GRASSI’ ELITE EIGHT WINNER (Wins Saturday): **21-8 (72%) Tourneys** Tom WON AGAIN yesterday with Ohio State running his Tourney Record to an awesome 21-8 ATS (72%). Today, Tom has ANOTHER ELITE EIGHT WINNER! Don’t miss it.
Game: Baylor at Kentucky Mar 25 2012 2:20PM
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: Baylor vs. Kentucky – (2:20 EST) – the Bears advanced to the Elite 8 by hanging on to beat Xavier 75-70. They ran out to a big first half lead but let Xavier back into the game before clinching the win late. However, they failed to cover as 6.5-point favorites. Baylor had their best shooting performance in the tournament by connecting on 51% of their shots. Meanwhile, Kentucky outscored Indiana Friday night 102-90 to advance. That was the Wildcats highest scoring output of the season and the most points they’ve allowed all year. Despite allowing that many points and Indiana to shoot 52% from the floor they still managed to cover as 9.5-point favorites. Kentucky is on a roll and this Baylor team won’t be able to stop them. Baylor has played three straight weak teams. They opened with a weak South Dakota State team and snuck by with an 8 point win, beat a Colorado team that had no business being in this tournament, and caught Xavier with one of the worst teams in years. Although KY won and advanced, Calipari wasn’t happy with his team’s defensive performance. They have one of the best stop units in the country allowing only 60 points per game and letting opponents hit only 38% of their shots. Baylor can’t compare to KY’s defense as they let opponents hit 45% of their shots in road games. Baylor doesn’t have the players to stay with this squad. Kentucky wins again by double digits. Lay the points. Play on Kentucky.
