Game: Orlando Magic at Cleveland Cavaliers Apr 15 2012 6:05PM
Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Play on Cleveland at 6:05 ET. Excellent value here on the home dog, who will be hosting an Orlando team w/ out Dwight Howard. Without their All-Star Center, the Magic have not performed well, losing four of five, including back to back losses to division rivals Washington and Atlanta by a combined 36 points. Therefore, there is no way you'd want to be caught laying points on the road w/ this team right now. Overall, Orlando has lost seven of its last nine and has now fallen to sixth in the Eastern Conference. With Howard not in the middle, they allowed the Wizards and Hawks to shoot better than 50% from the field and that has to be encouraging for a Cavs team that just beat the Wizards last night as six-point road dogs and is now 6-1 ATS its last seven games overall. Despite missing several key contributors, Cleveland shot 51.5% from the floor last night. Nevermind being w/ out Howard, this is a terrible spot for Orlando to begin with as they are just 9-25 ATS off a division game L2 seasons and 1-10 ATS on the road off BB division losses. They also have a big game against Philadelphia Monday night. They have failed to cover nine of their last 12 road games. Take Cleveland.

Game: Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Pelicans Apr 15 2012 7:05PM
Prediction: New Orleans Hornets
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: Play on New Orleans at 7:05 ET. This looks like a letdown spot for the visiting Grizzlies, who played last night at home, beating Utah 103-98, but failing to cover the 8.5-point spot. They've lost just once over the last six games and it came on the road Thursday night at San Antonio. We were on Memphis there and want some payback. New Orleans also comes in off a win over Utah, 96-85 as a four-point home dog. Much of the public will be scared of the Hornets here as they have won three consecutive games only one time this season, all the way back in mid-February. This is the first time since then that they've won back to back games and just the third time all season (opened 2-0). However, they have been turning a nice profit at the betting window, covering four straight and 8 of 10. They have definitely been a pretty live dog for much of the season, going 30-20 ATS when taking points, including 20-9 ATS in the +3.5 to +9.5 range. They are also 16-6 ATS this year w/ double revenge, which they have here. Don't be surprised to see the Hornets pull off their second consecutive outright dog win here. Take New Orleans.

Game: Portland Trail Blazers at Sacramento Kings Apr 15 2012 6:05PM
Prediction: under
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: 15* Under Portland/Sacramento at 6:05 ET. Lenny spent years working on an NBA "totals system" and began using it in January '07 on the net, with great success. It's based on numerous factors, some of them listed here. Anticipated pace and style of both teams' play. Days of rest for teams or lack of it. Number of points scored by starters as compared to subs in recent outings (plus season-long averages). It also factors in point and rebounding differentials of the two teams. With all these factors (and many more), it's not possible to provide Lenny's "typical analysis" with his NBA totals selections. Last season was the first that he is now supplying trends & stats to supplement the plays. These teams have a history of going Under the total against one another, having done so in 8 of the L10 matchups, including ALL 3 this season. This total is more than 10 points higher than any of the three previous meetings this season, none of which saw more than 190 total pts scored! Sacramento has failed to top 96 points in five of its last six games. Portland's scoring drops off significantly when on the road, all the way down to 92.2 PPG. Plays are rated 10* (Game of Day), 15* (Game of Week), 20* (Game of Month) and some rare 25* plays. Under Portland/Sacramento is our 15* West Conf Total of the Week.
