The powers that be in NCAA Basketball have come to their senses and moved the three point line back a foot from 19 feet, 9 inches to 20 feet 9, inches. No pun intended but all of us males could use an extra inch. As for the basketball part of this change it will allow teams to play more zone defense.

It's amazing what a foot can do to change a game. Moving the three point line back will help teams with good big men as it will harder to double down with a guard. There are still enough prolific three point shooters in the country that include the likes of Stephen Curry of Davidson. Notre Dame has two prolific three point shooters in Kyle McAlarney and Ryan Ayers who shot 44.1 and 45.1 percent from beyond the arc last year.

The problem is that there just aren't enough good big men in the College game. All of the good ones opt for the NBA after just one or two years of College ball. With all that said there still is nothing like March Madness.
