Guaranteed Pick: Big Al Mcmordie

BIG AL's WEDNESDAY MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SMASH!: Al McMordie looks to have another great Baseball season, and it all starts tonight with the Winner of this National League matchup between the Miami Marlins and the St Louis Cardinals. Pick it up right now, and get the Opening Day $$$$.

Game: St Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins Apr 4 2012 7:05PM
Prediction: Miami Marlins
Grade: Loser (-180)
Reason: At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Miami Marlins over the St. Louis Cardinals. This is the first game of the 2012 Major League season, and without question, the theme tonight is South Florida is "all things new." The Cardinals have a new Manager and first baseman, while the Marlins have a new name (Miami as opposed to Florida), new look, new ballpark, new manager, and many new players. Those last two may be the most important factors for this team as it tries to return to the glory days and challenge the Phillies for the NL East title this year. Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, and Heath Bell have been added to the roster (among others) while former White Sox manager Carlos Guillen takes over at the helm for what should be an exciting year. The new ballpark has already seen two Major League games in the pre-season and unfortunately for the home fans, the Yankees swept the Fish in both of those. It's hard to tell whether Marlins Ballpark is going to be a hitters or pitchers venue but one thing that's for sure is that this team should be happy to see starter Josh Johnson back. Johnson - who's had an awesome spring after coming back from surgery - starts the season opener against what should be a depleted Cardinals lineup that will be without Albert Pujols for the first time in over 10 seasons. St. Louis has shuffled its pitching rotation due to Chris Carpenter's problems and Kyle Lohse will start tonight's game. If his Spring is any indication, Johnson should be ready to shine tonight and lead Miami to its first victory in its new park. Take the Marlins. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
