Game: Georgia State at William & Mary Feb 25 2012 2:00PM
Prediction: over
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: My 9* Weekend Wipeout Winner is on Ga St/WM & Mary Over at 2:00 ET.

Georgia State lost a tough OT game at home to Old Dominion 65-60 on Wednesday. The defeat dropped the Panthers to 19-10 overall, including 10-7 in the CAA and they goe for win No. 20 on the season in their regular season finale at William and Mary (6-24 overall, including 4-13 in the CAA) on Saturday. Both teams start four guards and one “big man.” For Georgia St it’s the 6-7 Buckner (10.8-7.0) joined by guards Ali (13.2-5.8), White (12.2-3.0 APG), Fields (9.0-3.8-3.2) and Micheaux (7.9-6.6-3.4). For William and Mary it’s the 6-9 Rusthoven (10.2-6.5) along with guards McDowell (12.8-4.7), Britt (9.3), Rum (6.2-3.5 )and Brown (3.8-4.2). The Tribe’s second-leading scorer is guard Thornton (11.2) off the bench, while Ga St really has no one to match him. That being said, the matchups were disastrous for William and Mary in the teams’ first meeting (Dec 3), when the Tribe were totally shut down by Georgia State's defense in a 66-34 Panther romp in Atlanta. William and Mary connected on just 25.5 of its FG attempts, including 5-of-21 on threes. An almost hard-to-believe stat is that William and Mary had more turnovers (17) than FGs (12) for the game. However, that fact makes me believe the Tribe will be motivated to play much better here and coming off a confidence-building 75-71 Wednesday win over Hofstra (team shot a season-high 55.6 percent from the floor, including 10-of-25 from three-point range), I expect William and Mary to have little trouble matching its season average of 60.7 PPG. As for Georgia St, a 20-win regular season is no small deal and considering the Panthers average 67.5 PPG and the Tribe allow 70.8 PPG (72.7 PPG at home), this game is ‘flying over!’

Good luck...Larry
