The average line in this situation is 6.9 and teams have performed slightly above average at 352-337-14 ATS-to-date. Teams are 192-511 SU or 27% in this situation, losing by an average of 6.4 points per game. The two teams that have performed the best against the spread are among the league’s elite. The Lakers are a perfect 7-0 ATS in this situation and 6-1 SU. The Magic are 11-2 ATS and 9-4 SU. The Celtics are the only other team above .500 SU in this situation going 5-3 ATS and SU.

The worst teams against the spread as road dogs this year have been the Raptors at 9-18-1, the Clippers at 10-19 and the Wizards at 13-22-1. Interestingly, the league leading Cleveland Cavaliers are only 2-6 SU in this situation.

A successful area this year have been a road dog of less than 2.5 points. These teams are 58-39-1 ATS and would have been effective money line plays going 53-45 SU. No team of at least a 14 point road dog has won this year, going 0-34 SU. Extending that to 11+ dog and the results are 2-104 SU. This is the worst performance by these teams in the database’s history, which dates back to 1995.
