERs on seven hits while allowing five walks in 3.2 innings in a loss to St Louis on opening day, However, he has has yielded three ERs on 12 hits with just three walks over 14 innings in his last two outings (has 13 Ks). He beat the Cubs in one of those starts and got a no decision in Milwaukee’s 5-4 win over the Dodgers, in the other. Struggling against St Louis is nothing new for Gallardo, as he’s 1-8 in 12 career starts vs them, but here's the problem in this game. Gallardo is winless in six career starts vs the Rockies, going 0-4 with a 7.67 ERA (Brewers are 0-6). In his lone outing against them last season, he was knocked around for six runs and 11 hits in four innings of a 12-3 loss at Coors Field. Now to Guthrie, who spent his first eight big league seasons in the AL (last five with Baltimore, where he was 9-17 last year with a 4.33 ERA). When pitchers switch leagues, many times they have the early advantage. Guthrie’s NL career in Colorado got off to a successful start when he won 5-3 at Houston on opening day (7 IP / 4 hits / 3 ERs) but he has allowed six ERs in each of his last two starts, on 18 hits in just 10.1 innings (10.45 ERA). Colorado’s pitching staff enters Sunday’s game with a 4.76 ERA, with the Rockies allowing 5.43 RPG to open the 2012 season. As for Milwaukee, its team ERA is 4.91, allowing 5.00 RPG. Hard to see this game not reaching double digits in runs cored.

Good luck...Larry
