The ultimate stamp of approval will come when a member of the ACC member makes it to the BCS title game. A handful of teams will fit nicely into this year’s Top 25 preseason poll. The question, however, is whether one is strong enough to win a National Championship. To top it off, the overall win percentage (.644) of all teams in the Big East was higher than any Division 1-A conference in 2006. In other words, they are academically refined but pigskin poor. We call them the not-yet-ready-for prime-time-bunch: the C-USA. Rest assured, without a conference affiliation, this self-governing triumvirate holds plenty of veto power when it comes to dashing the dreams of many BCS Championship Game aspirants.
