Game: New York Knicks at Philadelphia 76ers Mar 21 2012 7:05PM
Grade: Winner (100)
Reason: I'm playing the Under between the Knicks & Sixers on Wednesday evening. After struggling on the offensive end against Chicago and Miami, the Philly attack put 105 points on the board in a 25-point win over hapless Charlotte last time out. But I don't believe the Sixers will approach triple-digits tonight against a New York squad that has focused more on the defensive end since Mike Woodson took over for Mike D'antoni. Even before the coaching change, the Knicks played lower scoring games on the road than the average NBA fan probably realizes. New York enters this one on a 20-8 Under run on the road, including 11-3 to the Under away from home when the total is posted between 190 and 199 1/2. The Knicks have allowed an average of just 88.5 ppg during their current 4-game win streak, while the 76ers have held their last 16 opponents to an average of just 88.3 ppg. Philadelphia doesn't get enough credit for their defensive work. They're 23-8 to the Under in their last 31 at home, including a 9-1 Under run when they host teams with losing records. There have been an average of just 180 total points per game scored in those 10 outings. I believe we are in for a lower scoring contest than expected (4 straight Unders between these 2 in Philly). I'm playing the Under between New York and Philadelphia on Wednesday. Thanks! GL! Scott.
