Game: Nebraska at Michigan State Feb 25 2012 8:00PM
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NCAAB Saturday 10* (Top Play) on OVER in Michigan State vs. Nebraska @ 8 p.m. ET
Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans have battled their way to the top of the Big Ten on the back of their defense, which ranks 13th in the country after allowing just under 59 points per game. But, it is that defensive stoutness that is presenting solid value on the over when the Spartans open the doors of the Breslin Center for a date with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Michigan State is playing at home for the just the second time in the last five games. It is a much more comfortable offensive club on the familiar floor, boasting an 8-5 over/under count as host this season. The Green and White have topped the total in their last two home games, dropped 77 points on the Penn State Nittany Lions and netting 69 points against the Wisconsin Badgers – the top defensive program in the country. Michigan State could find itself in the middle of a good ole fashion shootout if the Huskers and star scorer Bo Spencer get hot. Nebraska blew Illinois out of the water last week with an impressive and relentless offensive attack, scoring 80 points in the win. The Cornhuskers followed that with a flat outing against Purdue, getting smacked for an 83-65 loss, pushing Nebraska’s over/under count to 6-1-2 in the last nine games. Spencer has been a dynamo in recent outings, doing damage from inside and out. He’ll be a handful for a weak MSU backcourt, which has struggled to contain the league’s top guards this season. The over has been paying out for NU bettors in three of the team’s last four road games, while Michigan State has leaned toward the over in East Lansing, topping the total in eight of its last 10 home stands.
Play on OVER in Michigan State as a 10* Top Selection Saturday.
Good luck, Scott
