National Championship Betting Preview
April 6, 2015
Tonight March Madness concludes with the Championship game between Wisconsin vs Duke. Wisconsin is currently only a 1 point favorite in what many are predicting a close game. The total point projected for this game is 139.5.
Wisconsin upset previously unbeaten Kentucky 71-64 to advance to the National Championship game. Wisconsin is led by AP player of the year Frank Kaminsky. Kaminsky has been dominant all tournament leading the Badgers in scoring. The Badgers are averaging almost 80 points in the NCAA tournament. Junior forward Sam Dekker is also one to look out for Wisconsin. He is a sharp shooter who isn’t afraid to hit big shots. If you remember he hit the game winning shot in his high school state championship game and has hit big shots to give Wisconsin some key victories. If there is a last shot in this game I would expect to see the ball in Dekker’s hands and not the AP Player of the Year, Kaminsky.
Duke easily defeated Michigan State 81-61 in the Final Four to get to the National Championship game. Duke is led by freshman Phenom Jahlil Okafor. The 6-11 center is averaging 17.5 points per game while bringing down 8.6 rebounds per game. He is also a big reason why Duke is only giving up just 55 points per game in the NCAA tournament. Fellow freshman Justise Winslow has been one of the most talked about players this tournament with his impressive play. His breakout game came against Utah in the Sweet 16 game in which he scored 21 points going 3-4 from the 3 point line, and he followed that up by scoring 16 points while defeating the #2 seed in their region Gonzaga. In the final four game he continued his dominance by scoring 19 points and grabbing 9 rebounds to send the Spartans home early.
These two teams met once already this season with Duke defeating Wisconsin 80-70. Wisconsin was dealing with some injuries and were not 100% in that game. They will look to revenge that game in the best way possible by winning the National Championship.
