When ninth-ranked Duke lost last Saturday at Georgetown, it marked just the fourth time the Blue Devils went down to defeat all season. They'll get an opportunity to avenge one of those defeats Thursday when they host ACC rival Georgia Tech on ESPN in the night's only battle of ranked opponents.

The Yellow Jackets, ranked 19th in the latest ESPN/USA Today poll, have not swept the season series with Duke in 14 years and when they beat them 71-67 in Atlanta as 7.5-point underdogs on January 9th, it was just their third win in the last 27 meetings with the Blue Devils. They are just 5-29 SU all-time at Cameron Indoor, where they've lost each of the last three meetings by at least a nine-point margin. Overall, Georgia Tech is just 7-18 ATS head to head in the last 25 meetings, a big reason why BetUS Sportsbook has opened them as 12.5-point road underdogs for this contest.

Georgia Tech has been a very profitable team to bet on this year, however, covering 11 of 15 lined games, including four straight. They are off a 98-50 victory over non-lined cupcake Kentucky State over the weekend, a game that was pretty much over before it even began. No one on the home sideline played more than 18 minutes and the team shot a ridiculous 71.2% from the floor.

The Jackets have dropped two of three road games in league play, including a two-point setback to Florida State. They did beat North Carolina in Chapel Hill though.

Duke, meanwhile, is a perfect 13-0 straight up at home this year. They are scoring an average of 89.9 PPG on better than 50% shooting here. Shooting the ball was a major problem for the Blue Devils in the first meeting, as they were held to 6 of 28 shooting from behind the three-point arc. It should be noted that it was their third game in six days, a stark contrast to the setup for tonight's game where they will have enjoyed a full four days off.

Coach K's team is 13-4 ATS when playing at home and off an ATS defeat.

Georgia Tech is one of the nation's leaders in field goal defense, holding foes to 36.6% shooting for the year. Still, that hasn't stopped the oddsmakers from opening the total at a pretty high number of 143.
