How have teams performed since the 2005/2006 season coming off a game of 7 or less turnovers? The exclusive MTi SDQL Trends provide the answer.
Generally the cream of the crop in the NBA has performed well in these situations both SU and ATS. The two NBA “golden” franchises, the Lakers and Celtics are 8-0 and 7-0 ATS respectively in this situation. Other NBA elite performing strong in this situation include the Cavaliers and 10-4-1, including 8-0-1 since January 2007 and the Suns at 8-4. The Spurs are a great 20-3 straight up in this situation but an average line of -6.1 has made them mediocre ATS.
The team that has performed the poorest in this situation is also one of the NBA elite from the past 4 seasons, the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks are a 9-9 SU and an abysmal 3-14-1 ATS even though they have won the second most games the past four seasons. Perhaps the Mavericks play too conservative in these situations as their average of 10.8 turnovers is two turnovers less than the league average in this position. Other poor performers include the Warriors at 1-6 ATS and the Wizards at 6-12 ATS.
Overall: 192-176 | ATS: 185-177-6
