This time around, it is Louisville (21-5, 12-2) who is battling for the conference’s top spot while Georgetown (14-11, 5-9) is just trying to win and build up momentum heading towards the Big East Tournament where they will likely need to run the table and grab the automatic bid. This game features two of the premier Big East rookies in Louisville's Samardo Samuels and Georgetown's Greg Monroe. They shared preseason co-Big East Rookies of the Year honors. Samuels is averaging 12.2 points per game and Monroe is Georgetown’s second leading scorer at 13.0 points per game and leads the Hoyas in rebounding with 6.8 a contest.

The Hoyas have lost eight of 10, most recently falling 78-72 at home to 10th ranked Marquette on Saturday. Georgetown is just 3-11 ATS in conference games this season, while Louisville is 11-3 ATS.

Right now atop of the Big East, Louisville, UConn, Pittsburgh and Marquette all have two conference losses. So this game has huge implications for the Cardinals.
