The Bears have been an up and down team over the last few seasons. Last year they sustained some key injuries to QB Cutler and RB Forte
and had to settle for a break even 8-8 season. However, they were a very strong 11-5 in 2010 losing to the Packers in the playoffs.
Believe it or not this will be coach Lovie Smith’s 9th season in Chicago. If you recall he guided the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006
losing to the Indianapolis Colts 29-17. Since that season the Bears have only made one playoff appearance.
Last year the Bears won three division games sweeping the Vikings and stunning Green Bay. They were hammered both times by the upstart
Lions. This season the Bears division schedule is back loaded with four of those contests in the final six weeks of the season.
Chicago does get a break with their non-conference schedule playing the AFC South including their opener at home versus the Indianapolis Colts.
The Bears are featured twice on Monday Night Football this season with a key division showdown at Soldier Field against Detroit and they
go out to the bay to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
The Bears were 7-3 before the injuries hit and they proceeded to lose five of their last six games. If Chicago can stay healthy they
should be able to get to 10 wins.
