Game: Xavier at Notre Dame Mar 16 2012 9:45PM
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: Play On: Xavier (Game 825) Note: After appearing punched out following their brawl with Cincinnati in December, the Musketeers pulled a rope-a-dope in the A-10 tourney, knocking off Dayton and Saint Louis before succumbing to St. Bonnie in the final. Given the X-men’s past performance history in this tourney (11-7 SU, 14-2-2 ATS), the Musketeers suddenly become a sleeper in this event, or X-factor, if you will. They’ll also be anxious to take care of some unfinished business in this opener and snap an ugly 0-4 SU record against Notre Dame. And it appears that they may have caught the Irish at just the right time. Hitting on all cylinders (9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS tear) after knocking off previously unbeaten Syracuse in late January, Mike Brey’s club has run into trouble of late and now hits Greensboro on a dismal 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS run. More alarming, though, is their dastardly 0-6-1 ATS mark outside the Big East this season. Further complicating matters for the Irish faithful is the Dame’s 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS log over their last eight NCAA tourney games, including 0-3 ATS as chalk. This hardly instills the confidence needed to get past this ‘been there and done that’ foe. The clincher is the fact that teams in the first round of this tourney off a SU and ATS loss of eight or more points in their conference championship game are 25-8-1 ATS when facing a foe off a loss of six or more points. If the foe did not lose to the spread by more than eight points these teams improve to 26-1 SU and 23-4 ATS in these opening round contests. Grab the points as X marks the spot in Greensboro Coliseum. We recommend a 3-unit play on Xavier. Thank you and good luck as always. Marc's murderous run on the NBA hardwood (17-6) continues Friday night with a Top Key Play backed with a super system inside the game that is 100% ATS perfect the last 20 years.
