There aren’t many teams left in College Basketball with unbeaten records in power conferences, just four in fact, but 5th ranked Michigan State is one of them and the Spartans will undoubtedly face one of their toughest Big Ten tests of the year tonight at Wisconsin.

This will be just the fourth time all season that the Big Ten leaders will be an underdog. After going 0-2 SU/ATS as a non-conference dog, with losses to North Carolina and Texas, the Spartans did defeat Minnesota, 65-64, as 1.5-point pups on January 23rd. The early line move has gone against them with Wisconsin up to a 2.5-point favorite at the betting window.

These teams already played once this season with Michigan State winning 54-47 at home last month as a six-point choice. Wisconsin is 60-38 ATS in all revenge situations since 1997. The road team has not won outright in this series since the Badgers won 68-64 in East Lansing back in 2004.

Since the start of last season, however, the Spartans have won 12 of 13 conference road games. They have won 10 straight games overall coming into tonight, but that could pose a problem as the team is 0-7 ATS when on a winning streak of nine or more games over the last three seasons. Michigan State did not cover its last game, a 79-70 win over Northwestern, whom they were favored over by 13 points.

Wisconsin is off a 60-57 loss at Purdue where they managed to cover as 9.5-point underdogs. Prior to that, the Badgers had failed to cash in their three previous games. They have won their last 17 games in Madison, including five straight vs. ranked opponents.

Opponents are shooting 38.7 percent and averaging 53.1 points in Wisconsin's 12 home games this season. The Badgers held the Spartans to 38.1% shooting on Jan. 6, but shot 33.3% themselves. Michigan State has made just 42.4% of its attempts while averaging 55.2 PPG during a six-game losing streak at the Kohl Center.
