How great is it being a sports fan in Boston these days?
Well considering that the Boston Celtics have the best record in the NBA and that the Boston Bruins
have the best record in the NHL, one would say that things are going great.
Factor in that pitchers and catchers will show to spring training shortly. The good news is the
Red Sox signed Jason Varitek to a one year contract with an option for a second year. Although
Varitek doesn't hit like he used to, he still handles pitchers better than any catcher in MLB.
Back to the Bruins that have great team speed and they have they have the best two players on the
ice most nights with goalie Tim Thomas and blue liner Zdeno Chara.
Back to the Celtics they have huge revenge game with the Lakers in Boston tonight. The Celts lost in
Los Angeles to the Lakers on Christmas Day. Just like last year the Celts are led by the
'Big Three' of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. The most improved player on the Celtics is
Rajon Rondo, who is averaging 11.2 points and 8.1 assists a game.
