Although Big East rivals Georgetown and Louisville bear the same number of victories for the season, their respective NCAA Tournament aspirations have long been considered not to be on par. The favored Cardinals can do a lot to change that Tuesday night when they host the Hoyas at Freedom Hall. This is the first game of ESPN's Super Tuesday Doubleheader.

The role of favorite has not treated Louisville well this season. Rick Pitino's team is just 6-13 ATS when laying points, including consecutive non-covers in their last two games where they were double-digit chalk. Last Wednesday, they needed overtime to dispatch of Notre Dame, who was an 11-point dog and playing without leading scorer Luke Harangody, and then on Saturday were never "in the money" as 12-point favorites at lowly DePaul.

Pointspread woes aside, the Cardinals have won five of six to temporarily get themselves off the Tournament bubble. A win here would solidify their status in next month's field of 65.

Georgetown, meanwhile, is heading in the wrong direction at the wrong time. When the Hoyas beat Dukeat home on January 30th (in front of President Obama no less), they found themselves ranked in the top ten and in possible contention for a two seed. Since that time, they have slipped a bit, losing three of five and two in a row.

The Hoyas have been a difficult team to figure out during this stretch. They have lost to the likes of South Florida and Rutgers while also beating Villanova by 13. The team is off a four-point loss to conference leader Syracuse, just their third home defeat of the season.

These teams have alternated wins and losses over the previous three seasons with Louisville winning last year's only matchup by a wide 76-58 margin in the Nation's Capital.

Totals players should take note that Georgetown is a perfect 6-0 Over this season when coming off a SU loss.
