Game: Los Angeles Angels at New York Yankees Apr 15 2012 8:05PM
Prediction: Los Angeles Angels
Grade: Loser (-100)
Reason: 15* Play on LA Angels. Tremendous line value with the visiting Angles here tonight, and we'll back LA as we look for the Yankees to struggle here against an underrated Jerome Williams. But more importantly, we look for New York starter Ivan Nova to be hit hard here, as we are not impressed with his numbers against Baltimore in the season opener and are still worried about the right-hander after a horrible spring.
Nova finished spring training with an ERA north of eight. The main reason this line is so high is because of the success Nova had in the second half of last season, but he struggled last April with a 1-2 record and an ERA of 5.82, and he allowed 10 hits against Baltimore in his first start of the 2012 campaign.
Now he has to face a powerful Angles lineup that is coming off a 7-1 blowout win yesterday and has a hungry Albert Pujols looking for his first home run in the middle of the lineup. Williams gets the ball for the Angels, and he impressed last year with a perfect 4-0 record and 2.31 ERA in six starts. The Yankees are always listed as a higher price than they should be based on public perception and heavy action, and even more so when they are in a nationally televised game. Angels win this one and deliver us a huge payday in the process! 15* Play on LA Angels.
