Game: Anaheim Ducks at Colorado Avalanche Mar 12 2012 9:05PM
Grade: Push (0)
Reason: At 9:05 pm, our selection is on the Anaheim Ducks and Colorado Avalanche 'over' the total. One of Colorado's biggest problems this season has been its scoring -- or lack thereof -- on its home ice. The Avalanche is tied for 10th place in the NHL in goals per game on the road this season at 2.56, but unfortunately for them when playing in the Pepsi Center, that number sinks to 2.44, which is just 25th in the league. But lately, this Colorado club has taken steps to reverse that trend, and it's been showing in the final tallies of its recent home games. In the Avalanche's last eight games in Denver, 28 goals have been scored by the home team, which is an average of 3.5 per game and not surprisingly they are 6-2 in those home contests. They look to keep up the home fireworks tonight as the Ducks come to town for the second time this season, and second time in just about two weeks. In the last 10 meetings of these two teams, a total of 62 goals have been scored, or an average of 6.2 goals per game and all but one of those meetings have gone five or more total goals. Take the 'over.' As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
