NFL Week 4: Eli Manning and Are The Giants Worth a Wager?
by Carlo Campanella

Last Sunday I cashed with my “AFC Game of the Year” after the Baltimore Ravens (-13) toyed with the Cleveland Browns, easily covering the spread, 34-3. While my game analysis explained several reasons why the Ravens rated as the strongest wager in the AFC this year, two of the most profitable Key Angles were based on the play of Baltimore QB Joe Flacco. Last year, as a rookie, Flacco beat Cleveland in both meetings: a 28-10 home victory in Week 2, which was followed by a 37-27 road win later in they year. Flacco now faced the Browns with a year of experience under his belt, but more importantly, the game was supported by two 100% perfect Key Angles. First, QB Joe Flacco is now 9-0 ATS (Against-The-Spread) when playing an opponent that lost their previous game and he also improved to 4-0 ATS against opponents he beat in the previous meeting!

This Sunday’s NFL schedule presents a similar situation with another young Quarterback, Eli Manning. The New York Giants signal caller has his team at 3-0 and on top of the NFC East. This Sunday, the Giants head to Kansas City to play the Chiefs. It’s the first game this season that the Giants will be in the road favorite role and that’s where QB Manning has been the most profitable during his short NFL career. In fact, Eli Manning enters Sunday’s game at Kansas City owning an 11-4 ATS (73%) record as a road favorite! The Giants have only played one road game this season, winning outright 33-31, two weeks ago in Dallas, as two-point dogs. Covering the spread against Dallas also improved QB Manning to a very profitable 28-12 ATS (70%) away from home during his 40 career road attempts.

One of the major reasons for the Giants success this year is the fact that Manning has played error-free football, throwing five touchdown passes with only one interception. This Sunday he’ll face a Kansas City team that’s 0-3 on the year and coming off a 34-14 loss at Philadelphia where they allowed the Eagles back-up QB Kevin Kolb to complete 24 of 34 (70.6%) passes for 324 yards. Kolb also tossed two touchdown passes without an interception and was never sacked. The lack of defensive pressure will allow Eli Manning the time he needs to set-up passing routes. Lay the points with the Giants against a Kansas City defense allowing 28.3 points and 362 yards per game this year.

Play On Eli Manning and the NY Giants
