Sports Betting News and Notes: 3/5
by Tom Freese
Tom Freese continues to
dominate the NBA as he is on a 132-76 ATS RUN going back to last year. After a slow start
in College Hoops, Tom his geared up for the same kind of finish he had last year cashing 65% ATS
from February 15 through March Madness. Join Tom everyday at Vegas Experts for winning basketball
picks and winning hockey picks.
The New York Yankees got some bad news when they found out the Alex Rodriguez needs hip surgery and may be out for up to ten weeks. There is a question that must be asked here. Is it really an injury or his body beginning to break down from steroid use?
The NHL trading deadline didn't bring any blockbuster trades, but I think the Philadelphia Flyers used bad judgment in trading Scottie Upshall. He's their type of player who is very gritty and willing to do anything to help his team win. Those kinds of players aren't falling off trees.
While we are on the topic of Philadelphia sports we must mention that the Denver Broncos have signed former Eagle Brian Dawkins. In Philly, Dawkins will be missed more off the field than on. He was clearly their leader on and off the field and it was his locker room.
Here is some food for thought for the people who bet on the NBA. At this writing double digit favorites are 67-70-2 ATS. This is the time of the year where double digit favorites struggle to cover ATS. I'm not going to divulge all my secrets, but I will tell that double digit favorites will lose ATS more than they will win ATS the rest of the way.
