Game: Xavier at Notre Dame Mar 16 2012 9:45PM
Prediction: Xavier
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: 20* Play on Xavier. It's not necessarily that we love this Xavier team, which has been very good and very bad in different stretches of the season (although they do seem to have their act together heading into this tournament), rather we are very eager to fade Notre Dame once again on the road as they continue to have all sorts of offensive issues away from their home court.

We took one of the worst beats we've had in a while when Notre Dame somehow managed to force overtime against South Florida in the Big East Tournament, and from there pull a miracle cover in the final tenth of a second in that overtime period, but the Irish came back and accordingly had another awful offensive night against Louisville, losing by 14 points to the Cardinals. Notre Dame has been dominant on their home court but at the same time flat out awful on the road, where they are scoring just 57 points per game on 37% shooting.

And their road offense has been so bad for so long that this team obviously has no confidence when they take the court away from South Bend. Xavier is a good offensive club, averaging 71 points per game away from home and there's simply no way the Irish will be able to keep up here. The Irish haven't reached 60 points in each of their last four road games despite being listed as a favorite in two of those contests, and while the Musketeers play pretty good defense themselves it's on the offensive end of the court that they will win this game handily. Notre Dame falls flat offensively once again as Xavier runs away from the Irish and win this game handily! 20* Play on Xavier.
