The Phillies carry a seven-game win streak into Seattle as Interleague Play gets back underway on Friday. The oddsmakers are giving the host Mariners a lot of respect with the betting odds currently -105 for both teams. Philly will start Roy Oswalt while Seattle counters with Michael Pineda.
The Phillies outscoring opponents by an average of four runs per game during their seven-game win streak, but it should be noted that all seven wins came against the Cubs and Marlins, two National League teams that are really struggling right now. In their previous Interleague series, Philly took two of three from Texas in a series that saw only nine total runs scored.
Roy Oswalt comes in with a 4-4 record and a 3.14 ERA. Last time out, he picked up first win in nearly two months, winning as a big -200 favorite over the Cubs 4-3. He allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings of work.
After a red hot finish to May, Seattle has cooled off considerably in the month of June. They are just 7-8 this month and needed a 3-1 win Wednesday night to avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of division rival Los Angeles.
The Mariners have done quite well in the past at home in Interleague Play, going 13-5, including a three-game sweep of the Padres last month when they were red-hot.
A story to keep an eye on in this game is that it marks the debut of highly touted Seattle prospect Dustin Ackley, who will play second base.

MLB pick in this game might be the Under. The Phillies have gone Under in 12 straight games when on the road and the total is either 6 or 6.5. Oswalt himself has a 10-0 Under record in that situation.
Michael Pineda will start for Seattle. He’s never faced the Phillies and has not gotten much run support in his last three outings, all team losses. The Mariners have scored three runs total for Pineda in those games. He had allowed three earned runs or less in six consecutive starts before allowing six runs on the road to Detroit last time out.
