Cleveland at NY Yankees

(matchup)

A loss tonight to the New York Yankees could mean two things for the Cleveland Indians, obviously neither of them good – a sweep and falling out of first place for the first time in two months. They are big +160 underdogs on the betting line after losing the first three games of this series – all by four runs or more.
Yesterday, the Indians lost 9-1 as the Yankees pounded out 18 hits. Derek Jeter now is only seven hits away from the magical milestone of 3,000 hits. In conjunction with Jeter’s chase for 3,000, Bodog Sportsbook is giving away $3000.

Cleveland has now lost nine of its last ten games and has been shut out three times over that time frame. Their team batting average of .201 during this span is 20 points lower than any other American League team. They have now lost 13 of their last 18 matchups with the Yankees.
Despite winning all three games of this series, the Yankees are still looking up at red hot Boston in the American League East. After taking both weekend games, they improved their mark in day games to an outstanding 17-3 for the year. Unfortunately, that also means they are 18-24 in night games.
New York is going with A.J. Burnett to finish off the sweep tonight. His team start record as a favorite is only 16-22 the last two seasons. Burnett is off a poor performance vs. the Red Sox, allowing eight runs on seven hits and lasted just 5.7 innings of an 11-6 loss. His last four starts vs. Cleveland have seen the righty go 2-1 with a 2.22 ERA.
Cleveland counters with Carlos Carrasco, who has been a great
MLB pick on the road this year. He is 3-0 in six starts away from Progressive Field this year thanks in large part to getting over eight runs of support per game.
