Game: Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers Apr 22 2012 3:30PM
Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: At 3:30 pm, our selection is on the Los Angeles Lakers over the OKC Thunder. Los Angeles has been installed as a home underdog (as of this writing), and I think it's an over-reaction to the Lakers last two games vs. San Antonio. Sure, Los Angeles was blown to smithereens by the Spurs. But who hasn't been lately? San Antonio's last six games have all been double digit wins: Memphis (10 points); Phoenix (14); Golden St (21); Lakers (21); Sacramento (25) and Lakers (24). And this spectacular 6-game stretch by the Spurs is made even more impressive by the fact that the 20+ point wins over Golden St, Sacramento and the Lakers were part of a set of 3 games in 3 days. So, instead of focusing on Los Angeles' foibles of late, consider that Oklahoma City has also underwhelmed. Indeed, in its last five games against teams currently qualified for the the Playoffs, the Thunder are 0-5 straight-up and against the spread. Those five games were losses to Memphis (by 6 at home), at Miami (by 5), at Indiana (by 5), home to the Clips (by 2), and at the Clippers (by 15). That doesn't bode well for the Thunder today. And neither does the fact that ...[systems and analysis deleted from this results page, as that valuable information goes only to clients who purchased this selection]... is a super 19-2 ATS. Take the Lakers. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
