Game: Oregon at Stanford Feb 19 2012 7:30PM
Grade: Loser (-110)
Reason: I'm laying the points with Stanford on Sunday night. The Cardinal are breaking out of their slump, having won back-to-back games and throwing down 87 points on Oregon State last time out. Oregon, meanwhile, is off a tough loss to Cal. The Ducks saw their Pac-12 regular season title hopes all but come to an end with the loss. More importantly, California laid the blueprint for Stanford. As widely reported in Pac-12 circles, Oregon was crushed inside, giving up 48 points in the paint to the Golden Bears. Stanford has the "bigs" to do the same type of damage. Stanford is also in revenge of a 78-67 loss in Eugene when they were outscored 20-5 at the FT line. The Cardinal were awarded just 9 FT opportunities, while Oregon shot 26. Stanford's Jarrett Mann returned to the starting lineup last time out. Mann, a defensive specialist, is a key player in this one - he is Stanford's best perimeter defender and he draws the all-important matchup against Devoe Joseph. With the inside game belonging to the bigger Cardinal, and with Mann on Joseph, I expect Stanford to gain a measure of revenge. The Cardinal are on an 8-1 ATS run in revenge of a loss as a favorite. They're also on a 4-1 ATS run at home against the Ducks. I'm laying the points with Stanford on Sunday. Thanks! GL! Scott.
