Denver looks to rebound from its first loss in seven games against a team very accustomed to losing in a Tuesday night matchup with the sorry Washington Wizards. The oddsmakers are not making this one easy on Nuggets backers, making you them 13.5 points at the betting window. The Wizards have lost eight straight games.

Both teams played last night and obviously lost. Denver fell at Houston, 125-123, despite 45 points from Carmello Anthony. The game saw a wild swing as the Nuggets came back from 16 down to take an 11 point lead, but allowed Houston to score 32 fourth quarter points, including an Aaron Brooks jumper with 2.9 seconds remaining to steal the win.

Washington, meanwhile, didn’t make things nearly as interesting. They were blown out by Utah, 112-89 as 11-point underdogs, their third consecutive double digit defeat. Like the Nuggets, the Wizards did not play well in the fourth quarter, getting outscored 31-15. Their only win in the last 11 games came against New Jersey by four. They are averaging just 87.8 PPG during their eight-game losing streak, a season high, and 2-12 ATS when playing a second road game in two days.

Good news for Denver fans is that head coach George Karl could be making his return to the sidelines after missing the final three games of the Nuggets recent four game road trip. Karl was of course diagnosed with throat cancer last month.

The Nuggets have won three straight home games over Washington and six of their last seven here at the Pepsi Center against the Wizards. However, Washington got them when the teams met last in the Nation’s Capital, 107-97, as six-point underdogs. Denver is a perfect 7-0 against the spread at home when seeking revenge for a double digit loss.
