The Big East Conference in College Basketball is like no other. They boast nine teams ranked 22nd or better in the country, including the number one team in the nation, the Pitt Panthers. The conference has just one team (South Florida) with a losing record and 12 of the teams already have double digit win totals. The strong starts for the teams increase their chances to make it to a postseason tournament and it is a good thing for them to start out well out of conference because everyone knows how grueling the Big East can be. Conference play has just gotten underway over the last two weeks and the separation is starting to show as the weaker teams are falling. Many believe the Big East can send possibly 9 or 10 teams to the Big Dance this year. Not surprising, considering the conference set the record with eight teams in 2006 and duplicated that success last year. The oddsmakers have gotten this conference right as the Big East as a whole is 173-61 Straight Up and 82-84 Against the Spread.
