Burns' **10** BLUE CHIP SHOOTOUT! ~ FLIES OVER #!: Ben Burns' "Blue Chip" totals have lived up to their name over the years. His latest figures to FLY OVER THE TOTAL. Like points? Make sure you're on board!
Game: Sacramento Kings at Charlotte Hornets Apr 22 2012 6:05PM
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: I'm playing on Sacramento and Charlotte to finish OVER the total. These teams have both been profitable for "under" bettors recently. The Kings saw their last game finish below the total and have now seen the "under" go 3-1 their last four games. Meanwhile, the Bobcats have seen five straight games stay below the total. I feel those results have worked in our favor though, as we're now getting quite a low O/U line to work with. Indeed, this is the lowest O/U that the Kings have seen in many weeks. Eighteen of their past 20 games had O/U lines of greater than 200 and their last four all had an O/U line of a minimum of 209. While the Kings have played a few "unders" recently, note that each of their last six games has still produced a minimum of 195 combined points with five of those games finishing above the 200 mark. In fact, those six games averaged 207.67 points. For the season, their games are averaging 202.7 points. Of course, Charlotte games have been considerably lower-scoring. Indeed, the Bobcats have been terrible offensively. Last time out, they managed a mere 80 points (85-80 loss) - and that was more than they scored in either of their previous two games. The Kings still tend to play high-scoring games, even against low-scoring teams though. In fact, the OVER is 8-2 when they have faced a team which averages 91 or fewer points per game. While they only allowed 85 last time out, the Bobcats still allow more points than any other team in the Eastern Conference. Note that the OVER is 6-2 when the Kings have faced an opponent which allows 99 or more points per game. Also, note that the OVER is a lucrative 42-19-1 the last 62 times that the Bobcats allowed 85 or fewer points in their previous game, 17-8 to the OVER their last 25 in that situation. After facing Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans in their last three games, the Bobcats should be thrilled to see the defensively-challenged Kings. The Bulls allow the fewest points in the entire league. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies and Hornets are #1 and #2 in the Western Conference, in terms of points allowed. Conversely, the Kings allow the most points in the entire league. A look at the recent history between these teams reveals that the OVER is 5-1 the last six times that the Kings traveled to Charlotte, including 2-0 the last two seasons. Those games both finished with 208 points. With two defensively-challenged teams both playing out the string, I look for this one to also prove higher-scoring than most will be expecting. *10
