Game: Boston Bruins at Minnesota Wild Feb 19 2012 3:35PM
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Sunday 10* (Top Play) on OVER in Minnesota vs. Boston @ 3:30 p.m. ET
The Boston Bruins may be giving moneyline bettors a headache with their inconsistent play, but total bettors have been cashing in on the over in Boston games. The Bruins are 4-1 over/under in their last five outings, including a 4-2 road loss to the Winnipeg Jets Friday night. Goaltender Tuukka Rask has been swiss cheese between the pipes and Tim Thomas seems more concerned with his political and religious views than stopping pucks. Those two road overs improved Boston’s over/under mark to 17-8-1 away from the TD Garden. Perhaps the only other team having more issues keeping the puck out of net is the Minnesota Wild. They’ve hemorrhaged goals in recent outings, allowing eight goals in their last two games and watching opponents score at least three times in six of their last nine outings. The Wild’s top line of Mikko Koivu, Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi have shown some fight in recent contests, getting the scoring started early, however, Minnesota needs three periods of solid work from its stars to keep pace with the Bruins. Booksmakers have set a 5-goal total for Sunday’s game, giving the over some added value. The Wild boast a 15-9-3 over/under mark at home this year and the over is 8-2 in Minnesota’s last 10 home stands.
Play on OVER in Minnesota as a 10* Top Play Selection Sunday.
Good luck, Scott
