My two favorite Conference tournaments, the ACC and the SEC, get underway here on Thursday afternoon. I’m a diehard South Carolina Gamecocks fan but I also absolutely love the North Carolina Tar Heels. I’ve been a big Tar Heels fan since the mid 70’s back when Phil Ford ran the show. We’re going to take a look at my current power ratings for both the ACC and the SEC and try to give you a sleeper as well as who I think will win the tournament.

Let’s start off in the ACC. Here are those power rankings from the Rocketman.

No surprise that I have the Top ranked North Carolina Tar Heels leading the way in the ACC, followed by Duke, Clemson and Wake Forest. Georgia Tech and Virginia are the cellar dwellers in the ACC this year. Over in the SEC, a big surprise at #1 with Auburn along with another surprise at #2 with Alabama. Although these two teams are at the top of my rankings, don’t be surprised by an early exit in the tournament.
