Lenny D's **EARLY** UPSET SHOCKER!: It has been a frustrating start to the week for former linesmaker Lenny Del Genio to be sure. Thursday's NCAA action was filled w/ close losses (1-3 overall). All we can say is that w/ over 3 decades experience on "both sides of the counter," Lenny is due for a turnaround. It starts **EARLY** Friday w/ this UPSET SHOCKER!
Game: Belmont at Georgetown Mar 16 2012 3:10PM
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Play on Belmont at 3:10 ET. It's been two years since a 3-seed was upset in the first round. Wouldn't you know that it was Georgetown losing that day to Ohio U? We're simply not sold on John Thompson III's ability to coach in this tournament. His Hoyas have been upset by a double digit seed each of the previous two NCAA Tournaments. Here they face a Belmont team that won't be lacking in confidence - or experience. The Bruins have earned themselves a total of 10 conference championships out of the Atlantic Sun since '06 - five regular season and five tournament. Nationally, Kansas and Memphis are the only teams with more during that span. Belmont has a significant edge when it comes to PPG, something you always look for in a lower seed, averaging 82 points/game compared to just 69 for G'town. The Bruins are fourth nationally in points per game and fifth in assists. Four Belmont starters average in double figures and the team makes about nine three pointers per game. Considering this is a 3 vs. 14 seed matchup, this line speaks volumes. Belmont has not lost a game since January 21st. They lost by just one at Duke in the season opener. Five of their seven losses overall have been five points or less. They are good enough to pull the upset here. Belmont is our **EARLY** UPSET SHOCKER.
