Game: Nashville Predators at Pittsburgh Penguins Mar 22 2012 7:05PM
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the "under": Nashville is coming off a horrible 6-3 setback to the Oilers in front of the home town crowd on Tuesday. After letting in three goals in seven shots, the normally steady Pekka Rinne was pulled 28 seconds into the second period. Anders Lindback made 10 of 12 saves. The loss marked the second time this season the Predators have given up six goals to Edmonton in a loss. On the other bench: Pittsburgh is coming off a commanding 8-4 win over Winnipeg on Tuesday. It was an all around old fashioned butt whooping. Sidney Crosby had four assists; Evgeni Malking had three assists and two goals. Bottom line: I think this contest sets up as a low-scoring game though. The Preds have four divisional games to end the month, and desperately need to build momentum heading into the postseason; we can expect a highly concerted effort on the defensive end from this team tonight. Pittsburgh is on fire, and has won six of its last seven games, all of which have been against the Eastern Conference. Now the Penguins play this one non-conference contest, before finishing the month with five straight games vs. Eastern conference foes; we can expect a bit of a letdown here. It all adds up to a hard-hitting, tight, low-scoring affair; *10* "BOOKIEKILLER" on the UNDER!
