The Slump Within Us All
by Scott Rickenbach
Any sports handicapper or sports bettor goes through slumps at times but the key is how that capper or bettor responds to the slump. Changing things up is often the worst thing one can do. Consistency is the key to long-term profits making MLB picks and if one allows a short-term slump to lead them to stray from what made them successful in the first place it can prove to be ultra-painful. Sometimes the ball just doesn’t bounce your way. This is what recently happened to me early in the 2nd half of this MLB season.
After a solid long-term run with baseball pickswith baseball picks closed out the first half of the season I felt ready to “go on the attack” in the 2nd half of the season. A 2-0 in the first day after the All-Star break had me feeling like I was “on my way” to maintaining all the momentum that had built up over the prior weeks leading up to the All-Star game. However, a slide ensued over the next few days. One day in particular that stands out was an afternoon where every single one of my games was a run away from guaranteeing a win (would have guaranteed each over went over) but, instead of a 3-0 I was dealt an 0-3 afternoon.
Again, the key here is to stay the course and continue to produce using the same method that has produced success in the past. Over a 3-month stretch in the latter half of last season I produced over 19K in profits at a dime per baseball pick. It is these kind of long-term runs that the latter half of the MLB season usually brings for me. I don’t expect this year to be any different.
In summary, the purpose of this article is to remind everyone that even a capper who thought they were “feeling it” during an extended stretch can quickly see the tide turn on them. The key then is the response and there is plenty on the horizon for this capper as the best part of the MLB season looms directly in front of us! Look for the timely hits to resume for the Bulldog as his “Over Easy” selections quickly resume their success of easily flying over the total.
