Nick's *10* WEST-CONF SHOOTOUT! OFF HUGE "GOY" WIN: Wow! Nick "The BookieKiller" Parsons ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED the books with the Minnesota Golden Gophers last night! It was his NIT Semi-Finals "GAME OF THE YEAR"! Congrats to all who got aboard that BLOCKBUSTER! Here he targets an INCREDIBLE opportunity from the NHL that has S-H-O-O-T-O-U-T written ALL over it! Don't even consider missing out!
Game: Detroit Red Wings at Columbus Blue Jackets Mar 28 2012 7:35PM
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: The Detroit Red Wings come into Columbus Wednesday night healthy and ready to prove to the league that they are still the team to beat in the Western Conference. With Nicklas Lidstrom back in the lineup, it instantly sharpens the Wings PP, which of course adds value to the "over". Detroit's leading goal scorer Johan Franzen will play, and with 5 points in 4 games against Columbus this season, we can count on Franzen to keep up that frantic pace. These two teams met monday night in Detroit with the Wings prevailing 7-2. I believe we can expect a similar outcome this evening; when you throw in the fact that Wings' goaltender Jimmy Howard will be sitting this one out, the "over" becomes even more enticing! That means that Ty Conklin will get the start in net for Detroit; in 14 games this year Conklin has a save percentage of .885% and GAA of 3.21. The perfect recipe for an "over" is a heavily favored team with a bad back up goalie in net. Conlkin is the Red Wings third string goalie, losing the back up job to Joey MacDonald earlier this year. Conklin was called up from the minors when MacDonald went down recently with a back injury. However, we can expect Columbus to put up its fair share in this one. With 4 points in the last two games, expect captain Rick Nash to lead the charge. The Jackets also have a great young defenseman in Nikita Filatov that is full of offense, and with James Wisniewski healthy on the point to anchor the PP, suffice to say goals are imminent! With Curtis Sanford still injured for Columbus, Steve Mason will likely get the start in net (although he did get pulled in his last two games for Allen York; who the heck is Allen York?). Either way, it doesn't bode well against this high powered Detroit offense. Oh ya, did I mention that Todd Bertuzzi put up four points against Columbus last game? If that isn't an indication that Detroit is on fire right now, I don't know what is! What a difference Pavel Datsyuk is to the Detroit line up. Evgeni Malkin will win the MVP this year, but the true Most Valuable Player to their team in my opinion is Datsyuk; he makes Detroit "fire on all cylinders", and Wednesday night will be no different. I don't see the score being 7-2 like Monday night, as I suspect Columbus will put up a bit of a better effort, but one thing is certain; the lamp will be lit more than 5 times! It all adds up to a play on the OVER!
