Game: Denver Nuggets at New Orleans Pelicans Apr 4 2012 8:05PM
Prediction: Denver Nuggets
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Play on Denver at 8:05 ET. This is the last of a seven-game road trip for the visiting Nuggets, but fortunately they have been off since Sunday when they went to Orlando and beat the Magic outright. They've won three of four with double digit wins over Charlotte and Chicago coming prior to that. New Orleans also last played on Sunday, but they lost to the Phoenix Suns by 17, a game we were fortunate enough to be on the right side. It was the Hornets' third straight loss, all on the road. This will actually be the club's only home date over a seven-game stretch (at San Antonio Friday), but they simply don't have enough horses to compete with the Nuggets. New Orleans is averaging a putrid 87.2 PPG at home for the season and there is just no home court edge with this group as they are 5-21 SU when playing host, going 8-18 ATS. This is the fourth and final meeting this year between these teams with Denver previously taking two of three. The big story here is that Eric Gordon returns for New Orleans after missing three months (so much for competitive balance, Mr. Stern), but we question how effective he can truly be. The Nuggets are an outstanding road team, going 18-8 ATS. Take Denver.

Game: Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles Clippers Apr 4 2012 10:35PM
Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: Play on LA Lakers at 10:35 ET. We went against the Lakers last night, but are coming back with them here as they are in the underdog role. We made mention yday just how awful the Lakers have been at the betting window of late, going 3-13-1 ATS L17, including 0-7 ATS L7 and 1-9 ATS L10. However, here they have an opponent they will definitely be "up" for, that being their "tenants," the Clippers. During the seven-game ATS losing skid (5-2 SU during that same span), the Lakers have been favored by six or more points six different times. Last time as a dog, they went to Dallas and won outright by 16, taking 4. In fact, they have won outright the last three times they've been a dog. The Clippers are on their longest win streak in over 20 years (six games). A win here and they'd win the season series from the Lakers for the first time in 19 years. Have to "buy low and sell high" with these two LA teams. The Clips are off a shockingly dominant win over Dallas. It was only their second double digit win as a dog all season. Their first came last month at San Antonio, then they went out the following game and lost outright to Golden State. 15* ESPN WINNER on LA Lakers.

Game: Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz Apr 4 2012 9:05PM
Prediction: Utah Jazz
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Play on Utah at 9:05 ET. We're leaning on the old handicapping axiom of going against an unrested foe in Utah. Phoenix won last night in Sacramento, their second straight victory. As mentioned in the Denver writeup, we cashed the Suns Sunday at New Orleans. But we also cashed Utah in their previous game, an outright win at Portland Monday night. Now they are back home where they're far more dangerous. While they lost their previous game here in Salt Lake, 103-102 to Sacramento, the Jazz remain 19-7 at home. Utah is going to be supremely motivated here as they have lost six straight in the regular season, including a shocking three here by 14 PPG, to Phoenix, whom they lead by one-half game in the Western Conference standings. They shot 52% in the previous matchup, yet lost due to allowing 56% shooting for the Suns. The Jazz are a perfect 3-0 ATS this season, winning every game by double digits, when at home and hosting a foe without rest. Take Utah.
